It would cost more to do that since it requires more parts per figure. More tooling costs and more labor costs to assemble. These are $15 - $20 figures.

Good lord this thing is big. Got it day before yesterday along with my huge ass POL bix from bbts.

It's pretty awesome, if not a bit unruly due to the size. It helps to take a moment to understand what moves where, what pegs in to what. After that, no problems at all. Everything feels good, and it's got a significant amount of weight, doesn't just "roll off" by itself without a really good push.

I love that we got the Van in this line and that it came out so good. Makes for a nice centerpiece.

isn't it weird to think this is by far the smallest of the three vans
and it's STILL that big. Somehow, vehicles never seemed that big when we were kids.. but that's because if you look at the original party wagon, next to human characters, it's basically the size of a hatchback. And all of Barbie's cars were like, power wheels for adults. fuckin shriner-ass cars. The only toy franchise with scaled vehicles was GI Joe, and theirs were usually pretty silly.
This isn't me starting a fight or anything, but does anyone else think even if this is the toon van, it should still have clear red pieces for the .... signal lights? red floodlights? not sure what those are on the top. Since the turn-signals (?) above the headlights are clear red plastic.

Yeah, the Neca and Super7 vans were so large that I had to reorganize. The Super7 line is oddly shaped so I have them in my attic along with the Neca Mirage line because they’re not stack friendly, but this is mostly everything til I finish remodeling my basement/man cave. They’ll all be loose eventually but I know some anons like to see my collection progress from time to time. Not pictured are the Mondo turtles and the ThreeZero Out of the Shadows 1/6 scale B&R because they’re under the Neca toon and movie boxes.

They're already digging really deep for stuff to add so I don't think it's going to keep going much longer. I think they've already gotten just about everyone who was both on the show and also in the toyline so at this point it's either unique costumes for the turtles and B&R or one-shot characters most people don't even remember. I guess once they get desperate they'll start dipping into Red Sky but I don't think they'll go very far there.

The toon line drying out is also probably why Neca's expanded into Archie and doing more Mirage stuff.

I found the last two at Target and just cashed in my rewards because they fucking mark up their basic reissues $12 instead of $10. Just glad I finally got them.

I never owned the original so I can't compare, but I wish they painted the elbow, wrist, and knee guards better. Looks like they did a very thin layer of paint and called it a day. Also the packaging is the one they used for non-turtle characters where the turtles would have an image of the respective turtle's head. Sorta boot leg-y but that's playmates bein playmates I guess.

Still having one shell of a time.

My TMNT haul for the...week, I guess. Got the popcicle vinyls at Walmart. Splinter and Shredder are real easy to feel out, the turtles you can sort of pick out through a hole in the bottom of the bag. I didn't mean to get Raph though, but oh well.

Creature Leo is -amazing-. Beautiful sculpting and paint on this bastard. They're really having fun with the monster Turtles line.

I think it would have looked better without them, the bright pink on green is just aesthetically unpleasing. The Monster Squad gill-man is more coherent to me than the old Black Lagoon design.

The 2003 line's toys suck honestly. I don't know what Playmates was thinking with the articulation. The only thing the line has going for it is a nice breadth of characters.

2012 was really good though. At the start. The figures had decent enough articulation, the sculpts were good. Fun figures. Once again, a big breadth of character selection...but Playmates got lazy real fast and you started getting worse and worse figures as the line went on.

okay so... i like that the radar dish thing can bend upward for when you put the shield down, but the thing it's plugged into.. is supposed to be a cannon, isn't it? did I imagine that? in any case, this doesn't look removable. it's hinged in.

oh also I can see some transparency on the green roof panels. I really wish we could just do something bout the oil supply. I ordered the NECA Mirage 4-pack on the website in december. I got a mail a while ago saying they are sending those out first in JUNE of this year? Seems weird thaht it is taking so long for figures that are already produced.

The figures weren't already produced. The pre-orders are for a new batch of orders. It still takes time for the factory to make them and then ship them out via boat.

No reason it would. This is just like any other order they or any other company does. They've taken the orders, the factory has the work scheduled, they produce and assemble everything, then ship it back out.

My disguised 4 pack was a third production run because of a shipping oopsie, and I think out of all of the figures the only QC issue was a single elbow strap was turned a little too far, which took less than a second to correct. Reruns seem to be as good if not better than initial runs.

I hope there's no issues. It is like you guys are saying probably and it's not a re-release which I suppose would be another story. Is a "second printing" a thing with action figures like it is with books? Like they are worth less to people since it isn't the first run? I would assume not.

Not with action figures, no. There's generally no way to know when your figure was produced outside of these direct to order lines. Unless there's a run with some kind of notorious issue or running change the toy market doesn't really care.

I think the only time that's ever been a thing is with some vintage figures where stuff was made in all sorts of places. So you'd have stamps for made in Mexico, or Taiwan, or China, or whatever. That doesn't happen so much with modern figures, especially when they have dedicated factory spaces.

I find a lot of figures, especially super7s, have one pad or something turned wrong, or in general the thigh is rotated wrong and the rest of the leg is rotated to continue to face forward. it throws me off every time. but it is also very easily fixed

oddly enough, when super7 rereleased the 4 turtles, they changed the color of the weapons sprue slightly, so that the originals could still be 'first editions' for the fans who care about that stuff.
