Shout out to the anon in the last thread who got the Boxer and convinced me to also get one, fun build and lots of interior space. Still feels a bit big for CoD figs but maybe less egregious than the Leo 2. Thinking I'll get the M113 at some point too.

Not the anon who asked but thanks for the comparison, saved and much appreciated. Can be noted that Lego often has minute but noticeable variations within its own colors, enough that the dragons won't really stand out on that aspect.

Congrats on the Boxer. It's definetly as fun as an armored wedge can be, with all subtly hinged panels an openable parts.
I am still waiting on my Fennek, hope it will be on the same quality level.

Also recently found out, that Bluebrixx is selling second batch of the bundeswehr sets on their website - this time under their own brand, so they probably won't hit aliexpress this time.
Too bad Bluebrixx won't ship to me, and there are some fun sets, like a medevac varint of the Weasel.

On the bundeswehr-unrelated note, finished this mecha from Sluban last night.

Looks cool, but not as much articulation as i hoped, especially in the arms.
Quality of bricks is regular Sluban, but I'm worried about ball joints in the legs, torso and wings - couple of them are too loose already, don't know how the rest will hold up.
Stability is ok for display, but won't be enough for play probably - already managed to loose two pieces from the right shoulder pad by squeezing it too hard.

Definetly not a license - it's a whole series of mecha sets from Sluban with some seemingly original designs and some being "inspired" by different IPs. There are a gundam-lookalike, a recolor of Gypsy Danger in black, some kind of hulkbuster-meets-master-chief dude and so on.

Hey there! Are there any Lego alternatives to get lots and lots of basic bricks in bulk cheaper with decent enough quality to mix with actual Lego? For more specialized pieces and minifigures I have no problem buying second hand Lego but for general use bricks I feel like I'm not enough of a purist to avoid cheaper alternatives if they exist and it would be nice not having to rely entirely on grimy second hand bricks for my creations.

based, i use mostly buildmoc for some special colors and such but this one is pretty cheap for rarer pieces, i also recommend brickworld, they sell pieces lego has never produced and also pieces in bulk pretty cheap (for example, 100 studs for 1 dollar)

I've just ordered myself a late Christmas gift.
Brand should be QuanGuan, and this Panther looks just beautiful. The shape of the hull and the turret look really good, and better than their previous Panther, and also better than some from Cobi.

Also it has more/better interior than the previous QG tanks, which is why i'm not 100% sure its even from that brand. I guess i will see once it arrives.
56€ for 2100+ parts and 6 figures is quite okay i guess.

They don't allow Mega or Cobi? That's messed up. It's been ages since I bothered looking at eBay for bootlego, and even then it was more stumbling across listings. I remember sellers using "Lxgo" a lot to evade the algorithms, so it was that long ago.

After being stuck somethere in China for almost a month, my Fennek is finally here.
Very similar to the Boxer in terms of construction - a lot of panel subassemblies, which are being held in place with a lot of hinges at specific angles. Some parts were a bit fragile during the build, but in the end everything fitted together and became stable.
There are some interior details with three seats for the crew and detailed engine in the back.
The only real con is the lack of any wheel articulation. I was expecting at least a steering simulation, like on the Boxer.

Not bad, size-wise it's harder to give a pass than the Boxer when alongside figs tho. Haven't ordered it yet but I'll get the M113 eventually; meanwhile I've got a pile of CoD-style vehicles built recently, need to take some pics but we'll see if I can get that done tomorrow. Pic semi-related, was the first such vehicle I ordered a couple years back alongside its Mega ancestor and was generally satisfied with it (there's a bit of an illegal connection in the front but not a dealbreaker for me).

I bought a variety of minifigures, and the majority was delivered today.

Among them, the highlight is this set of Black Falcon Knights:

12 figures with high quality with good prints and accessories for just below 6€.
Not pictured are the rest of them, all of their swords and the dogs. But its all there.
Their cloaks are actually plastic pieces, and not the usual cloth. Very nice.

The worst ones were the 4 Game of Thrones "Bolton" spearmen (luckily i only got the set of 4, not 10):

The quality of the figure and the prints is good, but the spear/banner is twice as long as a regular Lego spear, the cloak/armor piece does not allow the quiver to be equipped, and the shield is HUGE. A tower shield the size of the Black Falcon ones would have done it just nicely.

The others are quite good. I already knew the Space Marines quality, but i wanted to have all "colors", Hitler and his buddy are printed very nicely, even his Luger has a printed handle in wood color and the Baratheon Spearman is also quite nice (and his gear has way better proportions than the Bolton guy), however, he comes with 2 cloth cloaks that don't align well.

The Boltons are show accurate, the Chinese have been pretty good about that with the GoT figs in general. I appreciate that they give you the option to equip the soldiers as spearmen or archers - the latter won't have the heavier armor anyway. On the subject of Space Marines, don't forget the chapter banners heh.

I agree, they are very faithful. I've seen there are Alyn and Lannister figures too. Maybe 10 years after the show we will have all the houses available.

And i actually ordered a set of 40k weapons, including a banner (i suspect it to be cloth), but the listing was removed from Ali, and its still in transit. I'll post a picture once it shows up.

There's a set of four banners out there, got mine in recently and they are cloth, they come with little double-sided sticky squares to mount them on the provided poles with a selection of aquilae to top em off.

There's two different styles out there, right-side seems to be taking off more and in general is the better design, though you can't push the pauldrons all the way down or it will impede the Marine's ability to raise his weapons effectively.

Do you remember or can you check on your order how the banner set was worded ? Same for the weapon set.
It might help to find it again if pushed by another store.
Leyile Brick custom space marines used a mix of both type plus these extra accessories.

Already looking at sourcing a couple more OG Wolfpack figs for the shields, won't be cheap but I'll give their little warband a few horsemen I think. Also got a set of the Forestmen shields for the little peasant rabble at the back.

Looking for 6038 sets might be the best option, as it includes two figures and it sometimes can be found for 18-25€ whereas individual figures often are 10€ already.

But yeah.. lets hope the chinese will do a set of 4-5 figures for Wolfpack at some point.

They've done pretty much every classic Castle faction except Wolfpack and Forestmen, seems they're about due and the shields is a good portent. Feels too easy to build up armies now, though there's a Bulls king fig on horse with nice barding I'm tempted to get.
