I genuinely think it's too specific a playset, from too specific a scene, to be something I would have wanted as a kid. I always preferred playsets/dioramas that I could imagine many different adventures/scenes involving. Even the Emperor's Throne Room was a scene I coul always imagine cutting back to just for Palpatine to be scheming while the heroes were doing whatever adventure was happening.

I own a consumer grade 3D printer and it's a $800 purchase that I regret. So many things go wrong. So much wasted plastic that I feel bad from adding more waste to the environment.

I should have gotten a resin printer. Then, I would have been satisfied with cleaner prints.

Hey Michael,
I give props to the person who took the time to create such a nice "playset" but my critique is that it is so huge and spread out.

When you introduced this to us last year, I was shocked at how much space it took up.

Kenner playsets captured moments in the movie and were made easy to store on a shelf or to be put away.

Again, the designer did a good job capturing the 3rd act of Empire but could have shortened walkways and hallways. In short, it's not a playset but a huge diorama that you would see at a convention.

Fair question, but I think Mike has been pretty upfront about the cramped Death Star destroyer and Death Star playsets. He’s a man now so he’s opened up the play set to meet his needs. Maybe Kenner would have produced the Bespin playset in four modules that would have connected together, pretty rad I think.

Go on youtube and look at any resin printer video you'll see the big difference in quality.

PLA 3D printers are good for helmets, vehicles and playsets.
Resin 3D printers are for small scale, highly detailed things.

Reaper Miniatures uses industrial scale resin 3D printers to make some of their minis now, and I got a free sample orc. Having had 3D resin printed shit before, I was skeptical of both its fidelity and durability, but it passes both tests with ease. So the high-end resin, at least, is pretty damn amazing.

If there was an option to ship failed prints somewhere to be recycled I'd consider it.

My worst failed print were wings for a starship about 30cm long/almost 2 days of printing and I felt anger towards making such waste.
