Too bad that Buzz-Off pegwarmed so badly so we'll likely never get a variant. Not only 200X Buzz was cool, we could get to use one as army builders like with Stratos, Mer-Man or Beast Man variants. Now the closest we have is putting on or off the hat.

Unless you use Masterverse Buzz-Off and pretend Origins figures are his tiny soldiers.

At least thanks to Wave 10 and 13 we have one figure for King Randor and one for army builder of his loyal Randoroids.

I'm feeling like glow in the dark is the easiest gimmick to pull off. Evil-Lyn has glowing wand it wasnt even advertised on the box. Scare Glow was a budget toy. Digitino is the only ROTS figure with gimmick. Skeletons are first brand new gimmicky figures in Origins. Even generally gimmickless toylines release gitd variants.

Glow in the dark, transparent plastic and color change are the easiest gimmicks. Next are spring action and rotating action. My guess water squirting and foldout/pull out are easy but complicated gimmicks to work with toy designs.

I dont think that webstors backpack is that easy. You need the rope to work and it should fit imto a pleasing design. Look at SnoitSprouts head.

it seems complex but it really isnt. all it is is a miniature pulley system, a spool of thread on a axel. Spout and Khan both have to deal with fitting squirt gun innards in their heads. Then you get the real complex guys like Sy-klone and Rattlor that have to fit the gimmick into their bodies.

I think the Leo run was 1986-1990, overlapping late vintage and New Adventures.
When they were trying to find the complete newspaper comic for that Dark Horse book, parts turned out to be easiest to find in Indian newspapers because others kept dropping it over time.

Bigmantoys in collaboration with Goodlegtoys iirc.

Both are pretty nice dudes, and if you ask nicely, and they still have the molds, they'll most likely make you a custom.

They might be out of the game for good by now though. Bigman does fulltime wrestling these days I think. Haven't contacted Goodlegtoys/ Underworldmuscle in years.

I guess imo origins now has the most attention and saturation with each reveal and pre order getting hyped up. I'm not a huge snake men guy but it's fun to see what they put out. I could see the cartoon stuff really grabbing my eye but it's sight un seen so far. It'll be interesting where mattel steers the franchise.

Like, last year, I personally don't think MV even had a contender for best of the year.
This year, all the best figures seem to be Masterverse, while origins has (so far) only 2, maybe 3, i'd even consider as standout.

I'm gonna let whatever they show off at SDCC make my decision for me.
My interest in Origins has been waning, so if they rekindle my excitement with whatever they have lined up for next year I'll stick around but if not I'll walk away and content myself with what I've got in that line. And if I walk away from Origins I'll jump on the Masterverse bandwagon

But I picked up 40th He-man for a bargain, and then found Two-Bad for a decent price online, so I'm just slowly playing catch up grabbing what I really like. But damn, did the Whiplash, Clawful and Buzz-off wave reveals grab me by the balls.
That said, the lack of Snake Men annoys me and I'm probably gonna get the origins Snake Men just because I like reptoids and I am not that autistic about scale.

So far MV has been digging deep into Revelation and New Eternia with occasional She-Ra release. Everybody else just gets main hero and villain.

Slush Head proves they're willing to do more but we have no way of telling if it's a start of trend. I'd say there is 50/50 change. Either Slushy is signal that they will dig deeper into NA or that they will go all over the place and release e.g. CGI Beast Man, Karg and Duplico next.

They'll definitely might do more NA eventually, I just dont know at what rate. Maybe there will be 3 more in next 4 waves. Maybe there will be 1 more 5 waves from now. IDK. Keep in mind they will likely do Revolution now.

I got it on whim and I'm honestly pretty impressed with this thing. Kinda with they made a removable back wall for it instead of the prisoner cage, but opening the gates is so damn satisfying. Love the little turret/vehicles too.

it depends on the kind of creatures you want to pit him against. mattel has you covered on dinosaurs with their hammond collection series, lanard offers all manner of zoo animals through their jumanji line, and now we're seeing odd one offs like the mezco or neca kong figures. The shang chi toyline featured a chinese dragon that's going for 10 bucks on amazon now. There's also the owl bear from the dungeons and dragon toyline. Your best bet for more fantasy beasts will probably be through either marvel or star wars with figures like the Gammorean Guards or bafs like Ursa Major. If you're cool with more generic monsters you could also pick up that mcfarlane stranger things creature for considerably cheap. Like I said it just depends on what you want.

But if you want to just "fix" the toys, the simplest way would be to update the figures so they physically fit in better with the others. Consider how much better the Classics version of NA He-Man reads as an actual version of He-Man compared to the original vintage version.

If anyone cares about how to fix the NA lore so that it fits in better; I would do this by revisiting some of the Dare (He-Ro II) ideas.
First of all, I just like his design better. Maybe its the fact he's got a classic power sword - since that was such an iconic part of He-Man's character it sucks that they changed it for NA. It's obvious what trends they were chasing but He-Man should have his sword not a lightsaber.
This also carries over to the details like his furry boots and the armor crossing over both shoulders. Dare just looks more like a Motu character than the NA redesign of He-Man. Maybe its just me, but it looks like he could fit in with both the old style on Eternia, but with enough updates that he fits into outer space as well.
From a story telling perspective, I like that it is Dare, He-Man's son, going into space and not He-Man himself. This clears up one of the biggest problems people have with the NA - where are all the recognizable faces? Other than He-Man and Skeletor its all new.

Consider this: Dare and some of his friends (Icarius and Hydron) have just graduated from the Royal Eternian Battle Academy. Now their first mission is to venture into space to stop the bio-mechanically mutated Skeletor and his new group of evil space mutants.
This seems like a much more organic story and opens it up to having cameos from the older cast so that it all feels more connected rather than the complete break from everything that NA was.

Thats the interesting thing about MOTU. Alot of cool stuff getd established and most of it is forgotten quickly. Realistically there are 5 seperate outer space factions in the franchise. Cosmic Enforcers, The Horde, The Galactic Guardians, The Space Mutants, and then the joint union of Comet Warriors and Meteorbs. It goes without saying they were all added to MOTU to ape off star wars' successes but nothing much gets done with them outside of the Enforcers who serve as a watcher tier multiversal force in continuity. I guess mattel never did much with the other guys because they didnt want to detract from Heman. Even if you take the NA rights stuff into consideration the enforcers, the horde, and the comet warriors were all fair game.

They're really just final product reveals, as in packaging and the like. We've seen these a long time ago. Adam Looks a lot better here than in those original pics. As usual though, Revelation stuff has a bit of a distinct look, so I'm not sure if I'll want to get it, but we'll see. The single elbows also bother me a bit.

If you want something a bit more realistic, there's the tried and true Revoltech Skeleton
Check ebay, amiami, and mandarake for used ones. I don't think it ever got bootlegged, so you should be save.

Mythic Legions skeletons are pretty big, probably a bit too big for you.

Golden Axe skeletons are very big, defiantly bigger than what you're probably after.

I've yet to get any, but there's Kulu World, HACKS, and Redemption Skeletons

Are there any "must have" figures left in origins for you anons? Now that we have all 6 original Snakemen I'm close to tapped out.
I'm still holding out for Extendar and Rio from the vintage line, and non-vintage I still really want Zodak. Sweet-Bee, Frosta, Castle Grayskull Man, and some filmation filler wouldn't hurt either.
