Well looks like there's a new weapon pack for the middle earth weapons ( like the Ninjago ones where all the parts come in one pack always bundled together) and I reckon this set will come with 2 at least of said pack looking at all the weapons we can see. It'd be very weird to make a pack like that for one set. Hell it's unusual for such a big set, hoping for system sets too. I can see an orcish looking sword, a dwarfish axe, a broken sword, a non-brokrn sword, an eleven weapon and what might be sting.

Lego doesn't produce new molds if they don't intend to use them in future sets. Only time they do it is CMFs. The Daily Buggle said for example, Mark Stafford said the set had to bring some villains in the winter wave first for a reason for so many new prints and molds excuse. This has nothing to do with Bionicle shit.

Lol, they gave Frodo additional pieces so he can sit. Gandalf and Elrond as well.

It looks like they've created a new weapon accessory pack like for Ninjago sets. With that and Aragorn not being in his most recognisable outfit would make you think there are more sets on the way, and 5 years ago there may have been.

But now I don't think so and I can only say; what a shame.

Honestly super unimpressed with Rivendell.
Feels way too flat, no waterfall, the entire area being on the same ground level just feels wrong
The set also "feels" small, I "feel" like the Lion Knights Castle is larger and more substantive regardless of piece count
Also have fun doing the 1x1 tiles on the roof
Easy pass and 500$ saved for me.

Lego feels like it could match up perfectly with a kind of modular miniature system for D&D type games

An assortment of weapons and gear and armors etc to equip as you actually find those items with associated stats, actually see your gear on your character, track enemy movement. Miniatures without the painting and significantly more modular. Almost seems like a nobrainer.

I doubt for even a fucking second LEGO is smart enough to make it a theme. They've had every opportunity to make other good things a theme but instead make them pricey one-offs or GWPs like Galaxy Explorer, Lion Knights, Blacktron and Bionicle, not to mention Nintendo definitely has them by the balls about specifics relating to it and take a huge cut of the profits so they definitely won't do more than just the one set. I fully expect it to be all we get, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

I strongly believe that display sets made from a nonillion pieces are a misuse of parts. Raised façades should be on duplo bricks. You couldn't ever notice if a UCS landspeeder or superstardestroyer or khuutu snorgka's skiff was a few hundred pieces covering a cheap blow molded base.

I can't believe those are actual modern lego sets.
It might be just nostalgia, but these set photos radiate energy of the 2008 line for me, in a good, soulful way. I genuinely feel like i'm looking at pre-2010's lego again and that those sets would fit perfectly on the same shelves with the old ones. Even the box design being colorful, attractive and detailed feels so warm.
It's sad that it's wasted on an expensive as shit license instead of an original IP. I'd buy those without even thinking once if not for that.

The pieces are lower quality and come apart accidentally sometimes but if you’re just using it as a display piece, you literally cannot tell the difference unless you look very closely at it. It’s been years (pre-Covid) since I bought it so I unfortunately don’t know where the best place to buy now is.

I have a fear that a Zelda theme would be mostly BotW/TotK. It feels like older games increasingly have a harder and harder time getting love by Nintendo. I could imagine TLG only got OoT content because they were clever in what to base this coming set on. That then makes me imagine the next set would be the Temple of Time, which could be another BotW/OoT set that gets us Adult OoT Link, maybe King Rhoam, and we could only hope OoT Zelda Minifigs. I meam the current set up is a nice way to get multiple games represented in less sets, but I wonder if they will really be allowed to do sets based on older games by themselves or just without a BotW/TotK tie in. I'd like to be wrong, because while I like BotW not every neat thing in the Zelda universe has a parallel in BotW.

Life on mars always feels surreal to me. I missed out on early 2000s because my town's toyshops only stocked retired sets. Then I got a discount bin Rock Raiders CD and a few sets, and the next time I heard of Lego outside of bonkles were Knights' Kingdom (II) knights. I saw martians in lego racers 2 and my brain didn't bother understanding their existence.
Those weird sand colors make me think of catalogs printed in the wrong color, or badly mixed plastic, or bootleg bricks, and new age music. Paradisa makes me feel the same minus Enya.

In my experience Enlighten, Kazi and Cobi are the best. Sometimes even better plastic quality/durability than Lego
SZ, Ligao and Sluban are good. Some Ligao minifigs have limited hand movement but thats all. Accesories were great no issues at all.

I have several dacta and education sets from the early 2000's that I was able to yoink from my district when they were phased out with the help of the SPED administrator who I was in real close connection with. I wanted to pay for them but they told me to just take them, which was based in retrospect. It's mostly duplo, technic, and a fucking table and wall hanger thing. They're buried in a storage container right now but in a couple months if I remember I'll try to dig them out and take some pictures of the boxes, trays, and print collateral, because even I never really took the time to look them over.

Forgot to take photos of it now. Couple of things, if they had made it then the face would have been a 2x2 jumper tile with the printed eyes and mouth. What you need to know is that there are independent brick manufacturers and separate brands that sell sets where some lines use bricks from one manufacturer. Currently, GoBricks is considered the highest quality knockoff brick manufacturer and you should look for brands/sets that use these bricks. Generally, more recent batches mostly have better brick quality than earlier ones. GoBricks are used by most Chinese brands, but also by Germany based BlueBrixx. Polish company Cobi produces its own bricks in Poland which are also good. Cobi bricks have a very tight fit and are hard to separate.

This time, I accidentally set the wrong program, and it brought the water up to 95 C. It turns out that some LEGO plastic starts to go soft above 80 C or so.

My poor 8479 is lost forever.

I think it might be partly because of the exposed studs, which create a blocky abstract aesthetic (ie Lego-ish) compared to >>10266060. There are also fewer colours (most of the ship visible from the outside is the brown hull plus the dark grey frame, with a few gold details) and the colours are more physically separated, while in the other one you have dark tan, light tan, dark orange, and white all close together, which are also more similar to each other than brown and grey for example. Generally my opinion is that the more realistic it looks, the more out of place the unrealistic minifigs are, whether that realism is the colour scheme, the shape of the design, or the level of detail. This also applies to the level of detail on the minifig's printing. If you were to make MOCs realistic and detailed enough, eventually the blocky shape of the minifig itself would clash with its smooth realistic surroundings.

I use the ultrasonic because I have it anyway, it does a much better job than chemical cleaners, and you barely need to rinse the parts because there are no chemicals involved. It's very low effort and better results, as long as you don't boil your LEGO.

Everytime I look at this set, my mind flips on whether this set is awesome or just bad. The dragon head on wall is great but the castle as a whole is so barebones and not cohesive, as if it's like an early precursor to fright knight's set 6087 that's also just a random mishmash presented as a castle.

$500 is a lot for a toy but not really of money in general. Not quite throw away, but a game system, weekend getaway, new tool, 2 days of work for most adults.

I would like it much better at $300 but it looks incredible, is my wife’s favorite thing in the world, is probably 100 hours worth of hobby time, and will retain its value if we ever do need to sell.

Mom got the kids a knock off this Christmas. Came without a box and was not what was pictured by have to say really impressed.

Texture, solidness, and connection were great. All much better than mega. Design / aesthetic not as good as Lego but if someone could get a hold of that type of plastic and make better modular sets again it could be a big hit.

I kind of want to do it and make modular fantasy /medieval boxes where the bricks have an aesthetic cohesion and you make your own stuff.

Of all the current themes, Ideas is the most appropriate. Could've been an Icons set but it doesn't seem detailed enough.
A phone booth is a very random one-off thing so it's perfect for the Ideas theme.
