The Hamley's one is 6 pounds and the only difference are small print details (lack of medals, some white parts of the print are golden and vice versa) and different hand color, you should be able to find a couple of the CMF guardson bricklink or elsewhere for slightly less. The original also came with a rifle but it seems like it inflates the price considerably (probably because the Adventures rifle was never available in brown elsewhere) so if you have weaponry of your choice for them already there's not much of a point in it. If you're really desperate there are bootlegs of this guy too, but they come from a no name brand even by bootlego standards afaik so quality might be questionable.

My local Walmart looked like a bomb went off in the lego aisle. Everything picked over, nearly everything on some level of sale or clearance. Well, if they weren't already gone anyway. Picked up the creator house for 24 bucks and found a lone polybag Quake Mech. Oh, and some Nexo series 1 shield powerups.

Jurassic World sets are displayed as blank boxes in the dealer's catalogue because due to licensing agreements Lego has to make sure as little as possible gets out, odds are high we'll only get decent photos of them around Toy Fair. There were no leaked figures or pieces from the factories for it, either.

What is the bullshit. I never once got into a disagreement with any sellers on Bricklink. I never once failed to make a payment I always pay immediately through paypal. I have over 20 feedback all praise. Why am I blacklisted? I never did anything to anyone on bricklink. I keep to myself and just buy bricks but this seller has me not only on a stop list but also blocked as I couldn't place an order or message the store. I'm so confused I've been using bricklink for over four years and never did anything more than order from stores and that ia it.

I've just begun rebuilding the Brick Bounty into a bluecoat ship, using pieces from the other sets from the line, as well as this one. The plan is to move the house further back, giving the ship a bit more length and space, as well as building a deck above the cannons. Some of the details will need to be changed, especially the red colours. I still don't see a proper solution to the sail problem, though.

I have a £20 Toys R Us voucher that expires in a week. Unfortunately its for online stock only which limits my choice to mostly new, overpriced and undiscounted sets. If certain Batman Movie W1, Nexo Knights, or Speed Champion sets were still available I'd be set already.

Im a grown up man but my apartament is full of toys. i spent so many money on klocki...i could instead just go to Berlin or buy cool clothes instead

but then again - few days in berlin or clothes wont fill my void as much as klocki do
sometimes when im sad and cant sleep i make tea and build something watching a comfy movie and it makes me feel so much better

which....means...its acually a good investiment.
+ it can sell well if i wont need it.

I just finished this build and I gotta say it was a lot of fun. Once again it doesn't really look like it but this set, specifically the golem, has some fantastic parts, especially if you are into building mechas.

My plan is to turn the clayface guy into an earth golem to be in my fantasy world. Basically I'm gonna cover it in greenery and foliage, essentially plant greebling. I'm not sure how it will turn out but fingers crossed it goes well.

Every time anyone asks whats the best current Lego theme, I always reply Elves. The downside for you is that the minidolls only have so much compatibility with minifigs. If that's a dealbreaker, go for current ninjago sets. The SoG smaller ones have some neat parts.

For the plant golem, i'm not sure if there are many crazy things you could do with his upperjaw/crochead, but his arms can definately be modded a lot using pin and bar connections with maybe some completely brickbuilt limbs even.

oh the golem thing im referring to is the clayface mecha, in pic related. But more specifically, I want an earth golem for my planned fantasy world moc. So I bought the clayface set as a kind of base foundation for the earth golem (the set was on sale) and it helps coz I don't hve that many pieces and wouldn't have been able to make such a sturdy and neat mecha myself. So my plan is to use the lego pieces I have already which resemble or can resemble moss/plants/foliage and basically cover clayface in that and those will be the beginning of the modifications I make. I'll see how it goes, I may need to make a bricklink purchase to get more greenery to put on clayface but we shall see. I'll post a pic of the mods once I'm done in a day or so.

Last thread one anon asked why people use the term "mech" and not "mecha" and basically, as far as I am aware and from what I have seen on official merchandise, Lego uses the term "mech" to denote mechanical structures piloted by humans, and so that's why I think most people also use that term.

Just updated my old gray roadplates with dark bley ones. Not often, but they can fill up a larger space nicely without having to make a very thick and parts intensive skeletal structure underneath. I do put tiling over them when possible to help more dynamic and diverse posing though.

I see. I am planning on build a scene and I'm just wondering if I should purchase a baseplate(s) or not. I do want things to be sturdy and the baseplates obviously help lock things down... I just don't know how well the baseplates connect with one another, i have heard of gaps, that they may not be flush, and things like that.

I don't know of any other option tho instead of lego baseplates for when it comes to building a scene involving a decent amount of space.

A "mech" is basically just a tank with limbs, the cockpit serves as the head or body and has very few human characteristics. See Egghead's mech from the new lego batman set.
A "mecha" is a mostly humanoid Robot that either has the pilot fully enclosed or just barely visible. The robot has two arms, two legs, a torso, and a head. Even though it's called a mech, Garmadon's Shark Robot is technically a mecha.

The baseplates have rounded corners. If you don't cover these with plates, tiles or a structure that will be visible. There will also be gaps between the baseplates.

I'd first plan or think about how large you want your structures to be, if you want some sidewalk or something next to them, how large those sidewalks have to be and if you want to connect several structures together at some point.
Baseplates give a lot of coverage, but are limited to some specific dimensions (32x32 16x32 12x6 etc.). Making a fully custom platebuilt structure will give you a lot more options and versatility (odd number of studs and maybe even non-square shapes). But they do use up way more parts and will be thicker. Especially if you want some sort of subtle elevation.
You can ofcourse experiment using both.

The only thing I got so far was a baseplate and (another) Quake Minimech polybag, but I really think I'll kick myself for passing up the redhulk even though I'm not into capeshit. That red bigfig will make an excellent addition to my demonic army, and I can always use more chromatic space babes.

Damn. My local Walmart had crap. They did have a few sets but nothing on clearance. The shelves were empty. The sets they did have I scanned and they came up like $5 off of retail so no deals there. They did have 2 fun at the beach sets for $19 but I already own two of them when the local Bennys went under and everything was %50 off.

Is it worth getting more of them at that price?? I don't think I'd resell them and just don't see the need for another bunch of minifigs for my already overpopulated town. Hmm... Thoughts?

And I think the only two-seaters you'll find are licensed sets like Simpsons or Iron Man because otherwise they'd have to make two versions of the car with the steering wheel on either side. Better to just build your own!

None, build your own. Lego likes to build big vehicles and give them one big padded seat.
Pic related is the classic technique to fit two minifigs side by side, highly recommend you use this.

That piranha was pretty sweet. Blink and you miss it in the film, though, but no surprise there.

I was surprised how the movie played out in that the super awesome mechs were all in the beginning of the flick and were then trashed. Meanwhile the final showdown was just spinning minifigures and a kitten. Seems like the wrong way 'round to sell toys by first showing the mechs sucked and all you need are figs, but what the hell it'd be too close to Lego Batman where every villain decided to make their own shit.

While I realize this thread hasn't been the best ever of all time, stop freaking out over an obvious joke. People going aggro at the slightest excuse are part of the problem.

Though for what it is worth we've also seen plenty of parts in licensed sets that haven't been reused. Fortunately I'm sure longer versions of standard minifigure arms and legs wouldn't count, or at least shouldn't.

I decided to add an actual bedroom to their cottage with a door leading to the roof telescope. Safety railing comes later. Thank god for this modular building system (actually a pretty creative idea).

Shulkie legs are not dual-molded, probably because there aren't any other sets coming out with green and white legs, so no green butt in a thong with go-go boots

I got it as a gift so I can’t say if it’s worth the money but I definitely do enjoy it. Lola is a neat car, Detroit Steel is a cool mech even if it is basically Hulkbuster with crappy weapons literally pinned on to his arms, and I love that the helmeted figs come with separate hair pieces. Thought I’d scrap Detroit Steel for parts instantly but I just can’t bring myself to destroy it, it’s too cool. Wish the Head was bigger though.

Jenny's back printing is a pissed-off face that looks pretty nice with armor.

There's also the Statue of Liberty which is a very placid female face in sand green.

Otherwise there are the various green-skinned witches, both licensed and CMF, if you're looking for a she-orc that's not a green elf with tusks.
