I've always wondered, why are the Blacktron bad guys? They've been described as thieves and villains, but what have they done? What is their motive?

TLG needed a villain faction to push their "good guy - besieged civilian - bad guy" narrative.

From the catalogs, Blacktron have engaged in monorail robbery and theft of magnets. They also engaged in attempted theft of probing material, but were thwarted by the extreme cold of Krysto.

It's a bit disappointing that they are just your stereotypical "bad guys". I would prefer it if they have a more compelling motive. Something like political revolutionaries, who despise the Galactic council.

You are aware you don't need to adhere to 'lego canon' and can make up whatever shit you want, right?

I only had one Blacktron minifig as a kid so he was always the hero.

Mine has to be the Saturn Rocket. I finished it yesterday and I love its massive presence. I almost want to hang it on the wall.

Because it made me happy. + its badass and cool
Aaaand you can also attach a boombox so it wil look like you can listen to music while riding mech dragon through space and time!
PS:
other than that i think Ninjago City would be my absolute favorite but i didn't get it (i had money but decided to get Transformers Titans return: Trypticon)
Totally gonna buy Diner modular next year tho and hope it will be my favorite of 2018
