Lego City Cryptids sets ideas:
Starter set:2 Cryptid hunters,one ATV and Chupacabra(set includes a goat).
Set 1:Mothman's ambush:Includes-2 Cryptid hunters,Mothman and a jeep with net launcher and some cave for Mothman or tree.
Set 2:Bigfoot's Cave:Includes-Bigfoot,2 Cryptid hunters,a cave,1 citizen,a tree and an vehicle.

What do you do with your legos, /toy/?

I have a bunch and I'm not sure what to build or do with them. I kind of wanted to get one of the train sets to mess around with those but I'm not sure.

Hey now, you NEVER lean over a drop like that without proper support, so the alien dude is giving him the best support at all. I mean Frenchie Le Robore cannot possibly fall if he has a prob lodged up his butt, right? Right?

Anyway it's a great set. Use it with the Back to the Future Ideas car for relatively cheap movie reenactment.

well, when i get the right sets/pieces and the right space i am gonna build some stuff from the fantasy world idea i have. pretty classic stuff like a small forest and a hideout and then a wizard's home etc, a cave with some critters

LEGO JUNIOR HELICOPTER SET 10756:
A very small set which includes a red/grey Pteranodon identical to Jurassic World LEGO release, a small blue/grey 1-man helicopter, 2 ‘volcanic bombs’, a brown rock facade with fire coming out, a small weapons cache/computer base displaying the volcano, and two generic mercenary minifigs.
LEGO JUNIOR RAPTOR CAPTURE SET 10757:
Another small set. Includes a green generic Velociraptor (not based on a film design), a small blue/grey dino-capture vehicle (which kinda looks like an airport luggage car but with a open top cage on the back). Two minifigs: generic merc + Owen Grady (he’s wearing his Fallen Kingdom outfit and is holding a chicken leg on a pole). It’s time to note Owens minifig face looks like a creepy uncle, with a mullet and a weird mustache. It’s an odd look.
LEGO JUNIOR TYRANNOSAURUS GATES SET 10758:
Includes a T-Rex (exactly the same as 2015’s), a small buildable Jurassic World gate with an attached ladder and railings, and a simple crane arm with a hot dog attached. The main part of the gate build is all one piece and printed (gate decals + overgrowth) like you typically see in the Juniors sets. A very small, JW themed golf cart like vehicle is included. Also included is small screen displaying a Nublar map, little cage + a generic brown baby dinosaur, and two eggs with incubators. The three minifigs are Claire (in her Fallen Kingdom outfit), a generic Merc, and a mystery character who looks a little like Lowery’s evil twin.

LEGO PTERANODON CAPTURE SET 75926:
Includes a 1-man, off-road light grey Jeep with dark blue stripes – mounted on the back is a bright yellow net launcher. The dinosaur included is a Pteranondon – while it’s the same mold and color scheme as the others, the grey color has been swapped out for an olive green. Two minifigures: Owen (same outfit & face as set 10757) and a mercenary.
LEGO STYGIMOLOCH RESEARCH SET 75927:
Includes a small fence impound (almost identical to 2015’s ‘Raptor Escape’ set) plus a Stygimoloch. The compound looks hi-tech and has a glass observation window- next to the window is a display screen showing a Stygimoloch skull. The Stygimoloch is light brown with orange and dark brown stripes + a cream colored crown. The body is the same as the Raptors and Dilophosaurus, with the Dilo’s feet – it has a longer graceful head shape, and new arm sculpts. Two minifigures: Dr. Henry Wu and a Mercenary.
LEGO HELICOPTER CAPTURE TRANSPORT SET 75928:
Includes a larger militaristic dark blue helicopter (looks similiar to a Mi-17 and has a ‘JW16N15’ decal) with a gatling gun on the left flank, a cage with dino-food in it which can be lowered from the helicopter, small red ATV with a trailer attached, and a dinosaur egg + carrying case. The dinosaur included is Velociraptor Blue, though her color scheme has been altered from the 2015 release to beige and aquamarine rather than green (making her closer to the Delta LEGO Raptor with Blue’s stripe) – most striking are her orange eyes. Overall, her new color pattern is more accurate, but the color choices again seem off. The three minifigs are a generic merc wearing large goggles, Ted Levine’s character Wheatley, and Owen Grady (again the same as the other sets, but this time he has a backpack and a crossbow).

LEGO CARNOTAURUS CARNAGE SET 75929:
Includes a larger armored truck in grey and black with a dark blue stripe – the vehicle is very similar to the MVU from the ‘Raptor Rampage’ set, but more rugged. A trailer attaches to the back of it, which has some gear, which almost looks like a satellite dish. The set also includes a small overgrown Gyrosphere station, sporting the ride sign as seen in Jurassic World, plus a Gyrosphere vehicle. Three eggs are hidden in a nest within the overgrowth of the station – the final accessories are a small computer station (looks similar to that in the bunker as seen in the trailer) plus a generic baby dinosaur (same as set 10758). A oversized Carnotaurus stars in this set – the body is a repaint of 2015’s Indominus Rex, but with a new head sculpt and arms (featuring only 3 fingers, rather than the proper 4). The head sculpt looks incredibly cartoony and generic, not resembling that of the films dinosaur at all. Her colors are light brown with darker brown overtop, and a few small spots of orange – again, it looks nothing like the vividly rust colored Carnotaurus from the film. Claire (same as the other set), Franklin (played by Justice Smith), and Owen (he’s only wearing his blue henley with no brown vest this time) are the minifigs.

LEGO LOCKWOOD SHOWDOWN SET 75930:
The largest of the bunch, it includes a big mansion-looking facade (which looks more like a Barbie Dreamhouse than a LEGO build) based on Lockwood’s estate. While the image did not feature the back half, it does seem to have some small floor platforms jutting out from the back with basic household accessories. Overall, the mansion is quite plain looking and isn’t aesthetically interesting – especially as it consists of larger flat pieces. There are two dinosaurs in the set: Velociraptor Blue, and larger mystery dinosaur (the Indoraptor?) which is darker colored. The set also includes a large buildable Triceratops skull, which fans will recognize from the first Fallen Kingdom set picture, and Owens motorcycle (the same as 2015’s). Six minifugres top off the set – Owen (with his vest once again), Claire (same as the other sets), Maisie (the young girl from the film) holding a brown dinosaur toy/baby (same as the other sets), Wheatley (same as 75928), two guys in black suits, one of which is likely Rafe Spall’s character Eli Mills.

Neither of those really give any legit agument to Lego doing a Cryptids line.
Having an Arctic Expedition find the frozen remains of mammoths, sabertooth tigers or other Ice-Age/Stone-Age creatures and megafauna is not some strange and out there idea. It happens in the real world.
And just because Animal Planet made Cryptid toys, doesn't mean Lego will. Mega Bloks made toys based on a First Person Shooter/War Video Game. Doesn't mean Lego is rushing to try and release there own Licensed FPS Game sets.

This is the first time I've purchased one of these sets and honestly the main reason I did was because of the discounted price. It cost me around 9 dollars and 50 cents Australian and after opening it up, building it, and having a good look at it, I definitely think that was a really good price for what I got.

There's a myriad of interesting pieces which fit together nicely. The set design feels neat and the minifigure, in my opinion, has some really nice designs as well which can be used for mocs of multiple different varieties.

Usually I am not that interested in large lego weapons, or what I consider to be 'over-the-top' weapon design. However I do like the weapon that is held in the hand of this character as it is a two piece build and the blade part has multiple different connections which I really appreciate.

The shield is something that I really like and as other anons have pointed out these nexo power thingies can be used as signs in mocs which I really like.

Finally, playability is really high with this. The minifig design (incorporating the entire contraption on it's back) has a lot of articulation, way more than i realized, and the blades are able to be spun around which is, you know, fun.

Overall really happy with this purchase.

I am someone who has had vivid dreams consistently for the past decade and a bit. As someone who dreams often I can say that be wary of looking into the meaning of dreams. However, you have asked, so in my opinion your dream relates to the current ebb and flow of klocki - in the sense that we are currently moving through the in-between season phase and I get the feeling that you are looking forward to new sets however they aren't released yet, ergo, the store in this dream has the almost complete opposite of what you are desiring, rather than new interesting lego sets, it has shitty, bootleg version of things you already have. I dunno the price of it or what it would be priced when on discount in say America or Europe but over here in the land down under this was a decent pick up. I don't think I could have bought all of the pieces in this set from bricklink and paid less than what I have.

It's a bit odd because normally anon I do think lego does over-price quite a bit for many of their items, given that they are such a huge company who just poops out plastic bricks 24/7, but this is a moment where I think things were pretty fair.

LQ shoots with a pretty basic point-and-shoot camera. His image quality is good because he supplements the limits of the camera's tech by using good lightning and then boosting some contrast in photoshop afterwards.

A good camera for taking pictures of lego is one that won't break your bank, one that is easy for you to use, one that is easy to move around and doesn't have like sixteen cases of shit for you to set up or take down every time - basically just a point-and-shoot camera will be fine.

Buy a cheap point and shoot camera on sale. Then buy a lamp or two for setting up decent lightning - you'll want clear, bright light at first (minimizing shadows + maximizing details) - the clearer the light the easier it will be for the sensor in your camera to pick up the details without resorting to algorithms to fill in lost detail.

Once you have your camera, a lamp or two, you can then look into building a light box or w/e the fuck they cal them which can help setting up scenes or basically just moving the light where you want it to go.

I'm very content with being white, but not being able to pull off a sick flat-top like that is a real shame. I loved the hair on the Ninjago movie Zane too, the combo of that new piece and the printing wrapped around his head looked really nice. The more retro simple printing style was just icing on the cake.
Never got to see the movie, but sensed many Vanilla-Ice jokes.

I dreamt a 20 seconds LEGO ad of a Friends subtheme with aliens minidolls. With a MIB minidoll, two Bogdanoffs (with a HUGE zoom on the minidoll head in the ad), one grey ayylmao and weird frog men. They had a frog for a head (a new Friends styled big toad mold) on a green minidoll body.

They actually built the set in a diorama for the boxart instead of photoshopping all their shit in. Plus, the exploration bit everyone has mentioned previously. Anyone know when Lego actually started to replace real life shots of their products with clipart?

I think the pop-up book might win. The car is just some car and they already made a car recently; A Christmas Story is basically unknown outside of america and so is Rupaul (and i doubt lego would make a set about crossdressers or whatever that show is) and the others are just derivatives of the Fishing Store set, which is against the spirit of Ideas. They are not going to release a sequel to a previous Ideas set, what they might do instead is start a theme like they did for Minecraft.

i think they made that happen because of the whole "respect whemen" climate and because they're tiny sets. The seaside buildings sets are really nice but too big and expensive. I think they might come out with a short-run theme with slightly smaller builds if they keep being popular on Ideas.

I just finished building this set now and I must say that it exceeded my expectations quite a bit.

The set has around 10 stickers of various sizes, none of which I have applied, I may choose to apply some at a later date, not sure yet.

I bought the set because it was on sale and because I thought it could have some interesting pieces and be a fun build - despite it honestly looking a bit simple and almost boring on the box.

As I said I was pleasantly surprised, the set comes with lots of different useful parts - and for me, they essentially can be classified as landscaping and mechanical/cybertech.

There's lots and lots of green studs, green bricks of various shapes and sizes, and some other pieces which are of different colours (white and dark grey for example) which are ornate in a way and could be useful in building landscapes. But yes, there's a lot of greenery which I quite like because 'greebling' with foilage and such is something I think is pretty neat.

The other half of the parts all lend themselves really well to mechanical/cybertech builds (e.g. mechs, space cargo shuttles, science labs, etc etc). There's a lot of pieces related to joints and connectors and stuff like that. The mech itself of the set has a lot of articulation. Also there's the fluoro pieces which often add a nice touch to mechs or cybertech mocs and there are the other obvious pieces like the stud shooter things (gatling gun stud shooters, which I wasn't aware about, pretty gnarly) and the "wheel" pieces which are often used as hoverklocki engines. What is important to note as well though is the stuff that you don't get to see unless you build this thing yourself. I am still a lego novice so some of the techniques used in this build may be old news to many of you, and honestly I have no idea what the particular terms or phrases are to describe some of these build techniques they used, but basically, throughout the build I was often pleasantly surprised.

These tiny, slim but strong, tan gears, which sit neatly in a lego piece, and they connect to one another, so activating the top gear then turns the two gears beneath it on either side (you twist the nob at the top of the mech and this spins the arms). It was my first time coming across these pieces and this function and I gotta say it's really neat.

The mech itself is really, really sturdy. It may not look like it is but it is. As I said it has a lot of articulation and a lot of stuff moves but none of it falls off and it's honestly, at least to me, a really good example of how to build a sturdy mech with a lot of moving parts.

Other good stuff in the set that I like:

The boat is really simple but looks good, it comes together nicely and has some neat pieces.

I like the white wolf figure thing, just an interesting design - they actually have a headpiece that gives them cat-like ears, which I didn't realize until I was putting that minifig together.

The green wings on the green guy are pretty sweet as well. I think they'd look good utilized in some way as an ornate structure.

I don't really care much for the surfboard, nor for spidey. but I do like spiderweb piece and I like the see-through connector stud they use to connect it to spidey.

A suggest I will make which could help you with the backdrop is to either purchase some "big ugly rock pieces" (pretty sure that's their official name in the bricklink/lego world) as they take up space and provide a nice platform to build on top of. I don't know what kinda prices they are running at right now though, so you may want to check that.

I do know that duplo bricks and plates are quite cheap and work fantastically as the foundations of backdrop structures and just large structures in general. They connect perfectly with lego bricks, take up way more space than the average lego brick, and so are a cheap and useful way to quickly build the scaffolding or foundation of landscapes/monuments/backdrops. Once you have the general design built in duplo you then build on top of it with regular lego bricks and it looks great plus saves time and money.

Thanks. I'm trying to restrict myself to the sets from the Pirates line, including the chess set, so it's probably going to be more white than blue. That said, the chess set does have a decent volume of blue bricks.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to solve the sail problem? The sails included with the Brick Bounty are pretty unambiguously pirate.

They pretty much went back to doing one-off themes that wouldn't last for more than a single wave under the City banner, that's pretty decent and I'm willing to suffer through annual police stuff if it means more subthemes like jungle explorers.

why do they have to force those cranks in the back which move the arms? it has no point, you can adjust and play with them yourself and it looks retarded. I have a K2, it's passable there, but on Maul it looks ridiculous.

Because the default body used now was developed for bonkle, and since bonkle only appealed to people nostalgic for vague memories of the originals, they had to have the same mechanism adapted for a Hero Factory-style body.

I have like three modular mocs half done in LDD that I've sort of started building. I'm too indecisive and struggle to focus on one build at a time. I finished a pretty neat car before the holidays at least, but the weather has been too crap to take any pictures yet.
