At best you'll have a human character say like "He truly is....the king now" or something like that. You will never heard the words King Kong uttered in these movies or as titles because these studios are too cheap to pay the license and can just exploit the loophole to keep using him under just Kong

This guy was real rough getting the outer parts to snap back into place. Plastic is very hard and not forgiving, but wants you to pressure press it in at a certain angle. I took about 30 minutes snapping the one arm and one leg plus chest piece on to the figure. But once I figured out the angle and pressure to each one, it got easier. Still, it takes me about a minute or two to get the pieces back on just right. They come off fairly easily. Also, the tail is supposed to snap in to place, but mine the pegs don't push in all the way and there is just the smallest gap. It's hardly noticeable though abd the tail still stays in place without it fully pegging, but would come loose if you shook him about

I got mine on sale for $98 with free shipping on Entertainment Earth. Yeah, the paint applications are... not very good. Definitely an improvement from their previous figures though that's because they actually bothered painting them at all. Still, You're mostly paying for the size, of the figure.

The previous Super7 figures are dogshit, but Destroyah is a significant improvement on them. The teeth suck ass, and the horn should have been translucent plastic, but the paint apps on the rest of the body are good, and the articulation is decent. I think 1200C is also a good figure. Sculpt looks good, The translucent plastic lights well for a really cool shelf presence and I don't think there's been another "meltdown" Godzilla that's ever been this affordable. Only negative is that tail gap but I don't put my Gojis ass forward on the shelf. I was kind of surprised that both of the wave 3 figs didn't sell out faster but I guess the first couple of waves put some people off. I expect both of the wave 3 figs to sell out now that some reviews are out.

The black paint apps on the orang plastic look kind of iffy to me so I'm a bit on the fence with it. I was gonna wait for it to go on sale like the other Super7 figures, but I might end up getting it since it actually seems to be selling out in most places.

They announced recently that they’re going to show up at Amazon and Target too. The embargo was lifted on January 1st but it should be a bit before they start showing up in more stores.

Probably best to keep an eye on auctions to see the states they’re popping up (it’s mostly been places like California and Nevada but they’re starting to show up in Louisiana, New York, and Georgia).

This has been how it's done for years. It was a March film originally and then got delayed to April. 2 Months lead up is reasonable- especially considering. alot of Toy Stores will just order toys in January then nothing at all for the next 2-3 months. This is the time of year toys barely sell so sneaking into the January refreshes is the best bet to get decent distribution.

I have most of the individual monsters, but I didn't collect every single Godzilla varient. I do have a few Godzilla varients that I got on Christmas though. I would say out of all of them, Megalon or Hedorah are the most impressive because of paint. Hedorah is also super solid and just feels good in hand. I appreciate the smaller size and letting me fit tins of Monsters in a smaller space

The figures are fun. I would say overpriced by like 5 bucks, but everything feels too expensive these days. I love each one and have no complaints except I had to return Rodan twice because his first copy wings were broken second copy super loose and I settled with my third copy that has loose wings. I kind of hate I can't mess with his wings and have them stay in place. They flop. Ghidorah has the same type of wing attachment as Rodan and his work perfect. So confused what's up

Destroyah doesn't really scale with the SHMA based on official Toho stats which have Destroyah as standing 120 meters to Godzilla's 100. Of course what Toho says his height is and what it actually looks like his height is in the movie varies considerably. I personally prefer Destroyah to absolutely tower over Goji like he does in "Godzilla: Cataclysm" so the scale inaccuracy isn't a problem for me

Not to mention, releasing the toys in advance of the movie allows them to bank off the marketing for the movie. The 1998 movie infamously had the merch be held back until the release of the movie, causing the merch to shelfwarm after the movie came out and got bad word of mouth.

It’s probably better to get some sales banking off the hype over trying to preserve any mystery.

I kind of disagree because having fewer higher quality pieces displayed for better aesthetic impact seems more adult than having a visual diarrhea display of a ton of cheap crap. Now I'm the guy who prefers to have a very clean space with a few pieces displayed well to create an aesthetic environment that's more calm than clutter. See I don't even care if I would end up selling it later. Since I only display a limited number of pieces and only have so much storage space my shit is on rotation to a certain extent and I might decide something is probably not going back out on display or I need to clear some things out to make room for new stuff. I will sell things and any loss I might incur is what I paid to "rent" it for a while. No big deal. I have found over time I have gotten pretty good at discerning between something that seriously speaks to me and something that I just want for some lesser reason. The hardest thing I struggle with is some lesser piece that I sorta kinda want but not too much but it's on sale for cheap. I have to force myself to walk away lol.

I fucking hate the look of the "evolved" Godzilla so much its unreal. His 2014 and KOTM design was absolutely perfect. the pink spine or the ellbows arent even the biggest problem for me, the worst thing is his goddamn chest/torso. Looks like shit.

I generally dislike that the monsterverse started so serious with 2014 and is now becoming Michael Bay-Tier shit.

I'll tell you this, these hands are impossible to move because the plastic they use for the peg hinge here is much softer plastic than the rest of the figure so you just end up popping it out of the wrist instead of articulating the hand.

Just got mine today. Looks pretty cool but there's almost no poseablitly. The tail doesn't even plug into the ass all the way. You can't swing it to the side, only straight back. It's left shoulder is seized from paint. The half melted face doesn't have an articulated jaw and the skull head just stands out too much to use that instead.

Looks neat sitting on the top of my computer though.

If you want more, the newer MMS stuff is a cheaper to find than a lot of the older Bandai stuff. Bandai America is starting to carry them on Amazon (and may add more in the future). The older stuff is really cool though (like Grand King Ghidorah but that’s not a good starter figure).

Some of the old Bandai America figures can be found cheap and they’re pretty decent too (however, stuff like the Fusion Series and some of the mini figure playsets are dumb pricey).

Skull Island was the only good Monsterverse movie. It is a real shame that they never produced those figures since I think that they actually look pretty damn good for being Playmates. Don't get me wrong, I love the old school Playmates stuff but the new has been lacking with some exceptions. These Playmates Mirage Turtles have some great sculpts, and proportions and the heads look especially good. You can tell that they are lacking in some departments but overall I really like what I am seeing.

The Hedorah set is also really solid. The Mezco Hedorah looks great even when she's put next to the Monsterarts. I wish the the Godzilla could actually hold the two orbs that it comes with, but unfortunately, Mezoc decided to skimp out on an extra pair of arms for Goji, though I guess the little buildings the set comes with make up for that.

I'm sure they will but I don't care until they get more MMS figures of it on the shelf. That shit sold out so fast it was nuts. However many Amazon was allocated pre-orders sold out in half a day. Both HLJ and Amazon's pages seem to indicate there will be a restock so we'll see.

I feel Bandai either intentionally did another case of artificial scarcity, or they didn't think Godzilla Minus One wouldn't do as well as Shin Godzilla did due to the fact Hedeki Anno is a big name in terms of director and merchandise thanks to Evangelion, but also 2023 being a horrible year for Japan in terms of Yen value. Soaked the fat end of the tail in hot water for a couple mins and put some dawn dish soap on the ball joint on the body and it went right on no huge gap. Also had to soak and lube the arm joints to break them loose. It's got great shelf presence for sure. Is there another piece that tries to represent the moment he melts down? I don't know a lot about super high end pieces but I can't think of anything like this piece. When I saw the pre-orders sold out last year I figured I wouldn't get one and then they fucked up waves 1 and 2 and a bunch of people noped out of pre-orders. Then it turns out wave 3 is fucking noice AND there's plenty available. I was pretty cheesed to get it. I wouldn't sleep on this one as I suspect wave 3 might just be the first wave from this line to actually sell out without being put on sale.

For real, also the 10” Trendmasters figures are some of that company’s coolest figures. I really like the Rodan and the Mechagodzilla that can combine with the Garuda (Spacegodzilla’s really nifty too but he takes up a bunch of space).

The fact that the other character is called Macrosaurus is just bonkers. Even people who didn’t know who these characters were knew something was wrong (even with the Matt Frank redesigns).

I wish the forums for that game were still up, there were a lot of funny people on there (like this muscle fetishist with a Mary Sue oc that was the “God of Monsters” and could whoop Godzilla and Gamera’s asses five times over).

It's the Coin Parking Delivery Godzilla 1991 from the Godzilla The Art Expo in Tokyo. Sellers are selling it right now in the aftermarket for roughly 80-120 dollars USD along with the previous Marquette Godzilla 1954 which at one point was 200 plus dollars, but now is along those price lines (for now).

I'm really loving my MechaG I got for my birthday. I keep going back and forth between leaving all his outer armor on, taking it all off, or half and half. As of right now, I have him with his left arm and leg armor removed and I took his chest piece off. The details on this guy really pop. It might be my favorite piece in my collection now.

Yeah I think I got confused because people were talking about this VHS version as a grail type shit so I thought it was an alternate version or something. Now it seems it's just really that rare to have a copy of the Raymond Burr version even digitally?
