Provided you're good at it and open about it being a custom or restoration, it's possible. There are 878 sold listings on ebay for "hot wheels redline restored" and some are very good money but they're done very well.

Probably yes, but not much above the average diecast car price. I would consider average price + 25%.

No. You invest more in car and restoring than it is worth and usually most of diecast are worth more in original condition anyway. Restoration looks nice but drops actual value.
You would get more for original Sweet 16 HW car in mediocre or poor condition than for a restored one.

Those guys will pay for a price for an exact copy of their IRL car, or the one they wanted but never got. Their wives won't bitch about it because a $20 custom toy car is a lot cheaper than most of the shit they spend money on.

You'd have to take orders and mail the dudes their cars when finished.
Can you make money at it? Probably not much. This is something you'd have to do for fun and just hope to break even.
