Is there a Japanese version of Kinder Surprise?
Or does Japan have any standard of miniature toys the size of quarter or penny? I want to collect toys, but I don't have a lot of space and I'd love to collect high quality miniature figurines.

Also any good sites on where to buy kinder surpise or gatchapon toys?

That makes no sense. They named it after the product, instead of the mascot, but then the design aspects dont imply the bird being chocolate nor a ball. At least for characters like Imp, Cactuar and Behemoth, they are what their names are

I mean, sense or no, you can Google it. 'Chocobo' comes from the Choco Ball and the company's later product, the Choco Egg. Kyoro-chan, the mascot, is even a flightless bird (though looks nothing like a Chocobo, which is probably the only reason Squaresoft managed to avoid a lawsuit back in the day).

It's possible they might carry them in some asian supermarkets or japantowns, but i've never seen them where i am. I always have to import them from hlj, amiami, hobby search, or play-asia. Note that if you do order any from hlj, they usually have a warning saying they aren't allowed in the USA, but they don't actually care and will ship them anyways.
