nah, the Energon combiners were pretty terrible and a peak example of Archer trolling. Oh hey, 80's nostalgia is in full swing, and everyone wants new combiners!? Lets half ass it and make unsatisfying updates with completely different head designs and colors that only barely evoke the originals!

The limbs themselves were ok as standalone figures, but at the time I preferred just getting KOs of the original toys in easter baskets.

The limbs ran quite the range. The worst was the crane, though the helocopter was pretty crap too. Best was payloader and jet. Ironically, Jet had the worst limb mode of all and even needed an extra piece to do it.

Wtf, why all this bitching about freaking toys? I love the prime trilogy toys and i think they're pretty good. remember that these are T O Y S and no masterpieces. If you want quality go get third party of masterpieces and stop bitching about all this nonsense. Are the latter options too expensive for you? Even less reason to complain you poorfags. If you think they can be much better than i would like to see you try with what restrictions you have (some of you are so oblivious to budgets n stuff). I honestly just wish they'd had like little cockpits built into the bots themselves and left us with the HFGs. Like I can 100% envision a solution where one of the "faces" of the combiner peg has a recess for the Primemaster to plug into instead of the awful armor. Or just a flap that lifts up on alt mode or something. I like everything about it except the execution of the "prime armor".

They should have had a slot on their robot shoulders so Prime Masters could just sit like a shoulder angel/devil and buff them willingly. I can’t see Liege Maximo+Grimlock not ending horribly, or Dreadwind and Solus Prime.

I also feel some transparent plastic would do better. Make them look more like tiny gods and explain why they actually need the shell disguise so much.

People have WAY different standards for 3P shit, especially considering how expensive it is. Sometimes a 3P figure can have a "to-do" list of like 20 things that need to be fixed right out of the box in order for it to not break itself, but people who spent their shekels on it will still claim its amazing.

I'm pretty excited for Primal. I think he's going to have the most play value out of all the other Leader class toys.

Only thing I'm on the fence about is what to do with the Optimal body if you just want to display the Primal figure. The other Leader class toys just have trailers that display fine on their own but what can you do with a big gorilla body? Maybe leave him in his jet mode like Star Saber?

I bought PotP Swoop yesterday and I'm pissed that I wanted him.

Yeah, he has decent poseability and his joints aren't floppy. But the wings don't sweep back. They can only stick out sideways behind him.

I'm pissed that his transformation is almost nothing. At least his flight battle mode with the extra-piece add-on is kinda cool.

Basically I'm pissed that it's kind-of a mediocre toy all around but I still like it so much.

Fuck you, Swoop.

Does anyone else not like these Power of Prime Combiners? When I first saw the Dinobot one I thought it looked bad, little did I know it was the best of the bunch so far.

Well it's still the same old T30 Windblade mold, which has decent articulation, but feels kind of flimsy and is known to be very difficult to pose due to being extremely back heavy with almost no heel.

It's neat to have but I wouldn't pay a lot of money for it.

TR Galvatron's only flaw was the head. It's a big flaw, but not the kind of flaw that can let you argue Hasbro cannot make a Galvatron.

Hun-Grr torso mode is growing on me lately but the beast and robot modes are a disgrace.

I think that the "fins" on the dragon heads' necks together with how thin the beast shoulders/robot crotch section are what ruin the proportions.
The boots on robot mode look so huge that the robot feels like a stowaway to them and the dragon heads look oversized on beast mode, being bipedal hides that in beast mode I guess, but I don't want to need to think of ways to hide design flaws on my toys.

I never got CW Silverbolt because of Four Degrees of Air Raid in the way of completing Superion so I never thought much of it but the giant shins are definitely a problem with that mold.

I was thinking, I really don't understand why Hung-Grr was the Silverbolt retool (but muh 100% new mold, come on we all know it basically is), instead of Starscream, and Hun-Grr got the new mold. Because Starscream's transformation is basically Silverbolt's (how the legs and torso form, and the head reveal), why wasn't he the guy who used pretty much the same design? Change all her airplane parts to Cybertronian car parts I think would work great. new lower legs and new kibble backpack, maybe something with the arms? It wouldn't be anything any more intense than the CW prime kits that scaled him up to leader size. The torso looks fine already if you just pop off the wing tips, so something that eliminates them completely for something else would be nice.

My best guess is that Superion and Abominus' chests are kind of similar so they designed the rest of Hun-Grr from that.
I always say that Hot Spot would've made a better base if using a previous mold was absolutely necessary but then again I have said that about every combiner torso I wasn't happy about; I still realize that getting the chest to store in beast mode would've been significantly more difficult if that was the base mold, though.

I'd recommend the other deluxe Dinobots as Grimlock is the only one hampered by the combiner gimmick, the rest work great as stand alone figures if you want G1 with more articulation.
