>>10839413I feel like I've seen more stock in the last year or so, than I have in years before that. I think one of the biggest issues is distribution, but its true that Didney/Marvel tend to go all-in on shit that's guaranteed to flop like Eternals, Shang-Chi, and some of the stuff like that.
Then again, you have to take things with a grain of salt anyway, because armchair financial "experts" are so absolutely sure certain things are going to tank soon™. Like, people have been predicting Marvel and DC are going under "next year" since about 2018, and when the next year rolls around and nothing changes, that it is DEFINITELY next year, trust me this time.
If anything, toys may just go back to DTC, like Hasbro did for years, and half the time, you see shit like that anyway with things like Premium Bandai, Hasbro, Pulse, etc. We're already halfway there, I guess. You do somewhat see cheaper shit with reduced quality, accessories, and articulation. Ironically, a lot of these companies could probably scale shit back and cut the fat instead of having like 10 different lines all running together with their own products competing with each other, never mind with other company's products.
