To be fair is that really counting actual Japanese retail stores or just the online ones most of us know about (AmiAmi, HLJ, Nin-Nin etc)? There are a number of online US sites that are just as easy to order from but like the other anon said stores like Target, Walmart and GameStop make every attempt to order online as hard as possible for international customers.

As a europoor I used to buy American store exclusives on ebay with no hassle, but that was about 10 years ago back when ebay wasn't completely fucked with excessive fees and regulations and sellers didn't mark up to oblivion even commonly found shit.

It was definitely a lot easier for a lot of us but unfortunately my country decided to be retarded and introduce an import tax on items bought overseas after decades of not having such. Really killed a lot of my purchasing since I've had to abandon places like AmiAmi and HobbySearch in favour of Nin-Nin since they haven't cucked themselves yet into feeling forced to implement it.

its either excluisve to them, or if theres even some random small shop that has them the prices are like excessively high compared to shippeing with high priority,etcand all the taxes.
usualy forgos the whole "its great for the price point" argument i ofthen see for american toys.
