I finally pulled the trigger and got my first Nexo battle suit. It's funny. I really liked them when they first leaked but then I just kept ignoring them. I like it. Bit smaller than I anticipated but still neat. I also really like the combining gimmick as a concept. I just don't like it enough to cripple several bigger sets just so one mech suit can have oversized jetpack.

Will probably get the rest too.

Anyone know if the site Minifig-Madness is any good? Or if their stuff is printed on real Lego? The only custom figs I've bought from other places have not been printed on real Lego.

Also, I've watched most of Steven Universe and agree with most of what you said. The townie episodes are boring as fuck, so I skip those now. I only watch the episodes that have aliens, plot progression, or songs in them. Unfortunately, that's only about 50% of the show, and the rest if bullshit.

They are okay to me. Printing isn't really as flawless as LEGO's and you can spot some flaws, like fading areas and lines, which becomes more noticeable in black bricks/torsos. Nothing too alarming if you just ignore it and have fun with your figures.

Better than most chinese bootlegs, I'd say.

It's a space bathroom and the characters are all cool and exotic in their own way but still.

Well, I didn't have to use "Toggle Physics Test" option, or get the "brick was not placed correctly" warning upon importing or re-opening it, so it might be doable.

Also tried my hand at a Sibling of Conflict. This had a couple of clipping errors, though they're probably easy to fix (or non-problems) IRL.

Anon just means that if you sort by type instead of color, you'll have an easier time quickly finding the piece you want in the color you want.

It's easier to find a red 1x2 jumper plate in the "jumper plates" bin than to find it in "the red pieces bin".

It all depends how you build.
I am castle builder.
I keep all Brown pieces besides hinges and 2x2 barrels in one long box. And it works.
Same with greys (but bigger pieces are in separate boxes)

I just started with what I had the most of, and into vaguer categories. For example I started out with all my slopes in one box but I have since separated them into 1x, 2x, inverted, curved etc. as I got more of those parts. I did it so incrementally is was never much of a pain in the ass.

I just bought some more technic to finish a stand for a laptop screen I converted to a standalone screen.

Here's pics of my tablet stand, I may have over engineered it. Vertical and horzontal mode, built in contact charger, handle, ledges for portable speaker and bluetooth keyboard, Rubber feet.

I didn't worry about the weapons either. Although I'm thinking about making a little minigun or something for him.
Also modded it to have an inclosed cockpit, with the helmet sitting on top, kinda like Iron Mongers... but I lost the helmet.

Huh. Learn something new erry day. Does it require any sort of soldering or anything? Don't bother if the screen is so old you can only get VGA versions, I've done it with one like that and the picture was moving off the side of the screen.

I think Jackie Chan/Wu is a strong contender at the moment. Cole is also nice. Zane is super happy and that makes me happy. Also Zane's hair printing wraps like all the way around the head and makes it looks like real hair. Way more than a robot boy should have real hair. Oh and the angler fish girl is kinda cute.

I was literally saying that in>>6423614, I just was disappointed with absence of joint parts themselves in the set, because even if the set ends up in parts bin aftter a while, or will be modified, it just bugs me sometimes, that if I buy it and build it as, it's not just unfinished (a lot of things could be considered unfinished), but lacks essential parts. It's like if Lego produced a building with no windows, just white or blue colored bricks in their places, or modular without stairs at all, or something like that. You can call it wierd case of internet autism.

its what was pissing me off when i was a kid and into Transformers.
A LOT of transformers never had knee-joints. just straigh up standing legs. and i so wanted a former that could be in a running or sitting pose.

But then again i dont like those mechs (older Ninjago mechs like picrelated are way cooler than these new boring ones)

I guess Lego dumbed down those Movie-mechs so it will be viable for everybody...i dont know why they decided to make "just a red block" or "just a black block - for a bad guy" looking mechs.
They dont have interesting details all over them like they used to.

Rebuilt the leg from one of those timelapse build videos and figuring out how to mod in the joints - it's mostly doable, but the technic wheel bits on the side are gonna need some work

When you get to the mech's legs just use these instructions instead of the set version, mirror it for one of the legs and you'll be all set!

I haven't counted up what extra pieces you'll need for this version, but other than the joint everything else is common stuff you've probably got tons of already.

I wanted a ride for one of my mechs, but I realized misjudged the size of the bike on lego technic set. The hoverbike build kinda worked better for the scale.

[spoiler:lit]This is spooky. I actually did try and make a sigfig for the first time the other day and realized she looks REALLY darn close to what i would actually look like in Lego. I really don't. I had a Frankenstein monster that I though would match the angler fish, but it doesn't. I can't think of any orange heads I have. I think that octopus is like the Earth Orange color. It might be a shade darker. Here is a picture with the tiger god monster for comparison.

I actually quit a while back but admission has really slowed since the place opened three years ago.
As for stuff strewn about, there's also a bunch of abominable snowmen eating popsicles, a cheeseburger car, and Venom hidden in one of the parks.
Oh, and R2 also has a cameo somewhere.
It's best when we set up for events. Sail Boston was a month ago so the MMB put the Sea Cow, a Pirate ship, and the old Ninjago ghost ship in the river.
Halloween was fun with all of the skeletons strewn about.
And for the Star Wars month we had a bunch of ships all over, there was Luke's X-Wing sunk in the pond, a couple Tie Fighters hung on wires and flying between buildings, and the Cantina band set up in the music hall.

Yeah, our Events always make Miniland a bunch of fun, too. We usually leave a little bit of whatever the previous display was. Either by accidentally missing them when cleaning up, or leaving on purpose. (We still have some skeletons at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.)
Last Halloween was the best, as we had large chunks of spider-web strew across the tall buildings, and a bunch of trick or treaters scattered about.
Cheeseburger car sounds like an excellent idea, and I want to make that.
Maybe a Mariachi Band somewhere.

4 The Last Jedi sets descriptions:
Set 1- Crait Ship seen in the trailers,includes F.O. Flametrooper,F.O.Trooper and Pilot
Set 2-Canto Bight chase scene,long landspeeder which looks like the Batmobile,includes 2 different Praetorian Guards,Rose,1 human civillian and 1 alien civillian.
Set 3-This set is very weird,is set on Achto or whatever name the planet has. Includes Luke,Rey,Kylo,1 Knight of Ren,new moulded Porgs and a brick-built Sea Creature with what looks like to be hair? Includes a lot of brick built rocks formations with a cave. Luke usesthe new superheroes action pieces in transparent blue(to recreate the force?)
Aet 4-The set is a new ship which looks weird,it looks to be taken from the Prequels. Minifigures are Leia,Benicio's Del Tore character DJ,Two Executioner Stormtroopers and Finn.

Yeah, it gets better too. Last week I met an old guy who was moving out of state and had a HUGE record collection (400+ and a nice combo record player/radio/dual tape deck) that he didn't want to throw away, so I said I would take them. All I had to do was box them up at his place and drive them a few blocks to my office, then I put them up on the local Facebook flea market and sold them within the hour for $75 cash to a guy that picked them up that afternoon.

A couple days later I met a lady who's having a garage sale that included toys, so I asked her if there were any Legos. At first she said no, but then she remembered that her daughters had a bunch of Friends stuff (but she wasn't sure if that was what I was looking for because they were girl Legos). She just texted me the pictures a few minutes ago. I offered her the $75 right away and she took it.

Apparently I get a free tote bin too because she said she would bring them to my office tomorrow in a tote.

So basically for doing fifteen minutes of carrying heavy boxes around I got a huge pile of Friends sets

That boat, while not my favourite colourscheme is an absoletely awesome set. The interior has this 60's vibe and the way you can watch the fish underneath the boat, beds, utensils, chillin chairs, shower, glass slidingdoors, lots of light, a fucking neat jetski worked away under the slide.
Lots of kids are gonna look back fondly on that one.

$300 US for 4867 pieces.

High price direct to consumer sets are actually one of the best ways to build up a collection, if you're willing to take them apart and forgo impulse buys. Still doesn't beat just buying pieces off bricklink, though.

I think I've made like 3 big orders from AFOL Supply, but they have a massive selection so it's usually cheaper than multiple orders from NA stores once you count shipping (Europe to Canada is actually cheaper than US to Canada)

If they were a little less canted the propellers would collide, as it is they're locked in place by a couple of grille wedges that form intakes, which is a combo I don't want to give up.

(plus trying to translate a floor-length hemline into wings is decidedly boring without flair on the trailing edge, so the particular shot I settled on for inspiration made it make sense to have the canting)
