no, I get tempted but it's the kind of thing you need to be into from the beginning or be content that you'll only have what's current, because just say you get some return of the jedi sets and you want jabba's barge, but you'll never get that for a good price unless it's a rerelease

I doubt any of that is worth more than a few pennies outside of the figs themselves and maybe the chrome hilts. just part it out on bricklink and depending on the price of the figs just buy the modern ones and replace the arms/heads with generic yellows

Why not just buy the parts in a few bricklink orders? Aside from the minifigures you'd get the rest of the pieces for dirt, and can also buy other parts you need/want while you're at it. I can't lie that opening an old set out of the box after buying it new isn't a great nostalgia trip, but if that's what you're after, then go for an old Town or Adventurers set or something. Don't waste the money on these.

I have final duel II, it isn't super exciting.

Then again, I used those railings in pretty much every build I made in some way or another. idk why I just really liked them. I could never get the doorway to work in any building or ship though. Its clunky.

And its good to grow up, distance myself from timewasting money wasting comfort spirals and backwards thinking and obsessions. But I HATE MODENITY I HATE IT ALL I can only take so much of this cursed modern world. Its like God left us at some point recently and took all the SOUL with him

Yeah I got it too. Kind of regretted not having Final Duel I for that semi-rare yellow Emperor, but honestly having an officer, stormtrooper, and Jedi Luke was the better choice.
That said, there's a big difference between getting it back then and paying a ridiculously inflated price for it now.
