iirc, the Tree Frog was one of the first ones to deviate from the normal webkinz fuzzy style. Maybe that made people wanna by it?

I remember a lot of the early ones using that material. They used it on almost everything, even stuff you wouldn't expect like the original frog, rhino and seel.

okay, sure, at the time, but well after that point they stopped using that material. i know because i own a shit load of them and i could probably count on one hand the amount that actually had that material.
hence it's very difficult to call it a 'normal' material considering what set the precedent for the majority of them
