It's a tall order(literally) to devote space and money to a 12'' tall C-lister from Transformers when a main mecha from a mecha series may have a 9'' figure, tops. There's a reason why a lot of the surplus mecha designs in JP series are done with cheaper, smaller lines.

3Ps attempting MP combiners will be taken as the highpoint of decadence in a few years. The fact that we got to a point where we could get people dedicating so much space to B-listers to make a giant, barely poseable robot -8 times over. We were in one hell of an era.
You can tell FT/XTB were planning all these combiners when they could sell each limb for around $100.

Got my FH Double Evil in yesterday, and am still just absolutely floored by how big he is (G1 Prime for scale).

Very fun figure as well, I like how much there is to do between both sections, as opposed to MMC's figure where the tank/leg parts do so little when compared to the torso/jet

A bit of a late response, but that's one of the NewAge Magnus inner robots, the one from Delta Magnus.
I've got the Yellow inner robot from Shining Magnus and it's a solid Legends Scale Prime, although NA's actual Prime has slightly better articulation and design.

I honestly bought it exclusively for the Yellow Prime, just so I didn't have to custom paint one myself... given what yellow paint is like.
Was it stupid expensive and indulgent? Yes. But I enjoy it equally as a toy and as a piece in my collection, which is more than I can say for some of the things I've bought recently.
I hear you on the LeBronvoy though, NA Prime in those Atmos colourways would be amazing.

I've ordered from them before, but I don't think I'll do it again unless I can't get the figure elsewhere. I live in the states, and the shipping is very high.

I got my copy from BBTS, which I know several regulars in both tfg and 3pg seem to take issue with, but I've been a customer of theirs for over a decade and have never had an issue.

Yeah it fucking sucks. People were complaining about one specific part that holds the back on, but it's fine if you don't hamhand it. The transformation really does fucking suck though, enough of a chore that I got it back to robot mode after taking this and haven't transformed it since.

The whole thing. It's overengineered as fuck. Such a simple shellformer should transform like ten times faster. Just look at NewAge version when they'll do one, you'll realize how 90% of the transformation FT came up with is useless.

Complexity is more of a subjective thing, you either like it or you don't. Mind you, there are brainlets out there that NEED instructions or they just can't figure out a transformer. What I think is worse is when something is unintuitive.

A tf that explodes into spaghetti with confusing tabs and ports, unnecessary steps and/or extra parts that really don't need to exist, and terrible clearances will never be a fun one to play with

Transformations are what makes them... y'know, transformers. If you flub the transformation and the alt mode then that's a huge chunk of the toy immediately down the shitter, at which point you're better off just getting something from another line.

If you're curious, he's about 7 inches tall from head to toe. Not a small toy, but he does feel a little bit squat depending on what you have him next to.

I have them pointing forward simply because he was in storage in his original packaging (most of my TF are in crates right now) and that's how he's positioned when packaged.
It's why all of those four have boring, straight-armed stances.

That's still oversized for scaling to the normal transformers, even in MP sizes.

It might work for MP-01, but that's pushing it, most of the beast era characters should be the size of iron factory or Dr wu micro bots next to MP Autobots to be in scale.

The grey could serve to be a little blue tinted but it's still more accurate than cell, which seems to be deliberately copying the haslab colors

I think it'd feel most right to me with Pumpkin's greys and Cell's yellow tinge. It might not be 1:1 accurate but I think of Unicron more yellow-orange and grey. I guess the animation color version comes closest to what I see as right.

Jizai can't monetize Transformers designs freely since he's in Japan and the fandom would narc on him. He did turn some into garage kits for sale at wonfes a long time ago but not anymore after he started doing contract work for FPJ/Action Toys and whoever. I do wonder if he "shares" the designs precisely so the Chinese can copy them, that's what some accuse NA's Ironhide v1 mold to be.

Now that Superion is done who should they do next? Dreamstar's specialty is realistic jets so I don't think Computron would work. Liokaiser is most of the way there, Drillhorn could be changed to a something like a T-90 with an optional attachable drill.

I got the V3 from TFSafari
So like, I know it's a oversize so things pegging in during the engineering part of production would only be factored for the original smaller one, so I'm fine the back barely stays in place, I expected that. I saw reviews for the V1 where the arm broke off and I don't see how they could fix it without remolding it.
Arm seems fine on V3, but like, is there really no way to peg the torso into the pelvis? It's just gonna flop backwards forever if I move it back slightly huh. I guess on the original it was small enough that friction could hold it in place.
Oh well!

This has never been about G1 vs Movie. Toon Menasor is being used as an example that set precedent for combiners being simply colored. I bet if DST Superion was G1 colored he would get shit for looking even more visually busy. Silver looks good on the jets, and unifies all the combined parts.

Maybe if the new core's altmode was shorter but taller so it more evoked a truck cab instead of looking like a minivan towing an oversized camper... I'm assuming they attach to the filler core, then extend out of the trailer to "dock" with the cab. I wouldn't be surprised if its partsforming and not technically apart of the truck at all.

Here’s a proper size comparison with Haiku. Crazy that they were able to shrink such a complex mold down this much, it’s not much bigger than a Deluxe now.

Holly shit this looks good. BeetleBee has honestly gotten some of the most impressive 3P figures out of any character in history. UT’s MPM bots are black magic in their own right, but pulling this trick off at Legends scale seems to require another level of cleverness. Lucky Cat’s BB was already peak, and this one somehow surpasses that to a pretty large degree.

The final blow in the competition is that the vehicle mode is much cleaner than Lucky Cat’s, which is covered in protruding joints. At the time I was happy to excuse it because of how small/complex it is, but it’s hard to deny that Robot Toys has them beat hands down.

Has anyone else had any problems logging in to TFSafari lately? The capcha is fucked for me, no matter how many times i correctly solve it & get the green tick i get a 'this answer is not correct' message when i click submit. Haiku (the base mold) is a nice figure if you don’t mind limited hip articulation and a rather complex transformation. So if you like the look of the white/gold one, go for it.

actually, looking at it, it's absolutely partsforming. it's gotta be that "option frame" thing. looking closely at the altmode pic, those panels aren't attached to the trailer at all.
looks like you attach the new robot by taking out the screw that holds the original cab in place - there's a hinge there that the base figure can only use to get clearance for stuff in transformation, since once transformed the original cab is flush and tabs up into the biceps.

Oh the original the legs have a baked-in A stance, and you can't really get him to swing his legs directly forward. The articulation is fine otherwise though.

I bought it at full price in both G1 & G2 colours. I like MT's Seekers but you can tell they are degrading fast. You may end up with no troubles to quite a few qc issues. At that price its worth the gamble personally.

There's also the fact that no one is making seekers anymore, other than takara rereleasing the main three over and over. These will probably be the only versions of these characters we'll have for years to come. That makes it easier for me to take the $60 gamble.

Can't speak for the repaint, but I own the original Haiku and I think it's pretty solid if retardedly complex to transform. The Helicopter mode looks less dumb when you see what it's actually based on and realize it's actually accurate.

It skimps out on a lot of paint operations, most notably the lining on the skirt and shoulder pads. Also keep in mind the not KO Drift is going for 50$ as well so it seems more like a universal price cut in response to Cyber Era than a limited sale.
