Your challenge this month is to design a Microfighter for a vehicle that doesn't have one yet. It can be of any property, as long as it has 100 or less pieces, seats 1 minifig, and is cute and chibi. Get swooshing!

Wasn't mad about the leaks being fake, and was about to goof on reddit's "investigation" but then I checked CM4Sci's page on a hunch and I gotta to say I think he's N. When I first joined eurobricks he friended me first week, he's got 300+ yet he's not "friends" with just2good. And when I checked j2g's page his profile popped up as most recently viewing.

My guess is that this is The Man Upstairs' DC Comics/Gotham City setup, before Batman became a Master Builder, and he has real water in his Wayne Manor pool. It fits with the LEGO Movie lore, and it makes sense that Finn would characterize the Batman characters like we've seen.

For most play themes, they have stopped doing alt build suggestions (something about parents complaining to Lego that they never included instructions to those suggestions). However, the Creator line has remained strongly in the area of alternate builds. Each and every Creator set comes with instructions for three different builds out of the same pieces.

Several sets from The LEGO Movie also featured alternate builds; they were two-in-one sets where a regular build from a certain theme would be rebuilt into a ridiculous vehicle with which you fight the Micromanagers.

They had other stuff like the Friends hot air balloon and lighthouse for 50% off. Juniors house half-off, too. Scooby Doo lighthouse was $35. There was a shelf tag for the haunted mansion for like, 50% off or something. Naturally, there were none left.

Back when the Azari's Magic Fire polybag promo was active, I asked the bloke at the Lego store if if they ran out, because I didn't get one with my order. He said I had to buy Elves stuff to qualify.

So I got more stuff online and dat Gerudo was added to my basket. Now if I was gay I dunno if I'd be so intent on smashing that bloke's face in for denying me my lego dolly that day. I was seriously fucking livid.

Thanks for the tip, bros! :) I bought some today. The label says it's ok to use on plastic. I hope it doesn't eat eat away at the pieces. I'm using common colored bricks to test just in case. Here goes...

Anon from the last thread here: other people in the LegoGen have heard my tale, but I'll tell it again for you. Back in the '80s, little-kid me thought it would be a good idea to convert my Classic Space crater baseplates into "snow" by covering them in a thick layer of white spray paint. They stayed white for almost thirty years, but last year I finally got around to cleaning them up. I just kept them submerged in Simple Green (I got a spray bottle and a gallon jug and just kept spritzing them a few times each day to keep them damp). Daily rinsing and scrubbing with a fingernail brush and helped speed it along, but after I was done, there was only a fine ring of paint around the bases of the studs that's only visible in macro photography.

ABS plastic (the stuff Legos are made out of) is nonreactive, which means that Simple Green will eat away whatever's on the surface of the ABS, but won't hurt the ABS at all.

Yes and no. Grown men playing with toys in general is considered weird. But Lego is a toy like no other that has endless possibilities and requires a lot of creativity and complex thinking that continues well into adulthood. The set designers themselves are adult fans of Lego.

I rationalize it this way: not just with Friends, but Paradisa and other girly Lego themes: they have unique pieces not found in most other sets/themes, particularly domestic related (food, plates, cats/dogs/crabs, etc.). This was more the case in the 1990s-2000s. Less so now, as they included fish, wine bottles, crabs, etc. in the two most recent Pirates lines. Not only that, but if you can get past the pink/purple colors, alot of them are like most other Lego sets.

That is so awesome! :) I'm so glad those pieces aren't ruined forever and I don't have to replace them.

Pic related is the baseplate that has spray paint on it, from 6387 Coast Rescue Base (1989). It is also bent/warped from being at the bottom of the bin, but maybe I can correct it with a heavy book. A bunch of bricks and arches from 6086 Black Knight's Castle (1992) have spray paint on them as well.

I have a few test bricks soaking in a tiny container. So do I just let them soak for a week straight? I tried scrubbing with an old worn toothbrush, but nothing came off. I tried scratching with my fingernail and some came off, but it took alot of force. Will it soften up after a week?

Dammit! :( the good thing is the only other printed piece is the wall element in this pic from 6265 Sabre Island (1990). The rest are non printed bricks. I guess I'll have to sacrifice the printing or find another method to get the spray paint off.

I don't know how much you could really do with Pokemon in lego form. Not much to build. It would just be minifigures and animals. I don't think you can run an entire line of essentially just Ultimate Nexo style figure sets. Brick built ones wouldn't be very great because of scale. You couldn't make enough of pic-related sized animals, though that would be the best way to do it, to be profitable. Lots of new molds would be needed. I'd enjoy it if they could afford to do that, but I don't think it's going to happen. We'd only get a very basic assortment, so no matter what, people would be unhappy. There are people still feeling the pain of Avatar not being utilized and getting enough sets.

The format would most likely be like a game like the soccer sets or Speedor minigames. Gym leader sets where you get a gym leader and three Pokemon, and collect them that way.

Just going off of Gen 1 there's stuff like Pallet Town, Pokemon Tower, Mt. Moon, Rocket Hideout, Silph Co. HQ, Pokemon Centers/Stores/Gyms, etc. there's probably also a number of smaller things they could make into polybags and shit.

Yeah, I just snagged the figure second anons pants are on for $1.90. Not too bad. Also got the third cheapest version of a modified 1x1 brick with studs on 4 sides (like $2). I built that for my daughter. It is really cool. The carriage sides open up like starfighter wings when you pull a tab. It has some great pieces for other builds too.

Weight alone probably won't be enough. Try immersing it in very hot water (as hot as your tap can get) for several minutes. I've had good luck with baseplates reverting to their original shape with the hot water technique.

You'll need to let the Simple Green soak for at least a couple days before you notice any effect. Once the SG starts to break up the paint, daily scrubbings will help it along, but for the first couple days, just keep it soaking and make sure the paint stays wet.

I think most if not all customs are printed on original lego pieces, except when they use their own molds for helmets and that stuff. I don't own them but from what I've seen in very close pictures only pad printing truly looks like TLG's printing.

That's just what they've always been called, I guess. Bricklink calls all wheel-over-related-things mudguards and I think Lego themselves do as well.

I guess they skirted the issue of realism by never actually making vehicle mudguards back then and nowadays cars rarely if ever come with them anyway.

Not really. We've had much darker ages for that. You can still use Nexo stuff for castle stuff, especially monsters, and there's usually at least one good fig in each non-licensed collectable series.

Also just build your own castles.

Personally, I think they look horrible as fuck. I'm so torn on whether or not to get the Darth Maul robotic legs fig (pic related), because on one hand the legs are badass but on the other hand the face is literal cancer.

Nexo Lava monsters builds are full of usefull pieces for castle/monsters/landscapes
Elves are full of usefull fantasy pieces/bricks for landscapes/dragons

Incorporate it into Dimensions through an Ash+Pokeball level pack with a new portal livery resembling a gym, or something.

In-game Ash's moveset depends on the selected Pokemon: Thunder attacks with Pikachu out, fire with Charmander, etc.
Have the Pokeball act like the Ghostbusters trap, so in game you fight wild Pokemon to weaken them, then physically put the Pokeball model on the portal to try and catch them. The lights flash, and you find out if you caught it, which adds the Pokemon to your collection.

Tons of man hours to design, countless brand-protecting red tape to work around, and giving Ash access to just about every element would break the normal Dimension's gameplay, but include the original themetune and voice clips, incorporate Team Rocket+Meowth, 'Whos's That Pokemon!?' load screens, have some dumb team-up references like Mr T doing the Pokerap or Ash saying 'Scooby Doo! I choose you', and nostalgia alone would put it over.

The trick is using existing pieces where ever possible and where new pieces need to be made, make them in such a manor that they can be re-purposed for later use in non-Pokemon/licensed sets

Like for Rattata, use the kitten piece in purple and white. The skunk from the CMF15 Animal Catcher might be able to be reused as a Vulpix
Magnimite can be brick built. So can Onyx, Lapras and Gyarados.
Mewtwo can be made out of Black Panther's headgear/ears, CMF14 Cat Lady's tail, the Satyr legs and a regular head and torso.

Pokemon like Tauros, Magikarp and Horsea could all be new molds that can be later reused as a bull, carp and sea horse respectively. Growlithe could be a new piece that can be used later as a St. Bernard. And Arcanine only really needs a new head to go on the Warg body.

e.g. just have a big 40 dollar set that lets you build a pikachu and raichu like the Park Animals Creator set. Then in the same line, you can build Spear Pillar with Dialga and Palkia. Since some of the parts are going to go towards designing the Mystri Stage it obviously means Dialga and Palkia will be comparatively small

then if it sells, and it will you can do the trainers as CCBS models like with the super heroes and star wars lines

Ice Queen is the only one I think about skipping.

Arabian Warrior looks like he needs another acessory.
Penguin Boy is kind of unnecessary, like they don't know which costumes to make anymore but I can't skip costume figures now when I got all the other costumes.
Boxer should have had another color than red.
Ethan Hunt could have been better with black T-Shirt sleeves like the Dimension Fig has, likewise the Spooky Boy.

It's amazing. Even at this point, when you need all the money you can get, the stores just won't put Lego to discount. It happens too often even with normal discounts on other stores. There's always the small print, "not counting Lego"

I did see an empty box of S15 that were priced for 75 cents. Everything else was full price.

Well, Ausini is obviously a Kreo clone, based on the parts, but the Jeep had solid construction.

So expect Kreo-quality parts, lots of stickers, and a hopefully solid overall design. There's an old-west train station and loops of track for sale, too. I'd still like a saloon for my wild west, but the Lone Ranger bank is still cheap on BL, so my Wild West dreams still have legs.

My local stores started pulling that shit shortly after the movie came out and everyone was crazy about buying lego again.
Later on, we had a slight increase in prices due to currency exchange and they have a tendency to exclude lego from almost every toy promos ever since.
There's still the occasional clearance but you have to be fast and get what you want before the scalpers take everything.

My favourites in no particular order are Lickitung, Gitarooman and the tower man. Not so sure why i chose a complete set of klinkers though, i'm more of a cyberpunk guy. But I liked them better then the blue mixels they had and i think i can use the brown parts better for my flying ship. I can also use the exhaust things for some trucks and dark bley and towball joints are always cool for robutts and such too.

I'm also in the process of making summery pics of my minis and accesoiries, but computers can't detect new pictures on my phone anymore. I hope my memorycard doesn't blow before i come home.

I just bought the Elves Dragon Sanctuary set and I gotta say, I'm kinda disappointed. The sky dragon was the one I was the most interested in (besides the Queen), but it just lacks articulation. It's limbs/body are too bulky for much movement besides up and down.

Arms are removed, tape has been applied to all areas that are scheduled to remain.

I'm trying something different this time - I touched the tape a bunch to remove some of the stick, to see if it has any noticeable effect on the printing. However, without any control group and a sample size of 2, it's probably not the best test, considering that print quality varies wildly between CMF lines.

The nice thing about this torso is that the surface coating above the printing is fairly tough, so even though Brasso takes it off quickly, using a microfiber cloth to polish the de-printed area doesn't abrade the coating at all.

It definitely makes it more rough than the covered areas (that's what the microfiber polishing is for). I can't take a picture right now, but even after polishing you can still see a faint edge (and the de-printed surface is still not quite as shiny). Can you post a macro photo of one of your heresy'd torsos? I tried an eraser once but might try it again.

Its a fucking shame. That car would make an awesome lego hearse if it was in black, but theres no way in hell im spending any cash on it that could possibly go to Sony or those involved with that travesty. Saving grace is the movie bombed, so hopefully that means lego wont go beyond the few GB related sets they have made so far.
