Working on a Space Pirates crew that have very specific hobbies.
Now i kind of want to buy that SW-set.
i forgot the name of it. but it looks so NOT- sw-like. More fits to Guardians of Galaxy style.

I feel you man, im in michigan and in my little part of the state I only started seeing them like three months after they went out of style. Same kind of funny thing happened with the halloween theme. Found a few bags at a walgreens after they stopped making them, got a few figs I wanted, then a local target put like 15 CASES of them on the shelves like a half a year later, like they just stumbled upon this dusty box in the back and were like "oh shit......we never stocked these!"

Can't speak for others, but I guess robots and figs wearing full armor look kinda ok. The regular humans fall into the uncanny valley in a "killll meeeee..." sort of way, as if you stuck a regular human head and hands on a scarecrow. That being said, the only one I ever considered buying was the K2S0 figure. Other than that, I prefer the regular mini figs.

There was a somewhat amusing novelty factor to the first wave especially with Grievous and Vader who used the CCBS system pretty well and a lot of people hoped for more of those like Droidekas, battle droids and so on.
Unfortunately, outside of K-2SO most of the figures we got instead, even the unarmored ones, are more or less clones of the same two templates.
You get your single-piece-torso guys like all the troopers and lightsaber action guys like Rey and Kylo, all with only some small variations.
They aren't even that good for parts since three years in and they're STILL using the same torso, shin and shoulder pieces - those figures are the Inika-build of CCBS!
And speaking of Bionicle: let's not even open up that can of conspiracy worms.

and im not that much into Bionicle - never had them.

That's easy, then. I recommend you make a wanted list of pieces you're looking for. You can then use that list to search for stores that have the most number of pieces you're looking for, or you can check individual stores for what they have that's on your list. I stick mostly to sellers with feedback history and haven't had any real trouble.

All lego needs to do is make some of the droids. General Grievous proved that they work even when significantly abstracted, and if there's anything good about the original trilogy, it's the droid designs.

They could even re-use some molds from the last bionicle lines, like the skeleton bones and the piece that comnected the creatures to the toa heroes.

They just aren't doing this because they don't give a fuck.

So... one guy im working with has this idea of making our own Lego Keychains.
but with a specific character. so they can be sold in a limited numbers.

I already told him that its impossible - you cant make a sturdy keychain out of regular klocki. Because all of its pieces will separate in your pocket.

But still.
Is it possible? I know lego keychains made with different method so you cant take head/legs off. Is there a way to make the same with just regular minifigure you built?

my destinys bounty arrived a few days ago and the huge box is sitting here next to my bed. it's motivation to tidy and organize my room/study coz i looked inside the box and there's at least 15 different assorted bags of lego in there and i'm gonna need space to build it. i'll post a few pics as i build it, more than likely starting tomorrow afternoon. The plan is to place it on top of my lil book case (which needs to be put together too, won't take long).

the only other lego set i really want at the moment is the old fishing shop but i dont think any of the stores that stock it here do the fort-nightly payment plan that i used for the bounty, so not sure what i'm gonna do about that.

It doesn't look very derelict because you have too many neat, straight pieces. Instead of straight tubes, use the bars with elbow on one end to make sections of rail look bent. Also, try varying how the solid parts are put together so they don't look so uniform and smooth.

I agree, you also need to rethink your colors. Look at the picture here >>6603436 and notice how the rust is playing off the different metals and painted surfaces on the train. Or I would simplify your colors in general (getting rid of the white and that tan color in the front would help)
Try making it one solid color to figure out your shaping and then use pops of color for accents or to signify important elements

If you're looking for inspiration I'll highly suggest that you go to Flickr and search the following users, lingonkart, hugebricks, zemata, l.a. miranda, djokson, csaba, Eero Okkonen, Moko, and me, E-why.

These guys all make great mechs/robots/gynoids/lego figures and would be great places to start if you're looking for some ideas.

i live in my own place and stuff but wallpapers here suck so much.
So every time i make photos they look like i live with grandmother in 1960s.

i should stop being lazy ass and change something. But i have no idea what to have.
Wallpapers usually make home a little more "comfy". Id hate to live with just one color.

I've become the owner of 10 Lego Club Lime Maxes. And three of his torsos, one pair of his pants, and a single extra hairpiece. I'd rather have more klocki than 10 magazine mascots. Being as we're on page 6 and in autosage, now seems like the best time to ask this in order to avoid making the whole thread into a shitshow.

We all agree that cutting Lego is the worst sin against the brick? Heretics and Purists can agree on that, right?
Well what about cutting third party accessories?
Like if someone bought a gun from BrickArms and then cut the barrel down, or cut off the scope/silencer/whatever, in order to physically modify it, how would you feel?

I think with figure parts and accessories everything is allowed as long as you don't cake milimeter thick paint on it like the newest customizers. Painting to make figure parts and accessories in new colors is always allowed. And mutilating third party parts is always ok since it isn't Lego.

Brickarms themselves cut parts they sold. For "new" Shotguns they cut of the scope from Tactical Shotguns because it was cheaper or easier than having two moulds.

Genuinely prefer flesh coloured. I've never really bought the whole 'yellow represents every race, honest!' approach, and I like having a nice variety of colours in my scenes and builds.

I saw this posted elsewhere in crap quality. This version makes it clear that there is an orange and blue jester sitting in the back (see the wings with 6 stud shooters with orange and blue cones).

Someone else said that it was a new Axl face, looks that way. Hopefully new faces for all the knights. I'm not sure what the flick fire missles is pointed at, but those look like spring loaded.

I used to advocate for sorting bricks by color, but now that I've switched over to sorting everything by type, it's much easier to build things quickly.

I have drawers full of Ziploc bags full of pieces sorted by type. You could do the same thing with your bins, as my drawers are organized with the 1x1 plates in the front on the far right, 1x2 plates behind that bag, 1x3 plates behind that bag, etc. etc.
