So the last time you went, Pops were barely taking off, so you have no idea of what it was like afterward and are ignoring the fact that conventions generally cater to NOSTALGIA. Hence me seeing the Babylon 5 cast and creator while most of them were still alive, up til like 2019. Saw Farscape and Stargate Atlantis crew during those same years. Saw panels about Gargoyles, XMen: TAS, Animaniacs, B:TAS, S:TAS, etc with creators and crew. Anime has a bunch of nostalgia panels too, because they've re-release old animes on BD
Nevermind most of the larger conventions also have all sorts of toy makers going to them: Jazwares, Hasbro, Eaglemoss, Mattel, LEGO, Mezco, NECA, Kotobukiya, Bandai, Good Smile, Storm Collectibles etc etc all going to show off their new toys. PLUS toy brands like Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe, Marvel, etc etc having their own shit, so there's a lot of nostalgia there too.
I went to a panel about Star Trek battles and got a diecast TNG Enterprise. Was overwhelmed on the quality, great paint and better detail than some models, and it was FREE because Eaglemoss promoted the panel. So i found out about an amazing toyline because i went to some nostalgiafag panel
There's VG shit too, only the largest of the large conventions have official publishers going. The rest depends on the city the convention is held in
Since the worst plague of all time shut down pratically every convention, the reopened ones don't have as many creator old people going ot them. They're not as full, because some conventions make you take a test and wear a mask (thankfully this year's don't have that mandorary, even in California). Pops are dying, so there's less shit from their height. Even the older creators are coming back
