So, I've been wondering about the future value of Hot Wheels Premium. I remember recently checking prices for early 10s hw cars with rubber tires and I was shocked by prices. They can cost upwards of 100 bucks a piece unless loose. Will this eventually happen to current Premiums too, or will they forever stay affordable? I'm not one of those niggerfaggot "alternative investors", I just want to know whether I should buy all the prems I like before they turn unobtanium.

I could be wrong, but it feels like back then Premium castings were scarcer than what we have today. But it also depends on the casting as some early 00's Premium castings have not all shot up as much. Even some current Premium sets like the Yellow FD RX-7 and BRZ from the same set a few years ago are quite a bit of money. Japan classics? Easy $200 set and it's from like 2017 when Car Culture was introduced.

I'm actually impressed they listened to the complaints. We are finally getting (Premium) Basics with metal bases. And as a set as well, not just the odd car here and there. Worth the $20 per set. Full tampos and even the new wheels look great.

I'd say some will eventually, but a lot of these super expensive cars sat around. This was right before I started seriously collecting so I don't personally remember, but apparently the Vintage Racing BRE 510 and the Boulevard 510 wagons and yellow 911s would sit because not many people wanted them. That was when a lot of hot wheels collectors preferred the american cars. Now that the culture is changing towards imports, that probably won't happen again.

Probably, but I would call unobtanium a reach. The only cars that will truly become high dollar are ones that they will never produce again for the foreseeable future like the Ferraris. Others that will definitely go more out of reach are the older American racing cars. Aside from the new leak that the Dan Gurney Cuda is coming back in a Team Transport (picrel), it has been very rare to see an American Circuit racer from the 60's-70's come to the premium line (with an exception of NASCAR of course). Stuff like the Shelby Daytona and the original Greenwood Corvette castings will only get higher in price. So if that's what you're looking for grab them while you still can.

I have bought Dollar Tree Turbo Wheels for Go Bot replacement wheels, but I didn't try to crush them with a hammer or fold them in half with my bare hands. Are they really that bad? I screencapped this COE because I've been buying those lately and I would have given him $1 US for this one, even if it was junk.

Hello lads. Been a while but I used to post my Gaslands conversions here. Got these from the car boot market the other day. Any ID on the black retro looking one at the front?

It's Hot Wheels but doesn't have a model name on the bottom like usual. Other two are a Knight Draggin' and a Monster Dairy Delivery

Back two are a Majorette industrial truck and an unnamed plastic Chinese military vehicle.

Just got my very first Pop Races models in. Really nice quality. Right up there with Mini GT, Tarmac, TLV, etc. Though for those who have bought them more than me, is there chases in the Pop Race releases? One of the cars I bought was an ?R34 Stagea Pennzoil livery, but the paint is gold chrome finish vs the standard color on it's box. Is this a chase or is it just the artwork is off?

Hot Wheels separated itself this round, keeping well over half its cars while Matchbox and Tomica lost more than that. Lionel and Majorette lose 1 each- I'm thinking they won't last much longer.

Down to 64. The Lionel Keselowski taking out a Hot Wheels Continental GT3 is a shock. And the Tomica Countach and Mooncraft (the peach colored #9 car) are performing surprisingly well, but they have not faced a major challenge yet. And the Hot Wheels McLaren F1s being out already is a surprise but they faced some fast cars.

I could be wrong, but I think the remaining Continental GT3s will do well. The Hot Wheels RS2 is another one to watch.

...because now the top 32 from the last time I did this at the end of 2020 join the tournament! The blue Jaguar XJ220 won last time with the white Lotus Espirit, Ford GT90, and green Chevrolet stepside truck rounding out the top 4.

The old cars have been seeded in based on the round they went out in to make it a little more like a real tournament.

Yeah, you just had to pick the one that took out my Bugatti T50.
Found my copy of that car, but it lost its plastic headlights decades ago. I was thinking of making replacements with the superglue & baking soda trick...unless somebody has experience or a better idea.

I'm a little surprised that the Sol-Aires do so well. They're heavy, with a metal base but have a hinged rear engine cover that I thought would cause momentum loss as it shook down the track.

Just one GT3- it was the only one out at the time. Here's the top 32 from last time, with a couple that I have sold or traded since then replaced by the cars they beat in the previous round.

And the engine covers on the Sol-Aires don't really rattle around, it takes some effort to move them.

Mostly memeshit as this is for Gaslands conversions, bought the Punk Rod and Dimachinni Veloce in green because they looked cool though.

Found the '69 Dodge Charger 500 on the floor lmao, and the tiny purple car next to it is from some track set and just says "Hot Wheels Powered by Gravity" on a tiny decal. No idea if it has a model name on the wiki.

Last update for the weekend. Tomica survives, one of the previous final 4 is knocked out, and the new cars fare much better than the old. The Majorette limo and Hot Wheels Civic took probably a dozen races for a victor to emerge. That was the closest race so far.

I went with the Solaire as while it's got an opening part, it's super weighted and while the few I got are different from yours, they all seemed to roll better and smoother than any other HW Mattel made at the time, and to this day if you think about it.

I don't have much for current trucks besides the Team Transport trucks. The Zee Toy trucks are pretty small. I do have the Shell Ford C900 Matchbox tractor and the Zee Toy tractor is about as big as that.

Down to the sweet 16. It's all Hot Wheels from here with the new cars kicking the other brands out. The Charger gave the yellow Sol-Aire a run for its money but that's the closest thing there was to an upset. The FTE cars both won relatively easily and it looks likely that one will make it to the final four.

One major upset in the final 16 plus a couple of smaller surprises. The XJ220 is gone! It was a close race, but the other blue car shod with Ultra Hots takes it out. One Sol-Aire is taken out along with the Evolution X. Only 2 cars from the original 32 remain, both having made it to the semifinals previously.

Down to the finals and I have to say I am surprised! The races are neck and neck at this point but I did not expect the Honda to get here. The FTE cars were always a wild card and it's good to see both that the marketing holds up and that the axles last for decades.

No, it was issued like that. At one point I did try to see if Sol-Aire was a match for any Group C cars but I could find none. It's close to many but all of those cars look relatively similar. I have no idea how or why a Chevrolet logo ended up on it.

Does anyone make his own waterslide decals?
Always wanted to make them myself to add small details like badges, oem decals and lights, wipers. But i don't know where to start and have none of required equipments
