I was expecting bigger since they're touted as 6.5, and the 6.5 inch Power Rangers are huge compared to the figuarts. This line could be a great figuarts companion, both giving us less popular characters, and cheaper alternatives to characters we don't care enough about to pay $40 for. Got any more pics anon?

You know what really bugs me?
Even after all this time, I still can't find a single Vegeta figure that I like. It's infuriating.
Either it's not got the right armor, the hair's got the wrong shape, the body has the wrong proportions, it's the wrong form, the articulation points make it look terrible, the face is painted wrong or the expression's off or the size is wrong.

I can't even tell you what my budget is because I've never seen one done in the right style that would me an indicator of what the price range would be.

There's the regular Gokuu using the very first mold with various color variants and there's the Kami to Kami mold, using the same engineering, that also comes with a black haired head (and only one face iirc).

These are pretty outdated, you're probably better off waiting for a v2 using the new body they're using for the upcoming SS3 version.

Man, the new Trunks was a huge disappointment to me. I expected the legs to be restricted but thought that there would be SOME range with them. Just wishful thinking, I guess. At least the sculpt is nice.

I have an SHF base form Goku and I want to get an Awakening Goku so I can get the maximum amount of variance in just two figures (SS vs base form, clean gi vs torn).

I know the base form Goku's head will fit on the Awakening Goku's neck, but is the opposite true? I don't want to buy it just to find out the SS head won't fit on my base form Goku's neck.

There's quite a few characters taller than Goku.

I recommend checking out the Super Exciting Guide part of character bios, which lists their heights as well as the animator reference sheets like pic related.

Fuck no.

GT suffered from the same terrible design choices that plagued a lot of 90's illustrated media.

If Rob Liefeld had been instructed to design characters for dragonball, GT would have been his baby.

Super has all the same failings that plagued classic dragonball, but in that same vein it also succeeds in being fun.

Funny you asked that, I just ate tortilla for dinner. I'm fine with it as long as the spanish omelettes don't change magically into a taco wrap.

If the agreement really was he's just revived for an hour or whatever then yes that's stupid because why would Frieza want to help save the universe just to have to go back to his hell. But if he were to stick around that'd be reason enough to help, for him anyways. I kind of like the idea of frieza being their only hope. I'm picturing Goku going to hell and having a staredown with frieza like he did with cell after leaving the time chamber, rather than a "hey frieza long time no see" sort of thing. They could have had frieza replace krillin, tenshinhan, or master roshi, but instead they decide to replace Buu, who is not only far more powerful, but has much cooler abilities, after he got fit as fuck from a single day of training. I was really looking forward to seeing how strong he could he could get if he actually applied himself, but no. We get to see fucking krillin.

It's way more than a "plot outline" but close enough. As you said, the mangaka and the anime studio are filling in DETAILS themselves. DETAILS. Not making their own stories. Toriyama writes for the anime, not for the manga, not for both, just for the anime. The story is written in episodes and takes into consideration the anime viewers only. The mangaka has to adapts that into manga form, not to write his own shit.

The only reason the story is bad in the manga is because the anime is just as bad in that regard. The real difference is that on top of having a terrible story, the anime is also technically awful.

Not that anon, but I agree. Berserk has a strong story, strong characters, amazing world and lore. The action is just the icing on the cake. The blood and gore never feel out of place or excessive, because the setting is dark and dangerous enough to allow it.

I'm not familiar with the super manga, but DB doesn't seem to be the kind of world where tons of blood and gore fits. Some blood, some explosions, but all very tame. I'm sure they could work it in if they wrote it well enough, but DB is more of a light hearted shonen series overall, and not a dark tragedy like Berserk, Gantz, or Attack on Titan.

Honestly, the sizing is near perfect unlike what some anons here will tell you. Compare him to Frieza, they are just about the same size. Buu could use to be a DROP smaller but again, near-perfect.

The shoulders themselves are more aesthetically pleasing than previous versions. The arm part appears to be slimmer so maybe the sleeve is attached on both sides so it may provide a more solid look. So yeah I'm defending them since they appear to be an improvement.

Blue is definitely a step up after God, even the original name (SSGSS) Toriyama had was an indication of that.

I'm glad they moved on from the original god form fairly quickly. The whole randomly getting the same ki as a god from 6 righteous monkey aliens holding hands was kinda lame.

he's literally only like two colors. the only thing I can see them doing for a PC to work is remove all shading from the white parts and fix the white shoulder joints so they don't stand out so bad

Yeah I could only imagine them making the PC more white and changing the purple.

I can't see them doing a 2.0 either as the only thing that is really wrong with the mold is the ugly shoulder joint.

Some art of his final form uses a blue shading around the musculature so I could see them doing that to make the figure more vibrant and pop better. They would just have to find the right balance, I could see it being overdone easily.

SHODO figures have this problem solved, this has been said countless times in these threads. Just mold the shoulder parts to be the sleeves of the gi. There's no reason not to do it that way, it wouldn't impede any articulation and wouldn't break the flow at all.

A lot of the candy toys have solved long-standing problems. Like Assault Kingdom RX-78 having excellent hip and ankle range because they made the skirts and ankle guards from soft PVC that flexes out of the way. Not saying this would necessarily work well at large scales, I just find it funny that these cheapo candy toy lines are doing shit better than the big expensive lines.

Actually, aside from maybe people complaining about the look or feel, I don't really see any problems with using the soft PVC shit at large scale. But then again, I'm more of an articulation than sculpt accuracy kinda guy.

Possible, especially with him getting SSJ Blue and him being a simple headswap on the new 2.0 Goku body. He shelfwarmed though, so that might hold them back from doing it. Same with Ultimate Gohan.

Anyone familiar with these little minifigs sitting on dragon balls?

Saw some at a local fleamarket but they were like $6.50 each and that seemed steep for their size, so I tried to look them up online and see if they're cheaper somewhere but have no idea how to find them.

Only got this picture searching for "dragon ball mini" on Google images but obviously that brings back lots of unrelated results on shopping sites.
