Anyone here dealt with 3D printed toys?

I know how to make 3D models so I can make whatever I want but I don't know if it's worth the hassle trying to find someone online to print them for me if the tech isn't there yet

Google stuff and do some research first. Don't expect everyone else to do all the hard work for you. 'Toys' is such a wide and general word too. What specifically are you trying to make or replicate? Size? Material? Colors? Paint or just raw printed material? What kind of print quality/detail? Moving parts? Static figure? Budget? For yourself only or scaling to sell to others? Etc. Plenty of 3D printing services/sites out there right now in addition to niche users/owners of printers who print all kinds of things for customers.

if you want to print enssamblable toys with articulation buy a resin printer, the FMD printts are very weak in comparition of resistance.
FMD printers are usefull in case youj want to make furniture for toys.

This is not true. Resin is more fragile than FDM plastics (ABS or PLA) but capable of finer detail. This is why FDM prints can be used for engineering prototypes. For printing articulated figures though, your best bet will be resin printing if the figure will just be for display, or casting from resin printed parts

That's only really true for PLA. You can get better results for functional pieces using ABS or PETG, and especially Nylon. All of which would be printed with FDM.

For detail fine though, you'd wanna go for resin, or expect to do a lot of post-processing to get it looking smooth.

I was just wondering if there's any merit to them at all to warrant research and I wanted to know from a trusted source with no bullshit or potential shills, I was just thinking of small static figures with chibi proportions like pic related for myself, the materials colors etc I can probably figure out on my own with research and seeing how results turn out, though I'm open for recommendations for whatever's closest or superior to pic related. These are hollow and PVC soft vinyl but the ones I want to make obviously don't have to be.

Definitely resin. Wife got me a Creality Halot One for X-mas a few years ago and it was pretty easy to setup and mess around with. Like printing 1/64 stuff. $300-$400 iirc. Not bad for a starter.

Like others have said, go with resin prints. Details will be much crisper, and if its a high enough quality print/printer, you won't need to do any sanding or finishing the the surface before painting to have it look nearly identical to a factory produced figure.Check some of the many customizers/printers on Instagram specifically.

I make some of my own printable toys; resin is definitely the way to go as FDM is much lower detail. Also some resins are very tough, Elegoo ABS-likes for example. That said, you'll want to use premade plastic joints (Hobby Base for example) as even the toughest resins are too fragile to work for most joint types; I've had some luck with basic pinned hinges but overall I'd say keep the resin for the sculpt and assemble with available joints.

It is possible, theoretically; the issue is that 3D printed resin can inhibit casting silicone from curing, which makes mold-making difficult.

Most cast resins are unironically weaker than most UV resins. There are some that stronger but they're industrial grade resins that are a little more dangerous than your typical hobby grade resins and require casting under pressure and heat to meet the specifications listed on their data sheets. BJB sells some tough resins that are similar to actual ABS and nylon for example.

I need to try with the Resione stuff again. I got their anti-impact stuff and the "main" resin you mix it with (M37? The stuff coloured like burger cheese) but I had build plate adhesion problems; it seems to need a LOT of exposure on the burn-in layers.
Will definitely give it another shot though.
