many times with varying experiences. Some were painful, others were simple. depends on the range of the fault. I tend to dislike ones where I need to restuff an understuffed plush even if it feels better by the end

The quality is more important to me, but I technically have more fantasy.
Most of them are the Saiko Soda pokemon plush. Oddish is my favorite.

In the 00’s and early 10’s Walmart’s house brand toilet paper had this bear/bunny hybrid on the packaging that I’ve been looking for since I first laid eyes on it. I know it had to be custom made, but surely a nice approximation of it exists somewhere.

I'm a different person but I don't like them because they absolutely shat on some of the best western company human plushies by making shit tier Disney princess plushies. This picture shows the comparison between the Disney store ones and the squishmallows. The Disney store one has nice unique wavy hair but the squishmallow one is literally just flat garbage. I don't see squishmallows as genuine plushies, I see them as a machine that ideas are squeezed into and they come out as formulaic slop. The worst part is that their formula is spreading as seen here >>10883784
And it's a shame because I do generally like their fabric but they just piss me off

The interest in Squishmallows have really started to fall off. I've seen lots of people selling off their entire collection to other collectors.

A few days ago I found this giant Poplina in a clearance bin at Walmart for 15$. If the bottom hasn’t already fallen out of the Squishmallow market it’s going to in the next few weeks. Highly recommend giant Poplina as a pillow or cuddle buddy if you can find one.

You'd be surprised how many people only collected one animal but in different sizes. And they did release a whole blacklight squad and other glow in the dark plushies.
Though I do still agree with you that they could stand to be a bit more creative. They had a few animals that had a corduroy-like texture on their bellies that I wish they would have used more.

I suspect though that these people are 'whales' and are boosted with the algorithm but are not actually the large bulk of the buyers. The distribution has been lackluster, the price has been intense as well, (ex: $36 for a plush at Walmart) when the quality of materials has gone down.
In the same stuff they released previously. Also, when people want a specific one, like a pink frog, they sell out fast. Older styles shelfwarm, 3 releases of a less popular turtle makes Walgreens less likely to buy more. They are not good at determining trends of what does and doesn't sell.
A lot of people wanted the gray plushies that were the SDCC exclusives for example, the plushies never followed color trends, millennial beige is still in, they haven't capitalized on it.
My argument is that the trend is dying out due to lackluster offerings. Nothing is replacing them in the market at the moment.
I'd love completely corduroy ones. Never seen em.
