I read all the books when I was a pre-teen. My favorite was the Versailles book, but I didn't like the doll's face at the time.. Not that it mattered since my parents said no to getting one of the dolls! Maybe I'll pick one up secondhand now.

So why are Winx Club dolls so expensive?
I mean, I can understand Mattel and Jakks' versions going for high prices (even though Jakks never sold good when they were in stores), but even the most recent ones from Matty Toys have insane prices on eBay. Dreamix is like what, 1-2 years old at most?
Is there another way I can get them?

The most decent prices I've found were on AliExpress on Believix, Lovix and Love & Pet dolls (basically all season 4). As far as I understand they're original from Witty Toys but they're the chinese distribution or smething like that, since they are behind on broadcasting the show.
I ordered a Believix Stella that should be here in a week or two, I'll check if the quality is decent enough for the price. Judging from the pictures the clothes look ok but the faces are not exactly the same as european witty toys or jakks.

I kinda know what I'll get, this girl on youtube seems to have bought a Lovix Bloom from AliExpress as well. Her box is also in chinese and it's exactly the same one from the pictures on AE. The box also says Witty Toys, but again I know close to nothing about this toy brand.

The price range varies depending on the doll ($17-$160). The ones I've purchased have been around $30-$50 usd (not including s/h), but I also purchased them from a US store. If they were a little cheaper I'd pick up more solely for the outfits. They're such a nice quality.

Did anyone ever own What's Her Face dolls? I used to have some but I feel like now with the whole OOAK doll scene, these would be amazing. They're already blank canvases and come with a lot of cute clothes.

The first book, which is a prequel to the first movie, was honestly really good. I read it after I saw the movie and I was disappointed that they fucked with everyone's characterizations and ignored a lot of the issues and dynamics present in the novel. But everything else in the franchise is... either "meh" or "jesus this is bad." Although the choreography for the second movie was both hilarious and energetic and I liked the second film's music for the most part.

Went ahead and bought this set.
It was a waste of money. Both dolls are made of hollow plastic. The same quality you would find with those dollar store dolls only with articulation. Helen's chest is a single unibreast not two. Fuck Jakks Pacific and TRU.

You know, I just realized what bothers me about the people who complained about Frida not having her leg prosthetic for this doll because "that's erasing her disability!" Her leg was amputated below the knee 1 year before her death, which may have been a suicide spurned by her poor health which made her miserable and depressed. I think part of it is that Nickelodeon dropped the ball hard on Winx Club while they had it so iirc the dolls are harder to come by now. That might change though with the live action on Netflix and season 8 airing either at the end of this year or the beginning of next.

Looking for some advice.

Just picked up the m2m curvy dancer at Target after months of searching. I hate her wetback skintone, but I think it'd grow on me if I deboxed her and got her out of her fucking hideous "I breakdance because I dropped out of school to support my baby daddy who's in jail for a popping a cap in my brother," outfit. Plus, I've been looking for her awhile, I like the curvy barbies, and the union of curvy and m2m is amazing to me (here skintone isn't as big a problem as I make it out to be honestly, it's the outfit I hate the most).

But, I peaked at Ebay and saw how much I could sell her for ($35-70), and now I'm considering that, despite having never sold on Ebay before.

In your opinion, should I keep her boxed in the hopes she becomes even more "collectible", debox her to join the collection and put her in a nice outfit (while auctioning off her clothes to make some money), or sell her whole on Ebay?

hey my dudes, hoping you can help me out. my wife has some barbies that have been stacked on each other in a box, and on of their faces has scuff marks that are the same color of the shoes of the doll that was on top. i tried using finger nail polish remover and qtip but no luck, and i googled for a while and all i could find was how to remove dirt or ink pens from dolls, nothing about them marking each other.

anyone had this issue, or could direct me somewhere i can find out if there is a way to clean it up?

Assuming they're not vintage dolls, since these can be harsh on the vintage vinyl:

Take a damp toothbrush and put a bit of baking soda on it, then gently scrub at the marks.

If that doesn't work, try a bit of whitening toothpaste on the marks, let it sit for a minute, then gently wipe away with a warm wash cloth.

You can also try Remove-Zit, which some Barbie restorers swear by, especially for tough issues like 'green ear' on vintage Barbies.

Mm, I don't know. Mattel's Disney dolls by the end were absolute shit, with the exception of their Cinderella live action line but by that point, it was too little, too late. At least Hasbro bothers to release dolls of every Princess, and even though they're that weird papery-feeling material, the basic dolls--not the gimmick ones like bubble Ariel--don't have molded tops.

I also love Hasbro's version of the Little Kingdom franchise, as do my nieces and younger cousins.

As long as Disney is having Mattel tackle their "Collector" dolls, I'm fine with the set-up. It's not like Mattel was releasing stunning collector dolls for the ordinary Disney films.

I'm mostly disappointed with how ugly and out of proportion their princesses are, that they have zero fashion options, little in the way of playsets, and few supporting character dolls. They also have been doing molded tops with the Tangled series dolls which sucks.

Brass Key made one that's fairly close to the movie gown in 2003. That's the only doll I know of that stuck close to that movie style.

I like the new facemold better, but the dress seems to baggy for the body. Same with the other 2 dolls... considering it looks like they just re-used the pattern from the previous wedding dolls, that's probably why.

My only guess is that the light green shoes were intended to be a complementing element to her white-and-light-green dress, since they couldn't give him the white gloves. Seems unnecessary.

It's dated 2015. Season 4 was released in 2009. As far as I know China is behind on broadcasting the show so "MAYBE" that's why there are plenty Believix/Love & Pet/Lovix doll on AliExpress

The clothes look really well made (at least better that anything Mattel/Hasbro have come up with since last year). It has gloves and stockings.
The face mold it's not Jakks' nor old Witty Toys, it looks more like the recent Witty Toys' World of Winx and season 7 dolls
(Sorry I'm not opening her yet, I'm making a review on youtube. My channel is in spanish so I guess you won't care)

Yeah, I'm still confused.
I'm enjoying the doll anyway, it's really well made so I guess that's all that matters in the end.
Given that Mattel and Jakk's Winx dolls are rare and pricey nowadays I might buy the rest of them

You're welcome! Personally I would suggest getting the Disney Store versions, if you're interesting in buying them. The JC Penny dolls use the same face molds but they sometimes have weird joints and hands and the fabric isn't as nice.

All those dresses are horrible.

The Fashionista line is aimed at little girls mostly, now. Cheap clothes, cheap dolls, lots of different faces and hair styles/colors. The only thing vaguely aimed at adult collectors is the fact that they're priced low so some adult collectors decide to buy them for the heads to swap onto MTM bodies.

The only Barbie line that still does nice fashions anymore is the "Look" series but the releases are few and far between.

hey were only $2.00 in the original catalogs, so about $5-15 today depending on what years in the 70s or 80s.

Unless the catalogs were hard to come by, I suppose, and only accessible to people who did shopping by them.
