From what I can tell it was a common issue with the vintage 12 inch Vader. I looked on eBay and a lot of the ones on there are missing their arms. I think Vader with no arms in of itself has a lot of character though. I know RetroBlasting actually has one that he uses for a lot of funny skit type videos he does. You should check him out.

Interesting stuff. I will check him out for sure. It’s strange, because in the Start Wars movies Vader loses his arms when he falls down a giant hole after fighting Qui Dong Jim. Very poetic.
