I haven't touched lego in ages, but throwbots were my fucking jam when I was a kid. I had a custom that used parts from millennium, spark, and flare that I took everywhere.

So I found a few odds and ends of Lego clearance at Walmart today. Two Lego chima bird Chi sets, two ultimate Nexo knight sets, and a freak hero factor bag set. Was all deep clearance price so I bought it all as well that Lego Batman Joker bag set and this was the end result.

No I was talking stuff like his Pilgrim's Progress game and the other one - The Desolate Hope. Couldn't remember the names.

It's an artstyle based off of that kind of 90's vision of the future.

Someone should try to build the slizer faces with bricks or something. Or 3D sculpt some masks for shapeways to go on the robo rider heads.

Shiiiiiiiiit, wonder what happened to all of my old Throwbot containers. I see them now and again in my basement but never bother to move them. Still have a bag filled with half builts, might get around to rebuilding them.

Sometimes I feel more nostalgic for Throwbots/Slizers than Bionicle.

It depends. Usually it's the smallest thing, like I see a cowboy movie in the TV guide and think 'I need to build a guy with revolvers for legs'. However, with that MOC it was pretty heavily influenced by some pics in the Art of Bionicle that got released recently

These look nothing like Bionicles, BUT they look tribal and other concept art seemed to look in the same vein capturing the 01 vibe but yet they instead went with a minor rehash of G1 rather than an entirely new spin on Bionicle.

It's Friday night. Another night behind Cho Wan's American Chinese where this homeless toa must put on a show for somthing to fix his itch. His challenger for that hit tonight was a fellow homeless Lego. A Mixel, calling himself the trash man. He held a trash can lid and branch of wood as his weapons, calling out the toa and acting bigger than he was. Before being discontinued the toa would have wanted to talk this Mixel down and try to make peace.

It's the cheapest and easiest way to get parts. If you want to build say a dozen soldiers you won't get cheaper. If you just want to make a select few it's cheaper but overkill and you will just have a tub of unused parts.

So what powers did Makuta have prior to his transformation, besides his Mask and the stuff Ekimu has shown (mask making, some form of astral projection, telepathy, etc)? Apparently Ekimu had light powers, but did Makuta have anything else?
We don't even know if the two were just very powerful villagers or a separate race entirely. So many unexplained stuff.
Anyone have their own headcanon on this?

Mind you, I liked the more "fill in the void" approach of G2. G1 lost its magic because the legendary objects and beings were throughly explained, and so they fell from their pedestal and suddenly stood on the same level with the mundane.
When someone asked where the brothers' Legendary Masks came from they answered that "I can't reveal that, but you kind of get the feeling someone else made the Masks for them."
I found that fascinating and wanted to hear more stuff like that. Not full revelations like G1 did, just some subtle hints to tease the imagination.
I came up with my own headcanons on the Mask Makers and other things, so I wasn't complaining. I was more curious to hear if others did the same.

There is no "high tech fortress". They literally swapped the elements of these two. The entrances have to wrong colors, the enemies have the wrong colors, the Rahkshi boss attacks were clearly meant for the other level.

It doesnt effect gameplay at all though.

Well, Bionicle is in its own universe with the possibility of an alternate Earth. Also, Brutaka's mask and Takanuva's adventures prove the existence of many different alternate universes.
So it could be possible all those franchises are on different planets in the same universe, or it's on the same world with a Turn A Gundam-esque reset after each one.

I'll start by posting a small improvement I've made to the Bucket Wheel Excavator. Normally the cabin is too small to fit a minifig, but by making it just a bit taller with a few elbows It can fit a full minifig wearing a hard hat.

We don't need something groundbreakingly complex or amazing. Something simple and fresh to reboot interest in constraction, like Bionicle did in 2001 after Roboriders (which had a single wave + Boss, so I imagine they weren't a huge success).

Keep CCBS and Technic as the basis for the build so to not alienate constraction fans, but integrate the sets with minifig collection. A way would be making mechs piloted by minifigs, like HF Invasion from Below, but with classic minifigs kids can easily collect and customize. A CMF series for the minifigs could be integrated as well.

Story shouldn't be anything too complex, there's already Ninjago for that. Something like Nexo Knights would be ok, as long as the core concept is fresh and used well.
Or rather than something completely new, revive an old theme, like Lego likes doing. Exo-Force for example.

But I would personally prefer something entirely new. A hard reboot for constraction. And even though I said that it doesn't need to be groundbreaking, I personally would love to feel that same sense of wonder I felt back when I saw the Slizers/Throwbots for the first time.

The biggest issue I have with 90% of the CCBS sets is how they don't showcase the potential of the system.
You can build some crazy shit out of it but instead Lego only did humanoid builds over and over again.

My idea for it would be that they add a Bionicle level, and you could either play as a Bionicle character, or you go there as a minifig from some other theme, and gain a ccbs power up.
