If I ever saw Keaton's bat-ears scraping the canopy roof, I certainly never noticed it before.

I'm amused by the idea of the canopy automatically opening back up whenever it senses it's being obstructed by the ears, and Batman throwing a minor shit-fit at being slowed down.

When closed, the canopy sits flush against that little rim there on the back, which the ears are taller than.

Don't fall for these companies telling you how much things cost. Ignoring development costs (which aren't insubstantial), and mold costs (probably under 50k), per unit these probably cost something around 5-10 dollars after paint, prints, and whatever else. An action figure we buy for 30-40 probably costs a few cents per unit, and much less in mold costs.

I ordered mine as soon as it went up. Was waiting on the page after the mcfarlane toys account post. I watched out of curiosity and it was still up for preorder 30 minutes later. You have to be more watchful when you know things should be dropping.

You need to skew the proportions to make it look "right". Hot Toys basically got the proportions right, but it didn't look as dynamic because you always saw it at an angle where it looked more curved than it actually was in reality

Said fuck it and ordered the "Keaton" Batman too. I'll just take a stab at ordering a 3d printed head that looks better and try painting it myself. The pics of the car show the windshield both lifting up and coming forward. Did it do both in the movies or is it just to have options on how you open it up?

On one hand I just ordered a fucking 22 inch car that I have no room for. On the other it's the 89 Batmobile for 60 bucks and that's honestly a steal for how cool it looks. I know it's not 100% accurate but it's so damn close to me that I don't mind. I figure they took some liberties to make it function better as a toy.

"Softer sculpting" is what everyone says when they want to criticize something without even being able to say what they're criticizing. Criticize the fact that the wheel has Batman looking straight at the bar in the middle of the windshield or that the cockpit was made taller to fit 7 inch figures, but don't criticize nebulous things

No it's not. It's literally McFarlane Toy's biggest problem since they started back up with articulated figures. The toys have shit, soft sculpts.

In am interview a while ago Todd explained how the big violator back in 2000s costed like $15 and Todd barely made any profit but he was happy his fans had the figure and he saw it as advertising. He said he knew he would lose profit but he knew it would give him good reputation

The bottom one (which I assume is McFarlane's) is much more visually interesting. It's slimmer, swoops deeper, curves more, the intake is larger and more swept-back, it just looks built for speed. The Hot Toys looks almost clunky by comparison. When it comes to shit like this, I prefer the dynamic version (which is more like my memory of the film).

size means more molds. size also increases shipping costs.

Plus it's a store exclusive, which just about doubles its price, as they're going to produce far less than what a walmart or Target would order from them. Same reason convention exclusives cost as much as they do.
