Yeah, yeah, I know their Megatron had some problems, largely relating to his floppy tread kibble and stupid alt mode (though that's the fault of the original design, not MS). I still think it's a great display piece in bot mode and is pretty alright for the low prices he's going for but yeah, he wasn't a great toy.
Their Blaster on the other hand was actually pretty dang solid. He fits the aesthetic and scales pretty well with CHUG figures, joints were reasonably solid for an early outing for the company, articulation was great, and transformation was pretty straightforward and worked well. It was pretty obvious that it was a pretool for Soundwave and they confirmed that with a teaser but the company died before getting it out and to this day, it makes me sad. The company had a rocky start but they showed potential and this would have been the first decent 3P Soundwave to hit the market, especially when it came to CHUG scale.
Like, I don't even NEED to have a music player themed Soundwave for my CHUG shelf. I'd take the IDW APC alt if the figure was good because I liked that too but there's also nobody stepping up to make that either. Hell, why can't we have BOTH? Being a REEDUN fan these days is suffering because official has gone full GEEWUN attempt and sucking at it and 3p have all but abandoned CHUG scale, save for a few companies which are still clearly not interested in Soundwave despite his popularity.
