Reposting for ideas on how to add legs to this.

Will be removing the handle and possibly the claw (or at least relocating it).

I'll post some ideas of my own once the set arrives and I can fiddle with it, but I'm not particularly mechanically minded so any sort of advice re: the mechanism that will allow all the legs to deploy together would be great.

Part of me wants to build it, but I already have one X-wing built, not to mention I don't really have room for it. I could just dump it to my spare parts, it has some curious things in it. Or I could be a scumbag reseller and throw it on my BL store. The canopy alone is worth several € last I checked, and some of the figs are pretty costly too. Christmas is also coming and some extra cash wouldn't be a bad thing. However, part of me wants to keep BB8 and Poe since I don't have either yet, but I feel like I'll get some down the line.

Tl;dr: got this set cheaply, don't know what to do with it

I stole the legs from 75043 and they work amazingly well. They are obviously controlled separately but it's still a good solution, I think.

The middle/outer ring of the UFO should still spin while it's standing, too.

Don't know that I can be bothered fiddling to fold the legs in on stud.io, though.

I'm getting dangerously close to achieving maximum comfy with my space base. To the point that I may need to get a second shuttle creator set just so I can have the shuttle because I'm not sure I ever want to take this apart.

I just need some more long yellow plates to finish the yellow stripe around the base and smooth white plates to go on top of the tube sections.

I wish Lego didn't constantly change the printing on their astronauts, though. Now I know what SW armybuilders feel. I have an astronaut from a few years ago and two of the CMF astronauts and their suits are just different enough to bother me.

I feel ya, I have all my parts sorted but just one big box for everything that looks confusing and technic because I cant quite grasp what most of the pieces do. I do recommend fucking around with it, its rewarding putting your own dumb play features on stuff.

I remember back in the 2000s, to make a marine you either had to use old space armor that looked nothing like a marine, or make some larger than minifig monstrosity out of robot pieces and dismembered limbs.

Now you can just throw one together with minifig parts.

I sometimes wonder if I would have been more into Town stuff if the Kmart in my hometown had carried Town minifig packs. All they carried were Space and Castle; I only knew the Town ones existed from seeing them in catalogs.

Consequently I have a lot of Space and Castle minifigs compared to the number of sets in those lines.

The roof and walls are made to come off easily because playability.

Those windowed panels are great for stuff like the little corner with a couch. I forgot to put Spooky Tales in there.

If someone is scamming customers on cracklink, they will get their shit pushed in REAL QUICK, because nobody on bricklink tolerates that. The worst you can expect is either someone accidentally sending you a bootlego along with your genuine Danishblokken, someone sending you a cracked piece that isn't labeled as cracked, or someone sending you a part in the wrong color. Still very rare occurrences, because sellers need that sweet feedback.

Shipping depends on the seller, but if you buy from sellers within your country, you probably won't have to wait any longer than a standard mailing would take.

I've had about 50 orders on bricklink, and 45+ of them have been great. Most of the others tried their best to fix the problems as soon as I told them about it.

I shouldn't have to tell you this, but:

- don't buy sets, except "about one year after their launch" (when the price hits its all-time low), use websites like rebrickable to get inventories and instructions of sets with insane prices

- alternatives to bricklink exist: have a look at brickscout (if you're German) and brickowl (if you care about knowing immediately shipping costs)

- always order "new" parts (I mostly order "used" and 80% of those "used" are actually like new, but that 20% was often disappointing)

- use a CAD, and check parts price/availability before using something of bizarre color/shape

- have your stash ordered by color and shape, so that you will know what parts to use to minimize orders

- finally, your MOC should be "modular" because sooner than later you'll want to show it somewhere.

The hair is orange, not blonde, it's just lighting

The only real leaks there are some Batman figs, the nexo guy and tree stump, rest is from Ninjago sets shown recently, you can find clear photos on brickset etc. probably.

do minifigs even really look like the actual characters? aside from LM/TBLM/NM/other actual lego chars, the only way to tell them apart is for their hair and sometimes clothes

Anyone else have a soft spot for old yellow licenced figs? I personally miss the old Harry Potter sets because of how absurd and colorful everything was. That and the slight ugliness of the faces I found more endearing because they changed the style and not just the skinttone. Plus, making Snape gitd to emphasize the fact that he was creepy was a nice touch to me.

Thanks! This tavern is just a stage, but I added the windows and such to break up the textures on the walls. The torsos are all official as well. The left two are from the Hobbit (Laketown guard and some dwarf from the third movie) while the top right torso is from the peasant in the old Studio vampire set.

The first HP sets were honestly pretty nice, they felt like an attempt at illustrating the books with brick-built stuff moreso than a straightforward adaptation of movide designs, if that makes sense. The part selection was great and outside of the boring grey uniforms the figs weren't half bad, either, also imo they weren't ugly compared to other early 2000s themes, the stylization was similar in Studios, Orient Expedition or Island. Also I'm surprised they didn't reuse the idea of each set being a chamber for a larger building in any castle theme yet.

I personally never found them ugly myself, people just tend to say they are but I like how they made them unique by making their prints more realistic than simply making their skin fleshtone. And you have a good point with the book. Snape's classroom came with a Peeves minifigure and with a set like Diagonal Alley, the cardboard backdrop reminds me of the old covers to the books, as well as the just the crazy oranges and teals and pinks in the set itself.

If you want a sizeable build and have the money to drop, Ninjago City is awfully lovable, even if you're not a fan of the series or the movie. I could also recommend other modular buildings, or the Fishing Store, or the Saturn V, just because they incorporate unique building techniques.

That windshield the fits the Stratos very well. I was always bothered by the curved nature of it for most speedchamps but it looks excellent here. I'd raise the rear bumper a plate or 2-3 though and put the tail-lights on the sides though.

How does the physical ring piece (#10067) work? In LDD it can only be connected to a stud on one side but it looks as if it should be able to handle studs from both sides. Would something like the red highlighted piece be able to connect into the ring?

LDD can't handle partially pushing a stud into an anti-stud. It'll hold in real life as long as you don't load it up too much, same as any other one-stud connection.

Most HP sets had these two 1x2 printed tiles and at least one of them was originally from Belville, however otherwise all 3 of these sets with cardboard backgrounds had a lot of rare parts indeed - out of the 5 8x8 plate colors from there only one was ever used in something else and it wasn't a regular set, the door/window frames are all unique, most of the orange, turquise and purple parts never showed up in anything else too. Surprisingly they never reused Ron's and Hermione's turtleneck prints despite them being generic, but to be fair the early 2000s City was essentially 100% cops and firemen.

Sand green going by brickling names, it's a fairly common color nowadays compared to the other sand shades which were mostly purged around 2004, but it's still basically the only large plate in it.

These might be cobbled from parts of multiple villains, the leaks only showed this helmet on the small guys and the previous leak from this guy had regular horns as a stand-in for the new translucent pieces. I kind of hope this means there's only one or two vampires and we'll see some skeleton/zombie heads on the other guys, there are at least 4-5 different ones after all - horned helmet, hornless helmet, small robot, spider legs, bare chest dude if he's not one of the helmet guys with wrong pieces
