Army Men and Toy Soldier General

No.6560585 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Time for a new toy soldier thread.

Think along the lines of Army Men and similar toys, the little unpainted plastic figures.

Army Men, Cowboys & Indians, Spacemen, Knights, Ninja Men, Scuba Divers, you name it and it's all good. There's a whole lot more out there too if you know where to look.

Sadly, we're kind of in a bear market for Army Men and toy soldiers, but Army Men in general are one of those perennial toys that goes in and out of style in cycles.

They were big in the 1950's and 1960's, went out of style in the 1970's due to the oil shortage and anti-war sentiment following Vietnam, then they got popular again in the 1980's and 1990's. Recently, they've become unpopular most likely due to the so-called War on Terror and more importantly, the decline of toys in general.

But as long as there are toys, there will always be Army Men.

Also, a little crossover of /toy/ and /tg/ but have any of you ever played wargames or RPG's centered around Army Men or similar toy soldiers?
