I remember reading through the communication when they initially went from changing VIP to the 6.5 points a dollar system and it really looked like like they would make "silver members" the next standard. That with the engagement of alternate builds that is constantly presented and the other changes to the structure of LOA, I really have no clue what is going on however.

For us, it was a rare issue that we didn't have the part somewhere however it's probably cutting costs. We used to be able to give associates sets that came in damaged on delivery (eg not saleable product) and now it is "The property of TLG and not to be given to anyone for any reason". LP has been cracking down hard and maybe 8 managers in our district have been fired for one reason or another.

I know they're newer but I really liked the Harry Potter book sets but I was under the impression most people hated them. They remind me of Mighty Max/Polly Pockets and I'd enjoy delve more into that type of design. The similar Disney storybook sets are shit though.

Most of the mech armour is just existing technic/system combo pieces, or shit like the hockey helmets from those weird large scale sets

I had this when I was a kid. After I built it my dad hung it from a shelf over my tv with fishing line like it was flying. The trans green parts would reflect the headlights coming through my window from the cars going by and I always thought it was really neat.

If there was some way to split the light or have multiple pressed at the same time, I think a bunch of cords feeding into a central compartment or a super weapon would be a good use of the light tubes and bricks. Hard to really use elsewhere otherwise.

Ninjago City Gardens is the most flimsy, janky, unplayable piece of shit that I've ever bought out of nu lego. You gotta take off seven fucking structures if you ever you wanna do anything with the bottom apartments. The yellow museum on top is a gigantic piece of shit that falls apart in your hands. Holy shit those pricetags.
$300+ for 5 sets. 1541 pieces total.
That's basically 20 cents per part if you buy them all.

Those jeeps are pretty weak representations of the movie vehicles compared to a lot of MOCs out there. The aesthetic is different from the sets they already released in the past. All the sets are definitely covered in stickers. Lego getting cheap again.

I'm going to wait for more pictures but from what I'm seeing here it's just not worth it. I'll just buy the inevitable bootlego versions for half the price. Ironically their quality keeps going up while lego's keeps going down.

Space police had the better run. Cool aliens, cool getaway cars, cool paddy wagons. Power miners felt like a shitty Rock Raiders, my favorite theme growing up, but seeing the counter-spinning drill got me into planetary gearing.
I liked some stuff from atlantis but the color scheme is boring, it's fucking firecar bright red but it looks muted and dull. Alien conquest always looked incomplete to me and I also have a strange dislike for that era of citizen designs.

I just saw this and compared to the actual Porsche 911 piece the price is ridiculous. Some of the reviews have pictures and it doesn't look bad either.

Which is weird, because not making the legs separate would seem like it would make the mold required cost a lot more than if it was the body and 4 legs because of the dimensions required. Maybe they figured something out and it costed out cheaper and they opted for that.

Going through the BL voting choices, and I know there is a Castle/Modular bias when people vote for non-licensed MOC designs, but man there are not many interesting designs outside of those choices this time around. As a big rig driver myself I had to get my hands on this set years ago. Love the detail on the side paneling and the sleeper bunk. I get that they couldn't actually fit the bed across the back like in real semis but it still works for me.

This thing has gotten pretty expensive and hard to find in the U.S. You would think more of em would be around being an American styled semi and not a Euro one like most lego system trucks. It's weird how lego city traffic and construction has gone in the opposite direction of other themes by dumbing em down from the awesome cranes and trucks from the 2000's and 2010's.

I was lucky to find a deal on it years ago. Box was in horrible shape and the hand cart as well as a pair of minifig legs were missing. But since I was only interested in the truck itself it was a bargain. There have been one or two City sets recently that seemed to do a halfway decent tractor. The ones pulling a dragster and a boat looked well enough but the one I got seemed like the best.
I also liked the Yard Jockie truck in this set. I see those things zipping around almost everyplace I pick up from and this is an amazingly accurate looking build.

I can't speak for the others, but I have the one from the 2005 set with Anakin's Starfighter from the opening of Episode III and I just so happened to build it again recently. In short: it's pretty good looks-wise (although with quite a few stickers). However, its articulation isn't perfect and some of its posing requires taking off the wings and head and putting them back on in a slightly different position.

Orcs look awsome, i hate every mini beside some animal molds that isnt minifigure, because they just look like a toy for 4yo. Im aware that minifigs are also just toys for kids but with the fact that you can customize them with parts/tonsils they can look cute, evil, heroic, ect. Right has the better colorscheme, but Left has the better minifig selection (Smileys are great and all but the very early 90s train staff torsos suck ass, and the blue with red jacket look is so much better)

I'm not a fan of the red but I think it has the better colors overall. There are white accent parts in it while in the yellow one they're just, well yellow, and blend in with the building. The guard rails and luggage carrying vehicles also have more appropriate colors, even the newspaper vending machine is made up of two colors in the red set while in the yellow it's just yellow. To say nothing of the package BG art which is is virtually absent on the yellow..
