Expect them to be badly chipped out of the box

They are also the "best" well get as Bandai owns the original molds so they can't make direct copies of them. I'm surprised Haslazy even bothered with as many new parts as they did, Ransack only got a head.

I have a question.

Energon Inferno is the only Energon figure I've ever owned, bought him from a Rite Aid when I was a kid out of boredom because I wasn't actively collecting at the time. I've never experienced the whole two-bot powerlinx-ing before.

Can Inferno powerlinx with another Inferno? Can't find any photos of that online so I'm inclined to believe no.

Actually, this might be a better example. Here is Inferno combined with Roadblock who is a retool of him (essentially the same toy, pieces are swapped out for functionally identical ones in terms of transformation)

I'm curious to see which mould they use for the TMNT collaborative. There are a few vans to pick from, but the party wagon is more broad and squat than Ironhide or the stranger things collaborative. The closest mould I can think of in terms of shape would be Bulkhead.

I'm guessing they wanted the first to rotate and second is probably removing mechanisms to a simpler form. I like Starscream so I'll probably buy him regardless of the better view. He definitely pulls from the show version in terms of colors, but seems to have some of the color details missing.

This Galaxy Force was one of the few Japanese figures I was able to get as a kid (I think the only others were BW Neo Longrack and Robot Masters Primal).

I think this new one looks quite good, but I hardly buy mainline anymore so I’ll probably pass (as opposed to BW Silverbolt, which I can’t say no to.

Honestly you're right about the commander thing because they barely gave TW articulation for a size that big. Even Legacy Metroplex makes Tidal Wave look like a bad deal.

They honestly could and should have given Megatron shoulder joints because the ones I 3D printed are tighter and better looking than the ones they gave us and it cost me like 10 cents to make them and it took the figure from a 6/10 to 10/10 for me easily.

Face looks weird in the render, but irl looks nice. Shame the chest turrets aren't adjustable, but at least they're facing forward in jet mode. All those mushroom-pins are a pain, but at least there's [some] screws there.

Hhhuh... Well, I'm not complaining! Sad that it's not painted though, but at least the details are all molded there. Wonder how it'll look next to the classic cyber keys, like if it's gonna be the same size, or a slightly different shape, etc? Also hope this means Vector Prime comes with his!

Overall looks like a great figure. Can't wait to see more bout how those swords work.

He's pretty timeless, but there are definitely some others I'd say are worthy of the title. Wheeljack, the Datsuns, and the Honda City mold are all pretty fantastic. The Lambo mold is dated in terms of articulation but still looks amazing, overall. The only thing keeping the Mistubishi Fuso mold from being literally flawless is the lack of some sculpted detail, but the Artfire deco does a pretty great job of salvaging it from complete sunbow retardation.

Personally, my favorite thing about the MP-10 mold was how it had--and still has--it's own undeniable vibe. Arguably a result of the mission statement of the MP line at the time, where it was about creating a sort of amalgamated Prime and not just a slavishly accurate toy/cartoon/comic/whatever version. I'm just sad that, for the endless amount of repaints it got, we never saw a blue Diaclone one. The fact that this isn't always a standard repaint for every Prime mold is a tragedy.

I don't even hate the mold but it kills me that the original Skids toy was one of the only carbots who DIDN'T have a little cutout hood-flap behind his head, but the Legacy mold somehow decided to do a worse version of that and not only have a flap but to have it permanently fused to his skull. And none of the other versions of the mold since have bothered to fix it.

Botcon/FunPub often got way too hung up on little details they came up with. In the case of SG Blurr, the detail was, "SG is missing an eye, so the toy's head sculpt must be missing an eye too!" But the only reason he was missing an eye in the first place was 'cause they decided he was! It was a limitation they imposed on themselves! If they had just let it go and used the Cyberton toy's headsculpt, no one would have ever even known! This is not a comment on whether the lack of an eye looks better or worse than the previous sculpt. It's just meant to show that they sometimes acted like, "Well, we HAD to do it this way," when really, no, they didn't.

With the UT, I'm selective with which names I use, what with them being designed and conceptualized by Hasbro but written by Takara, etc.
As far as names go I prefer the Japanese titles for the shows and generally default to subs. But for ML I mostly use the US character names for the bots since they seem more fitting (humans and things/places like 'microns' I still use the JP names), and for SL I wholly use the JP names (unless they're just the JP name for a G1 character, for example MegaZarak->Scorponok and Sprung->Springer).
But for GF it gets muddy, so I just use a mix of both? I mainly use the US names save for a select few, like Sideways being Noisemaze since he's distinctly a different guy from the ML dude, or calling the planet leaders by their JP Convoy/"Prime" names. Then again, I'm I barely follow that rule consistently; I always call Nitro Convoy/Prime that, but almost always refer to Megalo Convoy as Metroplex just out of habit, lol.

If I was in charge of modernizing Shattered Glass I would redesign like 90% of the cast. I despise the stuff where they use stuff like Delta Magnus's color schemes as SG- I prefer it when they're either color schemes from a "rival," like SG Grimlock in Trypticon's colors, or totally new color schemes. And I don't like when they mix and match continuity altmodes either. SG Megatron being a UT mold is dumb; he should be either the regular G1 mold, or if you want to mix it up something like Blitzwing. And it makes no sense for SG Galvatron to be an Earth helicopter when Megatron is a sci-fi jet based on G1 Galvatron.

It's not that good for the proportions but it's good for the character. You can switch limbs with Junkions/Rocklords/Fossilizers/Weaponizers to pretend it stole those parts or something.

Personally, having the repaints be from mixed-and-matched continuities was part of what made FunPub SG more fun. G1 and UT already have similar blocky aesthetics, one's just more exaggerated, so it works aesthetically; but the main thing is because it made the SG world it's own thing as opposed to just "G1 but flipped" - the SG universe flipped and parodied several stories from across TF, with G1 just being the primary one.

I keep telling people, the increased budget has lead to better engineering but the actual design work has gotten way worse. Look at core class, the price point who's size and parts count has remained the most consistent since their modern iteration started in T30. There is absolutely no leeway in a legends/core budget and there you can see that they have gotten obviously worse than they were during T30 through PotP.

I'm torn over these Star Seekers. So far, Cannonball is the only one I might get, so my wallet is happy to get a break, but I'm also dreading these figures shelf-warming at my local Walmart so badly that there isn't enough room for them to bother to keep stocking new Legacy deluxes and voyagers, kinda like what happened with Velocitron and (to a lesser extent) Toxitron.

Transformers as a brand has a proud tradition of giving a character a new head and a coat of paint, and calling it someone else. The vehicle mode matches well and the robot gets his claw. It's a lot more accurate than Ferak to his comic look. I suspect it'll look a bit nicer once we see some other shots of him. That said it's an ugly toy and I probably won't buy it.

If looking great in both modes and having a imposing shelf presence were everything then yes he is perfect. The problem with him he is zero fun to play with. Floppy arm joints, wonky legs, cant hold anything, and no waist joint. Crazy how he was such an over produced shelf warmer he ended up at Marshalls and TJ Maxx for 4.99 and still managed to become worth $100.
