I see them getting rid of printed instructions as a step in the wrong direction. I'm already reading shit on my phone and devices already why the fuck would I want to do it when I'm building Legos when I could watch porn, tv, talk to people or meander about in general on my phone instead of building Legos. At this point Lego should just make their own full blown Minecraft rip-off and just let us build Legos in a digital space if they're trying to Jew out so much on shit that doesn't affect them that much because they're trying to go green. Fuck going green it's not possible because you see shit holes like California having power outages all the time now and then electric cars are 10x more expensive than normal cars, none of this going green shit should affect hobbies.

i have lots of these stackable boxes from ikea filled with miscellaneous parts that aren't system. my system stuff i have separated into two boxes with one having all the basic blocks and the other system parts like plates with studs, doorframes and other. oh and one giant box with all my Bionicle and Hero factory parts mixed in with big technic plates

Printed instructions make it a bit easier for me since I’m color blind. The online instructions really put a strain on my eyes. Even after adjusting the contrast settings. When I was younger Lego didn’t have as much colors so it was pretty simple. Black, Dark Bluish Grey, Dark Reddish Brown, and Dark Red are the ones I always mix up.

The Corner Garage is the only one I don't have and don't plan on buying. Something about that one just says it doesen't belong with any of the others. I'm yet to see it pictured along with another modular and look good.

i have it, got it just for completionist autism. its not awful, but its undoubtedly the weakest of the newer eras (PR onwards). if you like modulars youd probably still enjoy the builds but its definitely the one to skip. i agree with >>10184085 that the police station has been the best in recent years

I buy those Sterelite sets of 24 drawers but they got expensive a while back. When I first started buying them they were around $30 each. When they peaked at $50+ I stopped buying them. They have come down a little but geez I'd rather spend my money on LEGO. Also Sterelite has changed the designs of their 3 drawer systems this year so they dont stack very well with the older style 3 drawer systems. I bought out all the local Walmart and Target stock of the old stuff and now all they have is the new style. Amazon wants crazy money for the old style. These storage solutions know they can get top $$ for this stuff and it is so cheap to make. I have probably 80-100 pounds of yet unsorted LEGO to get through. Always an uphill battle.

Yea, I was going to get it just to say I have them all but it just does NOTHING for me. I build the modulars once and then I see how I can expand on them. I usually tear a good part of it apart to make major modifications. They are still recognizable but enlarged. The Italian resteraunt I added a huge out door deck out back. The Palace Cinema I added a back room for storage and an office along with a sandwich shop on the first floor. I think getting out of a show and being hungry and naturally there would be a sandwich shop right there on the corner. After seeing so many cities look the same I decide to modify modulars moving forward. I build them to spec but then change em up. I like the uniqueness.

It's funny you should say that because the year before the Police Station modular was released I built my own Police station modular and posted it here to one of the challenge threads. Then a couple months later they released the images of the Official LEGO station. Side by side the resemblances are uncanny. And yea I naturally put a donut shop in my build too. Cause cops like donuts. The following year I built a modular hospital but two modulars wide (Just looked better) I didn't dare release any photos because LEGO was to have been roumered to be working on a hospital. I think that was last year when the Hotel came out.

I'm in the process of lighting up my city with street lamps to start. I think doing the modulars is tough due to the fact I like to lift floors up to show people the insides. I know they make the magnetic catch wireless systems for this but that's a bit too rich for my blood. I do agree that they look good lit up. Just can't remove floors as easily.

Now that the modular leaked, are there any other unknowns for next year? GWP sets notwithstanding. Feels like there aren't any "new" themes incoming, unless I forgot something important. Still rather unusual I feel, Lego often has at least something new to drop. Was Avatar supposed to be that?

Actually just finished most of my storage/sorting. All of my bricks, Technic, and Bionicle got sorted into 4 of those IRIS USA drawers. Got a pair that's 50/50 on large and small drawers, and another pair that's all bigger drawers. Works wonders, and I've got a few extra bins still to fill out with some of my other parts as I break down some other sets for sorting. May get one more down the line to cover the rest of the System I have still boxed away.
Otherwise? Got a tackle box for some smaller parts that I have in small amounts, and threw a bunch of random bits (Bionicle masks, large silver weapons) into gallon bags. Works pretty swell.

This reminds me of what the other anon was saying last thread. While I like the blocky early years of Lego Star Wars, that might have been peak era. Congrats though anon, that's a great deal.

If I had to guess I'd say because the sets are designed to be stackable for combining them into a hogwarts, so the grated plates let some light through to the lower floors

I think that 31120 does a better job at representing classic castle sets.
10305 is too big, too complex, tries a little too hard to look "realistic", its overall layout does not resemble old sets.
And it costs 400$, while this one is 100$. A ~200$ middle ground between these two sets could've worked a lot better as an anniversary set.

Wow, looks like Harry Potter is popping off again.

3 imperial shuttles, a set that is re-released a thousand times, won't be worth anything.

One of those $170 Mandalorian ship sets, it's a garbage set that will be on the clearance isle within a year.
Ninjago crap, unless it's the very early Ninjago, it ain't worth shit.
Disney crap, unless it's the Disney Castle, it ain't worth shit.
That shitty Harry Potter set that will be on clearance next year (the green building, Ministry of Magic)
Batman movie sets, shitty sets from a shitty movie that are already on clearance and won't ever be worth anything, because no one will care about this movie or its products a year from now.
2 Inquisitor Transports. Another mediocre Star Wars set from a mediocre tv series, a set that I've already seen on clearance at Costco for $65.
2 Mandalorian Helmet sets, a set that just came out, and will be on clearance / discount in a year or so just like all the other Helmet sets have been. Might actually be worth $100+ a few years from now after retirement.

This is undoubtably one of the WORST hauls I've ever see, the choices in sets are abysmal and not anything that will ever generate a lot of money in resale value. 0/10, this retard needs to learn how to pick better sets to hoard.

Big ol' fuck you tank is a self contained play set with a total of four vehicles. Additionally, unique features such as lights and sounds elements that made original IPs captivating to spergy kids have been relegated to a uncreative video game company that aren't compatible in menial way to other lines.

This is one rare case when I kind of wish I lived in the US. I had to pay full 100$ for it, and even that seemed relatively affordable. Its average price here was 160$ a few months ago, and it's not even listed on Lego.com in my region right now.

they are pretty cool, and unsurprisingly they work as great building parts packs with doors, windows, basic bricks for walls and lots of interesting pieces for detailing, so if you get bored of them you can just make your own buildings instead
i dont think the value is terrible either, both in terms or price per piece and what you actually get (a complete, closed up on all sides building with tons of details)

Look at the fuck-all they did for the AotC anniversary, we got a single Jedi Starfighter with Kaminoan minifig. That's all we got for that. I mean I guess you could count the Republic Gunship UCS but that was from 2021. They could have at least given us a Jango Fett's Slave I.

Out of all the things, I predict a Speeder Bike UCS set will be what we get. Everything else has been done or isn't really viable.

I mean I don't even understand why the Tie Bomber is a "Return of the Jedi" stamped set, it doesn't even appear in that movie as far as I can remember, only in Empire strikes Back.

SNOT isn't "Make everything smooth as shit", it's just "Use part in a way that isn't just stacking 2x4 bricks on top of one another". Something like this nearly-20 year old build from 2005 would be considered using SNOT for things like the smoke deflectors, the front buffers, and the upside down minifig chair for the smokebox despite it being littered with visible studs.

I just bought pic related and after I finished building I ended up with +4 leaf parts and a ton of extra leek pins. Did I miss something or is that normal? I just filled up the top, but it would bug me if I missed something.

Really fun build, other than the leaves part, if you guys haven't built one. I got it for cheap too. I found it under a shelf at Walmart and got it for 170.

Generally-speaking you'll get a spare of every 1x1 element that either aren't full-brick height or full 1x1 width. Obviously applies to things like 1x1 tiles and plates, but also clips, sometimes bars, or other minifig accessory/adornment pieces like the carrot stems. I don't know which leaf piece you got a spare of; if it's pic related it could fall under the small-piece criteria, but if you're talking about the larger oldschool foliage pieces it's probably because the treehouse was - I believe - the debut set for those pieces being cast from plant-based plastic and they probably included spares in case they couldn't handle the shipping/retail experience as effectively.

Yeah its the big pieces. It's honestly no big deal, it looks great and was wonderful build. I am just anal, I know about the small piece rule and keep it in mind, but when I end up with extra, I am grateful, but also bugged by "Did I do it right?" Then I usually either bag the extra if I ever want to resell it in the box or put them on the display, but even then know it isn't perfect bugs me. I can't create I like following instructions to a T.

Honestly, the extra leaves made the top a lot prettier, but the fact that it isn't prefect... it's maddening...
