Plus the Terrorcons will set me back a lot, regardless of budgeting, also I'll get yelled at for buying too many toys

Won't Takara be more expensive when considering shipping/handling though? Or are some places cheap/free for North America

Also Slash has too feminine a face for her to be Grimlock

In any case, I still don't own any combiners so I'm feeling a bit left out. Hopefully the Seacons become unpopular or something, so they go on clearance. Maybe the Terrorcons too, "kids don't like mean looking demons with evil names"

Predaking, if it's 5 voyagers, might be expensive. I'm alright with the Seacons and Terrorcons, their design and characterization. Hun-Gurr is the only one that seems meh in PotP

Dreadwind was fun in his letter pages so him and Darkwing are a must-have imo
Is it fine to just get Swoop and no other Dinobots? Grimlock's proportions look a bit strange

Oh so it's a common problem then. I think I know which peg you're talking about, I shaved that part off a little too along with loosening the screw. Tolerances on that toy seems overly tight. Be careful about tabbing the left arm into the back kibble, I got a stress mark on the other side at the base of the vertical stabilizer

How about they use the Overlord/Sky Shadow mold? Have the torso look like Saber, and the tank be heavily modified to look like the V-Star then it combines with the jet/torso to make Star Saber's superjet, then a few simple adjustments and you got the robot mode.
Also they could modify Overlord's cockpit to hold a sword.

Not that anon, but I never got the appeal of clear windshields. Most 'bots that have it just show you a random jumble of garbage on the inside. No molded interior, just arms/heads/etc, more often than not. If you're not gonna bother to have a molded interior for the toy, just make the windows a solid color. It'll look better than seeing a robot head or elbow or knee sticking up like a sore thumb behind the "glass".

I have some of the powered suits and they have a ton of playability. Not a great plastic to price ratio but they have a nice weight to them and the molded details are great for the size. I have to pick up my cosmo maneuver from the post office tomorrow, and I'm hyped as fuck. I also have the new powered suit addons coming in the mail which look amazing. The pic is just using them regularly, but there's also a lot of fan combinations already.

I got the first release of the 2 smaller dianaut pods.

The plastic is good, the build and articulation is great. But damn they are expensive comparing to TT's own Hyper rescue line.

The bigger items are sitting in store being so expensive, though I managed to ordered a dai-battles cosmo with some 2 TLK voyagers for cheap.

At this point i enjoy only small or fucking huge like Triptycon.
and few of Deluxes.
idk its just way more fun to play around with little transformers

Could someone help me out real quick?

I just got Nitro on Thew's recommendation. I like it quite a bit, but I'm getting stuck on the transformation to jet mode.

The right leg doesn't seem to have room to lock into place (pic related, problem area circled).

What am I doing wrong? Instructions are no help.

Also if you're looking for fire or explosion ones, you might want to check eBay, because those ones have been bootlegged to hell and back and are the rarest/most expensive otherwise, and the bootleggers have made them into all different colors.

Only downside is the smaller flame parts (for putting around weapons/arms/whatever) of the bootlegged versions are made of a harder plastic, which means it's a bit to get them around arms/weapons/whatever. The officials are made of a softer, slightly bendy-er plastic.

The right handed gun in that photo is modeled after the one he uses in the headmasters cartoon as more of a pistol type weapon. The thinner gun is one he uses as an all purpose sort of rifle type gun throughout the headmasters series, although in the cartoon that gun is often a weird maroon color.

I'm currently still missing the vast majority of TRs I originally intended to buy while simultaneously looking to get all original early G1 Diaclone-based molds, setting up at the very least the main cast of Beast Wars and finding all those rare and progressively inflating RotF figures that barely had proper releases around here like Long Haul, Bludgeon and HA Mudflap.

Seconding what many others have said about that mold, it really is one of the rare cases where Hasbro objectively wins. The original T30 is still the best one in almost everyone's book, no need to spend almost twice on a version that doesn't even look as good.

Sandstorm is one of the best Transformers ever made. He takes everything that's great about Springer and improves on it. He can be a little back-heavy, but if you have him in a crouch with a pair of guns in his hands, he balances fine and looks like he's about to go on a Yosemite Sam shooting spree.

Man, Overlord has me so bummed out.
It doesn't have any of the geewun gimmicks because of Goldner's underground slave farms needing remodeling, the face is not M E N A C I N G enough, it doesn't come with both Giga and Mega, and the Takara version that does is uglier and less functional.

Maybe I'll just look for a cheap Sky Shadow to repaint and go Zone just to own the mold.

They have comparisond here. The only reason people noticed was due to the reprolabels and from what i checked online the Takara only came in version 2. The only way to get the mirror version is to find an early Hasbro release.

From my experience with diabattles v2 the paint apps are on par with most none-car mp's (IE ALOT), you're mostly paying for the engineering complexity, from how the modular nature of the toy allowing for multiple configurations to the fact each part transforms in some way (tank treads become robot feet, arms become gattling guns etc) plus the spring motor which lets the head rise up on its own that makes you scream DIACLOOOOOOOOOOONE.

The main tradeoff is the size and seemingly zero diecast used, the diaclone armor suits are *sorta* reasonably priced but the new add on sets for those are certainly not, you're paying for plastic sprues at the cost for decent sized bandai model kits that can actually do stuff.

Whatever takara is planning its not to appeal to the western consumer, consider we here like funko pops, marvel legends, and titans return because of price, bare bones recognition of sculpts and articulation.

I fear the need for ko anything other than the main mecha seems a necessity

The rudimentar bright plastic with virtually no color density to it, the clumsy transformation and the overall bland-ness of the alt-mode (imho, I still can't get over the fact that not even movie figures are getting transparent windows nowadays) really makes this an incredibly unpleasant reminder that Transformers have really gone downhill, to the point where a toy as mediocre as this is still of the best in its toyline.

Also, standing him is a fucking pain in the ass, I honestly would argue against getting him as an actual display figure just on the basis of that alone.

I wonder if the movie the best version mix fix that, anyway while clear plastic is nice for windows it does help if there is something under it to look at, otherwise we get mp hotrod where you just look at kibble

Anyone have the Weijiang KO? I like that for better plastic colors, red cross symbol, and the cigar. But Weijiang figures are also arguably not as fun to actually interact with as Hasbro standard release. Some joints are just too tight.

Are you seriously implying that every MP is the clusterfuck that MP-36 is? Talk about delusional. There are plenty of stop motions of older MP transformations, and they are all very straightforward, you can see where everything starts and where it ends up.

MP-36 just explodes into a mess of panels and fragments and reforms in the shape Megatron. It actually reminds me of the baddie transformations in AoE.

I find it kind of funny that Wolfwire's hinge is covered by the plastic in the blister so you can't see if it's broken or not at a glance. I went to buy one last week and noticed that if you looked into the blister you could see that it's broken in most figures.

Do I just shell out the dozens of dollars in a few years, and just enjoy the figure as a guy that I can swoosh and smash around? Planning/hoping to get some MP figures some day. Still doubtful that the KOs are identical to the MPs tho, the differences between the cassette-bots were enough for me to prefer the non-KO paint

I feel like we missed the boat twice on the Chip and Prowl dynamic. Like a Sandstorm repaint of Prowl would have been easy because the head resembles closer to Prowl.

Also they could have done Titans Return Prowl with Titan Master Chip or something.
