It's even worse, they did paint it but the wrong fucking color. They made his nose and the black marks around his eyes this weird light brown almost pink color. It makes absolutely no sense.

If that were they case all they'd have to do is leave the black marks off the eyes, they could still make the nose black. Also they would've done something similar to the others, who seem mostly fine with nothing anywhere near as bad as Rahzar.

They released the SDCC exclusive Movie III turtles at walmart. Most likely since the training Keno just relaesed along side the Turtles and Foot packs, they're holding off until the next walmart con in the spring. The first Movie April had a similar exclusive pack with the badge and rain coat but evetually made it to local Walmarts.

Playmates is just cheap with 50% of them. Baxter no longer even has his teeth painted. Yet other toys get fully painted reissues? At least these 4 look okay.

It kinda took the wind out of my sails with completing the SOTO line. I missed out on the Scooter since I don't attend conventions and missed the deadline on the Neca Store preorder because I didn't realize I hadn't added it to my cart with the Movie III turtles. Now it's almost double it's retail price from eBay scammers and without it collecting more side characters feels like a waste.

I think the toys have potential but the way they handled April isn't going to make the series as popular as they think. It didn't work for Rise, so it's not going to work for MM. 2012 kick started the TMNT brand and look how they handled April. Completely new character throughout but she remained a red head whitey. Splinter is another one they have to handle correctly. At least MM is a step up from whatever that shit Rise had.

MM wasn't too bad, but when remove the Hamato Yoshi link to him, it completely loses the credibility of him being a ninja master. You can't have a TMNT series without the rivalry of the two, Yoshi and Saki, to lay out why the turtles are ninjas in the first place. It's a core component just like the turtles have to mutate from beeing exposed to ooze and them being teens and turtles. Everytime they've deviated from those core aspects it ends in failure or mediocrity.

maybe a monthish or so ago I popped in here talking about the NECA movie turtles. I ended up biting and spending 188$ in total on all 4 turtles. It took awhile to get them out of the god damned packaging. I'll be honest, I am incredibly disappointed. The joints are all so stiff that I feel like I'm going to snap elbows and knees of all of them except Mikey.

One of Leo's swords wont stay in the sheath. One slides in and seems to stick in, but the other, regardless of which way I slide the sword in or which sheath wont stay in. Donnie has what I guess is a small string to hold his bow on his back, but the strings are so large the bo just slides right through and isn't held at all. Mikey doesn't have anywhere to put his nunchaku. Also I think the "string" thing piece of plastic holding the chucks together is ALREADY breaking on one. Raphs belt has a side where it's raised up, not glued (I guess glue) to his waist so it looks really bad. The accessories are so limited for how expensive these guys were. each turtle got their weapons, a slice of ugly pizza, an extra bandana knot and tails of their color, and each of them got a new hand for each wrist, at the very least all 4 of them got different hands so I guess since I have all 4 I can technically mix and match a total of 8 different hand poses between them.

I dunno, the faces and paint actually kinda looks off, like less detailed than the preview images and even the images on the boxes they came in. The 90s movie defined my childhood and it's, to this day, still one of my favorite movies to watch ever. I'm not a toy collector, so I might be complaining about things that aren't problems or have an obvious solution. I just kinda feel defeated. I'm kicking myself for not just keeping them in the box.

The usual signs for the bootlegs are the face sculpts being slightly off, a weird yellow shade around the mouth, the shade of green used for the skin, and other paint details being off such as on the plastrons and the skin spots.

For stiff joints, either heat the joint with a hair dryer, or dunk it in hot water for a minute and wiggle the joint back and forth. Be careful not to burn yourself with the water.

Secondly, I'm surprised that you'd have an issue with the paintjob/ how the figures look because that's literally the one good thing about them. Calling them stiff also makes me think you most likely don't have bootlegs (there are ways to definitely confirm this) as they would more likely be loose than stiff. The official ones can be retardedly stiff until you break them in (and they still are after that) which I suggest multiple rounds of hairdrying a specific joint and working it while its hot, and repeating the process over a few days if the joint continues to be harder than youd want

Leo's scabbards/ the retarded strings on Donnies back have issues around the block because neca has zero concept of quality control or smart action figure design (or at least they didn't back then). I don't think Leo's swords are really meant to "stay" in though whatever you mean, it's not like that's ever an issue unless you literally hold the toy upside down, as long as you get them to slide into the scabbards. As for Don I just tuck the staff into the actual leather strap by tugging it up on the figure and then tugging it back down to tighten it up. For Michelangelo you can easily fit the nunchaku under his armpits where the belt is naturally loose and off

I felt like the accessories were adequate but, they also sold an accessory pack, unfortunately very limited release, so we're all fucked there.
Maybe show pics, if you got bad ones.. then that blows but the ones most of us got look great. it's entirely possible that, due to you buying the final unsold dregs, you just got the rare ones with paint errors.
I will agree leo's swords are fragile and have to be treated with care, but I think that was unavoidable without making them stupidly thick. and don's bo-storage absolutely needs to be modified by the user, yeah. it's a silly ribbon, zero friction. I threaded a black twist tie in there (With a round cross section so it doesn't look bad)
Splinter's belt is another shitty ribbon when almost anything would have worked better. I replaced that one with a tie too.
thankfully splinter comes with another nunchaku so maybe that will help you if you nab him next

The thickness on the doors and roof are too thin for the price. I like the Super7 van a lot and it looks great, but my complaints would be that those areas are way too thin to be considered premium, and the "scuffed" silver paint in the front is stupid and badly applied.
Overall I really like the design, less rounded looking in person than the original renders made it seem to me (I was not a big fan of the rounded look). But I do think the thin plastic is inappropriate for the price. Its not brittle or low quality feeling plastic or anything so I honestly don't think it will snap or break, but it should have been thicker to give the doors and roof more rigidity, at least twice as thick. Or both areas should have had a separate inner wall. Neither the roof or doors have a satisfying feel when you close them.
The orange and yellow areas on the outside could use an extra highlight or shading paint app. The silver brushed scuffs look extra retarded when they didn't try to give any other outside features detailing
The pizza spinners look better than I thought, I may use them. Boombox is cool but other accessories aren't important to me I guess.
I'm glad i got it, stoked on it, but should have been cheaper. It will make a great display piece with the Super7 figs, but they could have made it a whole lot better by not cheaping out on wall thickness in those areas

I was hoping more Tournament Fighter figs were coming after Armaggon but it seems they just used the license as a backdoor to get that character out and stopped. Assuming they were using a license from the SNES version of the game like they did with the Turtles in Time figures they could have easily repaired the movie figures and thrown them out there with little effort. Bonus points if they did the clone turtles too.

Opened my S7 van. Its definitely a S7 toy. Typical shit quality control, multiple scuffs to the yellow plastic on the exterior, scratched up windows, thin enough to see through plastic on the doors as the other anon noted. I don't hate it but this is in no way a $500 toy and if you didn't order one already you should wait for the inevitable price drop. After handling all three I can safely say the UA wins the van wars for me, hands down. I will maybe post some comparison shots between the three next thread.

i feel for ya, man. if there's two things that suck, it's A) having little money and taking a chance that a big purchase would make you happy that ends up disappointing, and 2) finally HAVING money after some long period of not having money, and JUST IN TIME for products to stop being worth what they cost.
It's enough to make you understand why some people are able to pull the mental gymnastics to justify theft.
