I'm really hoping the ridge around the arm socket doesn't interfere with it being placed directly next to another brick. I think these bricks might be slightly narrower than a regular brick (but the studs are the same distance apart) to account for the arm socket ridges, so they should fit with regular bricks.

Toys R Us is such shit. They don't even answer their fucking phones. Apparently they will know by tomorrow or something if is going under or not. Seriously every one of their employees seems incompetent and they are not even one of the stores set to close. No wonder they are going to hell, nobody wants to deal with their unprofessional business practice. You guy's should have seen the star shit shelves. I don't think anyone is buying a single set. The 2018 sets are already going down in price lol.

On a side note, I picked up the classic mission to mars and the Knighton Castle nexoshit set for parts.

shitposting and /pol/ aside, lego isn't real. if you want to make a moc with all male cops they provide parts for that. if you want to make a moc with all female cops they provide parts for that. by somewhat evenly distributing sexes, we get parts for both. if it really bothers you then just swap the parts around. AFAIK there are not many 'gendered' torsos and hats for female cops, but there are lots of generless and barely noticable curves toroso and police hats/helmets and non-police specific hats/hairs you can put on male heads if the lip print bothers you.

Put together another four residential stacks this weekend. Built them yesterday, wired them today. They're too tall for the posterboard backdrops, so I'll have to get a big piece of cloth for a background. I have a third set of stacks of equal height that I put together last week but I'm not going to post pictures of it until everything is finished.

Yes you can make cool mocs in ldd yes you can't make what ever you put your "mind" too. The caveat is if you never built it tho you don't know if it has the stability of a house of cards or not and also you don't even know if the fucking pieces are available. Someone on this form was trying to sell people his bionicle moc sets in mini figure scale and half of his pieces didn't even exist in certain colors.

If you are feeling creative I suggest you get some of the new creator sets (the 60 Year commemorative ones). Some of them even have minifigs with the oldie generic faces.

Lego is becoming a toyline akin to Funko and you're just not willing to admit it yet. I feel the same way. Figures are only interesting for hair pieces, helmets, Alien heads and similar special stuff since faces are getting way too similar between each other. Price/piece ratio is getting ridiculous with things like 25€ for the Bat Buggy that is obviously a 15€ set. Star Wars sets, especially those released for the numbered movies during Force Friday are on an obviously different pricing scheme than all other sets.
The only things I buy new regularly are blind bags for the NEVER EVER re-release parts and D2Cs for the good designs (which are also getting rarer and rarer, just look at the Diner, I think I will just remove the upper floors).

All the bogies can turn, and have enough space under the fairings that they should be able to handle the curves allowed by the maximum angle car-to-car. The locomotive does need articulation but any functional solution would look ugly in LDD (I'm sure there's a way to make a rubber seal between the halves but LDD doesn't have flex on the right parts).

So I just finished building pic related and it’s an undeniably impressive mech, albeit lacking in several key areas. Since I don’t give a fuck about Ninjago I’m probsbly going to restructure it in several ways including
-giving it actual forearms and hands
-giving it knees
-reworking hops and floppy shoulders
-rebuilding the torso (although I DO want to keep the pilot feature, don’t know how I’ll do that though
-adding an actual head

Any advice on how to achieve all this? I know one guy on YouTube has a mod guide for some of the stuff but otherwise I’m lost Haha

Why not? It's a nice looking house, and if you feel like following instruction is lame or something, you can make floors and furniture, make some overall improvements.
Speaking of rebuilding old sets, I'm now rebuilding Future Flyer (with some minor modifications), as it was my first system set when I got back from dark ages, and basically THE set that brought me back. Though feels like a little bit taller then I remember, I'm to lazy to check the instruction.

I also heard americans are frightened of not getting their Zuckuss figures since they are TRU exclusive. I assume if TRU goes under he will just be made available widely or given to some other retailer since the figures are too close to production if not already in production.
If that doesn't happen there will still be the option to get him from europe/asia since all retailer exclusive figures are available to all retailers here (sole exception R5-D4 which is being rectified through the new 3-pack), making them not rarer than the average waves figure.

Yeah, if you spray it for more than a second or two at a time, the freezing gas might hurt the klocki. If you're really serious about cleaning it, I recommend getting a small portable air compressor, which will spray room-temperature air.

You should also invest in a small vacuum so you can keep it from getting to the point where you need to clean it off with an air compressor.

Where is the best place to get currently unavailable/knockoff figures? I know bricklink is great for getting discontinued and current minifigs but the only other source I know of is ebay for the knockoffs and that seems to have died a while ago. Newish collector, just looking for some things as desk toppers/decoration with little-to-no knowledge of this stuff.

Don't let them be so negative. As a Lego professional I can assure you that virtual klocki is achievable with Linux. https://www.mecabricks.com comes to mind when I think of usable solutions. It's an online digital building thingy. I'm sure you could eventually use WINE to just run the windows LDD if nothing else. Also Google has a Lego building thing that's a Chrome extension.

Does anyone into minecraft sets? I see posts from time to time that are against SNOT and small detailed pieces, but minecraft is like 90% just 2x2 and 2x4 bricks with plates and 10% jumpers, detail, and actions SNOTs. I don't see any interest in it from AFOLs and the sets and parts don't see very common on bricklink.

You could send a little reminder to them if you'd like. Assuming the transaction went smoothly I always leave positive feedback but occasionally forget for a while, and I wouldn't mind a reminder. The worst they could do is ignore it and leave nothing.

It's also possible they didn't receive the items yet. I always wait until I receive the item before leaving feedback for the seller.

Thank you. And yeah, I already had to raise the desk up a unit so the chair would fit as that's the lowest I could make it without sacrificing the design. And since it's not actually going to have an owner sitting in it I don't mind the lack of leg space.

People love anything maritime, ocean, sea, ect... Also probably favored by the Danes. That's why sets like Ship in a Bottle and Old Fishing Store are so successful. Also the big ships. Look at the way the Imperial Flagship has quadrupled in value. Lego can always count on the ocean to make a shekel. I'm tempted to pick up a second one of these because it's so good.

Check out the Lego Modulars on the market now. Assembly Square will net you a few structures in one for a pretty damn good pricepoint. It will give you a better perspective on pricerange.

There many many superhero sets on the market now, some retired ones can cost you quite a bit. Check bricklink to see prices for them there.

There's an anon who's been posting here buying bulk used bricks by the pound. He's always posting the city mocs he's been building so I would recommend that path for cheap. If you want official modulars and creator sets, while those are great parts packs for the price in my opinion, those will cost you a lot of money. City is the most expensive theme out of all of the others in terms of price per part. You are going to spend a lot of money on a city out of new lego.

Yup that's me. (The anon that buys by the pound.) Scored another 22 pounds for $40 cash today. This stuff was fairly clean and had a lot of girly colors in plain brick shapes so I might build something fun for my city as my next MOC.

I own all but 3 of the Creator sets and build them stock to see how LEGO did it and then MOD them out. My Parisian Restaurant has a huge outdoor deck while my Palace Cinema has a whole other section to it with a burger joint on the 1st floor.

Buying bulk you never know what you are going to get. You have to sort and clean the stuff and sometimes end up with a ton of other crap mixed in. This batch I bought today had a fancy butter knife and some poker chips in it along with some loose change.

I bring a scale with me and always inspect the stuff real quick. I usually have another large tote that I dump the boxes into to make sure the seller isn't putting rocks at the bottom of their lot. One time there was a sneaker in a huge tote I bought and I nearly lost it. Dude was like "Oh that's where my kids other sneaker went to!"

I'm also the anon that builds when it snows and we have 12-24" on its way tomorrow in a huge storm so I'll be building all day. :-) Ahh Coffee and Klocki. :-)

I have built up regulars that find lots for me, then there is CL and other apps where people buy and sell it. Yard sales used to be fun but its been years since I found anything good via that method.

Cleaning... A mild soap, and water a little warmer than room temp. Let soak for a bit. Rinse and put into a room i keep fairly warm to air dry. They come out good. The white ones I use the Hydrogen Peroxide method and believe it or not a high powered grow light. Gets them white in less than a day.

I wouldn't run my LEGO through my washing machine for the fear of the bag ripping. I spent a lot on my machine and washing LEGO is not what it's designed for.

I use a luke warm solution of soap and water. For parts that are grimy (Occasionally when I buy in bulk there are some kits that look like they have been sitting on shelves) I disassemble and put in even warmer water and have a set of soft bristle brushes to get the grime off.

You may just have to soak yours for a while to loosen the grime and gunk. Keep changing out the water for warm water. You may need a brush.

As for the water stains... It sounds like you have hard water. I guess i'm lucky with my town water and filter.

Again, it's not for all parts of that particular color. Batches change over time. For example, those Technic connectors in >>6837399. Ones from 2007 do shatter, yes, but that part in that color was used in Bonkle-sets in 2001 and 2005 and those are just fine. It's luck of the draw, really. If you get broken part from BL, I'm certain most sellers would refund you

So it's my head canon that the Arctic Expedition from 2014 was established to gather and study the crystals, which it is believed could potentially be used as a new fuel source. However the government and university that are responsible for the expedition only gave them a relatively limited budget. This annoys the head of the expedition and chief scientist. It especially annoys him that the government was willing to given an even larger budget to the Volcano research expedition, which he believes to be a fruitless waste of time.

I guess now he's going to be even more mad that the his limited budget is being over shadowed by the paleontology departments expedition, which gets a whole slew of custom made, specialty vehicles, while he had to take the stock-standard vehicles.

Adding to this, the crystals are actually chunks of liquid fuel from an alien spaceship that leaked out as the ship crashed millennia ago and over that time have been turned into crystals by a combination of the freezing cold and the pressure from the ice they're buried under.

Eventually they'll find the alien frozen and it will all turn into a Lego reenactment of The Thing and the expedition will have to be saved by their rugged Cargo Helicopter pilot.

On the inside. Still makes blue castle parts less realistic than the black ones. There are castles that use black rocks as building materials. Due to how rocks act however, they will appear dark grey.
And I know how big castles are approximately, that still would make it very expensive to paint it from the outside with blue color. Using blue colored wool inside of the castle on the other hand isn't so costly and actually makes sense for decoration. But, the point was which color for castle parts were more realistic. Black still wins.

Take a look at official stuff. Replicate what you see. Then look at MOCs, and try to replicate those as well. Keep going until you're good enough.

Having grey walls and branding it as “Jurassic Park” doesn’t make me want to buy it. Hell, having it branded at all makes me want it less, but at least it could have been faithful
Though on the figs I realize now it’s probably an issue of getting rights to the actor’s likenesses or something

However in the rare case a thread reaches bump limit and is already on page 8 or 9 (the image limit is reached far before that more often than not) then it's smart to make a new one.

Just make sure to update the links to the 'previous' thread from wich was migrated and the Bionicle and Bootlego thread if they're up and leave a post in the previous Lego general commenting to the new thread saying 'New thread' or something like that.

Having the word Lego in the title helps people to find it in the catalog quickly via ctrl+f.

Different variant: Make a containership with 2x4size containers and get rid of minifigs.)

(Industrial sites would probably also run over budget even in LEGO. Especially chemical plants.)
