I used lego plates and bricks for encounter mechanics in dnd, 1x1 for 5ft. It was very nice for tactic point of view, but feelt a bit weird/childlish for some of my players, for a dm wothout the board and figures its a nice tool and you can build a lot of scenery stuff in microscale. I cannot see anyone, even autists, using lego in sucha way that you described. Autist want more, not less rules, so anything dnd tier or higher would be preferable. I mean it could work with 8-12 kids, but im not into kids/demographic so im not expert. Even so godspeed on your journey, you seem to have fun.

Thanks for your input. The fundamental goal of the game is basically just to "enhance" Lego play.
Adding a level of variance so it's not just us sitting there playing with action figures, but it actually becomes more of a board game.

Of course, it's not competitive and we bend the rules all the time so it's definitely not for everyone. It's more of a sandbox philosophy rather than an actual game

Classic town minifigures look so much better than the current City ones, they way over-detail them nowadays. Don't need to print on every single wrinkle and crease to get across that it's a shirt, simplicity is charming.

they're for these barstools. the turntables needed to be integrated underneath the floor to get the effect I'm after. I've been preserving this digitally so I can have a basis to make an expanded version from. It also gives me the chance to clean up the piece count and do that economical hidden stud bullshit.

Aquazone is a Space subtheme
Aqua Raiders 2007 and Atlantis are both Town subthemes
Power Miners is a Town subtheme
I'm on the edge of saying Rock Raiders is a subtheme of the Town Space Port subtheme given that it has no continuity with the actual Space theme and the 5-point crystal piece used as a power crystal in Rock Raiders appears in 2 Space Port sets (albeit in chrome green instead of trans neon green).

It's definitely yellow. Technic is an extremely economical line when it comes to colors and unique molds. Considering the new panel pieces all over it I doubt we're eating *that* good on a $50 set.

U dont find it that visually impressive. To me its a big pile of the same pattern grey on grey on grey. I get that the Eiffel tower isn't exactly a rainbow dildo but it just looks boring to me and actually boring to build. The pattern repeats too much and I fear it'd become a repetitive slog.
Thats why I prefer sets with multiple parts to it, so you can have some variation in what, where and how you build.

tried PaB online just for fun to see if it was worth it and how long itd take to arrive. $16 for 44 minifig parts, took like 22 days to arrive. Not really worth it, but still neat I guess. Made a mini purple space squad

Cost per part is ridiculous. I was curious about how feasible it was to try and assemble entire old sets using PaB earlier and I punched in the parts for 375 Castle and it was well over $100, not to mention missing tons of parts or colors. Sucks because I hate Bricklink cuz of how you have to buy from multiple sellers which all have jewish minimum prices.

Got this for twenty dollars, a little bit dusty and the wrong minifig, but I thought it was cool. The sunlight opens up so you can put the minifigs in the rooms. The seagull is a bit silly and lasted less than five minutes when I gave it to him this morning.

No active debts. I attempt to also maintain less than 10% credit utilization too. I was irresponsible and took out loans to go to college with no clear plans. I could have bought a big house with the money I burned not finishing school, but everyone was told college was basically a requirement, even retards like me. Used the Trumpbux to make my final payment on my student loans.
There's something to be said about having the financial freedom to walk away from a job at a moment's notice. It puts things in perspective. I only work for my kids now and the usual bills. Sure, I don't drive a fancy BMW anymore, but i have my sanity, and my son has a bitching Lego collection.
I would never tell anyone to go down the path I did, aside from don't take on debt you don't need just because other people tell you it's the right thing to do. Misery loves company.

For me it's:
>Nexo Knights is a castle theme
>Chima is Ninjago subtheme/spin off
>I love Ninjago, it's the best original theme in decades and deserves it's success
>City is the ultimate theme because it can be mixed with any theme set in modern day
>Being a licensed theme doesn't automatically mean bad, and vice versa, just because it's an original theme doesn't automatically mean it's good
>Despite a few flaws, Lego is at it's best right now. There's brand new building techniques, new pieces, and old pieces in new colors than there was over a decade ago. I wouldn't give anything for Lego to devolve unlike some nostalgia blind retards here.

we did get dark turquoise parts in a 10€ set. and the tone of it's yellow does seem warmer to me and not so eye stinging bright

I'm pretty sure chrome was cancelled because it flaked too much, ruining the pieces, making them look dogshit. Now we get metallic gold, which is drum lacquered with paint, which also also flakes but not to the degree chrome gold did, and that shitty pearl gold.

Honestly the flaking thing sounds like it's just an excuse to switch to a cheaper process. I have like 30 chrome silver grill pieces and 11 of those chrome Rock Raiders drills and the only piece that has any flaking/chipping is one of the drills that I got for dirt cheap. The rest of them are all in essentially perfect condition and they were just normal used parts bought from a variety of different Bricklink stores, all on the lower end of the price range.

Maybe you got lucky. A lot of my chrome stuff has flakes. I especially have a ton of the chrome swords from fright knights sets and those seem to flake a lot. Its gotten to the point where I've mostly phased them out for more conventional swords. I remember my single rock raider drill also having some chipping but I don't know where it is so I cant check.

My controversial opinion:

Yes, the Witchs Manor was dogshit. But I liked the main castle and siege weapons sets. The main castle had an insanely high tower and the upper platform was perfect for battle against the flying enemies as well as summoning swarms of bats or thunderstorms.
The black dragons with different wing colors are awesome and a great addition to the fantasy heavy castle mocs I made from previous castles.
The dragon "balloon" wasnt much of a build but suspended from the ceiling gave a really cool vibe to my old setup. In my head canon the knight was enemies with the witch and his own small flying machines where necessary to counter the witch and her dragon army.

I eventually ended up buying someone elses fright knights collection later. In my newer mocs from that time I used all the burps to make terrain for my battles and travel time stories. The castle was mostly a similar design but a lot bigger and I had a massive army of bat knights that I later decided where in service to a wizard and witch who want to take over the world and the other factions needed to work together in an uneasy truce to keep them at bay.

I think most of the hate boils down to
- the Witch's Manor set is a pile of burps and not much else
- the witch dragon balloon was "not castle enough" and again a crappy build with the bottom part being basically one big half ball piece.

Lol. I had wanted one for a while and was recently in a Target where someone had ripped the corners of a bunch of bags looking for the ones they wanted and thrown the rest of the bags on an end cap. Some LEGO stores have them sorted for you. All you have to do is ask and they have them behind the counter all sorted. Brick Exchange stores I've found charge an extra dollar or two if your looking for a particular minifig. The employees are good at knowing what is what in the bags. I was never good at it. Last time I did that I did score two of the limited policemen but knew where they'd be in new boxes.

How well do nostalgiabait sets like Galaxy Explorer, Benny's Space Squad etc. actually sell? I bought like ten of Benny's and am considering getting a second Galaxy Explorer, but generally speaking how well do these perform? I just am baffled as to why they don't literally just make a lineup of curated old sets like Classic Space, Castle, Pirate, Blacktron etc. since they just look so much better even if redesigned than anything else modern LEGO. I don't buy new sets if there's no classic smiley.

I think the last non-remake set I bought was the one that had the modernized Spyrius droid.

I've never seen that sign. It might've meant something at one time (I don't think Wal-Mart did until at least the late 1990s) but everyone sells LEGO now. Hell, I can go to the local supermarket now to check for the newest blind bag minifigures.
