Since Hasbro is bringing back Battlemasters for the Rotb toyline, any chance they'll do more little guys for Legacy? There are still more Targetmasters, Micromasters and Minicons to be made.

I got snaptrap when he was reissued, didn't get the rest, mulling if he's worth the price, since from what people say, he's pretty underwhelming. Mostly interested since I'm a sucker for sea creatures and combiners. Did they fix the problem of cracked pegs on Overbite and Nautilator?

I've got Blazck Zarak, Autobot Ark, and Guardian Robot. Zarak definitely takes first prize for me. Someone in another thread described him as looking like a final boss and I agree. Someone else mentioned some of his gold parts could have breakage but he's seemed great for me so far.

heh yeah, that really isn't that bad but... the hands transforming (though that's more than the zilla gets with his 'pretend you can't see one mode's hands while in the other mode') and that flail that basically only looks good slung over one shoulder, not to mention the legs that look nothing like cat legs.. and again, just a guy standing up. really not ideal. bird's way better.

Still pissed off that they didn't leave this as Megatron's alt mode in the movie; hell, he still had dragon kibble and a flamethrower in robot mode for the final release. The model was clearly ready on time - enough so that all they had to do was tack two extra heads onto it before shoehorning the thing as an Autobot combiner instead, so if they weren't going to remove it from the film entirely, why go through the effort of modifying it, rewriting the script to make it work as an Autobot, and creating a whole new alt mode for Megatron from scratch?

I got all three of the individual releases for these today and they're all pretty neat little guys, big fan of little weaponizer/targetmaster guys that aren't just the usual folding over transformation. The plastic feels pretty solid for being mainline releases too, about the same as Generations rather than the cheapo kind they used for Earthspark.

Judging from Primal and Airazor, probably a new mold that shares the same transformation scheme - he doesn't have the fake jaw on his chest, and while his legs look like a slightly more simplified version of the Kingdom mold, it's more or less the same idea with one or two fewer panels. Everything else looks roughly the same for the torso, just sculpted with more greebles; the beast head even still hangs off his back despite the new line making a point to hide beast heads this time around.

Season 3 wasn't as good as season 2 because of stuff like that. There was more weirdness but I forget most of it. Something about Megatron becoming Transmetal just because he fell in lava with G1 Megatron's spark. Im pretty sure they had plans for more of Tigerhawk but it got cut short.

It really hits all the story beats, doesn't it? It's basically "What if Optimus Prime didn't die and just did a speedrun of the whole movie plot on easy-mode while the season 3 cast all gets humiliated/killed off" which is pretty much one of the most creatively bankrupt "what if?" story scenarios I've ever seen. One of the biggest reasons the '86 movie still holds up for me is because it's about the Autobots struggling to survive against all these new threats without their leader.

i do agree though the continuity thing was a very silly idea. and it would have worked a lot better had they adapted the dairanger suits. those were a really good followup to the zyu suits, but ahh it's all in the past now. and also in another thread

Optional cleaner backpack because of optional partsforming and better articulation, she got waist swivel, ab crounch and ankle rockers, I miss the legs from the legends/T30, but it is an upgrade (once you add the missing paint).

Shes just missing wrist swivels and a deployable visor like ss86 Hotrod to be a "definitive" version.

Preach. I've only gotten into collecting Transformers recently and fembots that aren't just Arcee or a male Transformer with a ladies name are annoyingly few and far between.
I ended up buying the botcon Airazor redeco of the Legends Slipstream because somehow it's the cheapest non-Windblade version of this mold I was able to find online.

It's certainly pricier than I'd've liked, but I'm happy to have made the purchase. I'd like to pick up the Slipstream version of the mold too, but AUD $250+ is frankly objectionable.
Honestly the whole VTOL thing works far better than I expected; the colours and paint application goes a long way to making her still feel like Airazor.
This figure is easily my favourite in my tiny collection so far, but competition isn't exactly fierce. I'm going to have to see if the new RotB Airazor is worth picking up, it would be nice to have a decent bird version of her too.

Thanks for the tip, area I'm in still had them listed full price too but scanning them with the app made them come up $5.00. Nothing exciting though, just finally got Blurr, Burnout, and Road Rocket, as that is all they had.

Due to work I travel a lot between PA, WV, and MD, and it's weird but the smaller towns and cities get stuff while the bigger areas are just cleaned out/nonexistent. I saw Cosmos at Unintown PA Walmart three times but going up to Pittsburgh PA I never saw much of any of Velocitron stuff in there 8+ Walmarts. Saw multiple cases all at once of wave two of Velocitron at Flatwoods WV two months ago and they sold very slowly, even Galaxy Shuttle, but down in Charleston and Huntington WV it was a rare sight if at all. That said, I normally shop in the early morning so I might be suffering a form of availability heuristic where all the stores appear as they do because of when stock is put out. For all I know those Cosmos I saw at Unintown left shortly after I was there and Pittsburgh stocks in the afternoon and clears out before morning. There are a lot of factors that go into these sorts of finds and while I do enjoy shopping in store for fun I just order everything I really want online to avoid the headache.

Transformers Generations Combiner War Hot Spot

The final CW torso mold. They only made the three!

Of all the fire trucks Transformers has pumped out, this one has to be the second most fictitious.
Hot Spot's features include;
A weird round front end, to evoke Sentinel Prime from a few years before.
Light bars that weirdly far back.
A door just below them that informs that that this vehicle is fucking enormous.
A jail cell for his own face.
A ladder with a sprayer nozzle and man basket.
Giant giant blasters, for water or lasers or whatever you want.
And eight unpainted clip-on wheels.

I remember we first saw this one with the Victorion poll. I'm pretty convinced it won because it was new.

Silly as the fire truck was I think it all works in service of the robot mode.
I do really like this diet Optimus look. He cuts a strong figure, with the broad shoulders and tall boots.

What I don't like, and this was even more true for the vehicle mode, is the black. It just does not work with the baby blue.
The red looks great. And don't even get me started on that one hit of blue for the Ultra Magnus mouth plate.

I know I never really played with Hot Spot, or the Protectobots at all, much when I got them, but this is some love at first sight stuff. I can't take my eyes off him now.

Once you've worked past that, you'll find that Defensor's blue raspberry filling can do some poses.
Hot Spot's head is ball jointed, for that kind of motion
Shoulders are on a ratchet for swivels and a heavy sort of friction joint for the outwards movement. The kind where it's cut into an octagon or whatever and just pops to each spot. You know what I'm talking about.

Elbow area is a bit weird. There's a hinge at the bicep, and a hinge at the elbow and a swivel in between them. Not sure I've ever seen that anywhere else.

Ratcheting hips with a stiff soft ratchet for outwards movement.
Thighs swivel. Knees only bend to about 60 degrees, and the transformation joint will probably move before the actual knee does.
No waist, no ankles, no wrists unfortunately

You can invert it(pic related), use it as a scorpion tail or as a rail gun/massive shoulder gun.

Shit like this is how you know most TF collectors are plebs; they look at a brilliant chunk of alt mode that gives character and cohesiveness to the robot mode, and label it as "kibble".

As much as I love MP Artfire's clean transformation, it's a bit of a tragedy that the ladder; one of the most iconic elements of a fire truck, is just completely hidden away in robot mode.

the #1 weird thing about beast wars that you never really think about, because it was normal on kids shows back then, and i've mentioned this before, is the UTTER lack of references to their past lives
we know they existed, that they were part of an exploration team, and that the vast majority of the crew chose to go into stasis for the journey. We get a little backstory here and there about rampage and shit, but nothing is ever individual or personal. I think executives back then had a real hateboner for that kind of character-building-via-flashback

plus new models were expensive, so the pre-beast forms were just stripped-down models shot in shadow. or that one 'mega' recycled from reboot (several times i think)

but yeah one does wonder, are names pretty impermanent in their society? i don't know enough about g1 to compare to hot rod / rodimus but I suppose a life change leads to a new name and people just know you as that now
or like orion pax becoming optimus prime, is that kinda the same deal?

I think their names might actually be pretty inpermanent. I know they explain later on that whenever an Autobot becomes a Prime they change their name, which is why Hot Rod became Rodimus, but they definitely did not have that in mind with the whole Orion Pax/Optimus Prime thing in the show, in fact I'm pretty sure at that point Prime wasn't even really a title, it was just his name lol. I guess it does kinda fit, though, maybe an entire race that can change forms and their alt modes at will, probably would just randomly change their names because they just felt like it. I mean they did it again with Bumblebee changing his name to Goldbug, and they did it all the time in the Unicron Trilogy. What makes it more confusing with Beast Wars, though, is that I remember in later episodes it seems like they kind a retconned the fact that they renamed themselves in the first episode, and sort of imply that they always had those names. I think Dinobot was already called Dinobot for instance, so as Tarantulas, which is also just really weird. The whole animal name stuff only made sense for the protoform bots like Tigatron.

another way of looking at it, a race who was created as labor for a higher race, might just be programmed to be fine to be renamed to fit each new role

I believe there was a comic that showed that Dinobot named himself in honor of Grimlock and the G1 Dinobots. Also, yeah, I believe Ravage and/or the Tripredacus guys referred to Tarantulas by name.

That makes sense, but also consider how long their lives actually are. maybe after a million or so years they just flat-out get bored of their names and decide they want to be someone else. They change their name, their alt mode, and so on, and since it's the whole species and not just one or two dudes living that long, it becomes sort of a cultural norm.

My wife and I were watching random stuff I taped on VHS as a kid. On one of those tapes was the last half of the episode of RID 2001 where Scourge is introduced. That was all it took for her to say, "Now this is a proper fuckin' anime." We started watching the fansub and I ended up buying a Car Robots Black Convoy from a guy who lived a couple towns over from where we used to live before we moved across the country. Small world. Definitely want to get back to watching that since we had some zany life stuff happen. Definitely planning to get most of the RID/Car Robots figures at some point. I think I might go for the full set of the US releases including Universe and then the Japanese exclusive colors for the Combatrons. Definitely a cool toyline celebrating over a decade of unique molds recolored for fun and one dude in two colors who can take an infinite amount of preposterous forms. Helps that the show can be pretty funny sometimes. If not for that tape I'd be more focused on G1 than anything else.

So the separately released Rhinox Beast Master is getting packaged with Wheeljack as part of the Beast Weaponizers. So maybe Arrowstripe and Chainclaw will get separate releases down the line. This means though that there will probably only be 6 unique Beast Master molds, including the Optimus Primal one from the listings that is yet to be seen.

Because that would mean there's a Wave 4 of the line, and when has that actually happened these days? Assuming they're intending to do a max of 3 waves under the name Legacy Evo, any pipeline reveals would be for Wave 1 of the next line and they aren't going to just casually drop the start of the next line on a stream like this

things have been quite good lately, we're not getting interrupted by spamvertisements, we're not getting as disrupted, and we've had a good solid chain of legit threads with no ambiguity.
