What's the consensus on armor Trunks? I don't like the sculpt for original trunks, so that leaves me amored Trunks or Xenoverse. I could be convinced to like XV Trunks more, but I'm more trying to stick with a canon design, but I just can't tell which would be a better buy. I can get both at about the same price so that's not a factor.

You're not buttfucked with a 2k budget, you can do a lot with that. Keep in mind there isn't a ton of figures really from Figuarts, quite a few but not everyone. There's no kid Gohan, for example, just teen and adult. The Androids will definitely set you back but everything else you want will run a bit under $100 I think.

Big Bad Toy Store has Android 16 for $62, cell for $60, and pre-orders for Frieza and Boo for $55 and 80, respectively. Android 17 can be found on eBay for about $170 and Android 18 for upwards of $240. You can also find Teen Gohan, Battle Damanged for like $40 and regular for maybe $60. Adult Gohan only comes in the Ultimate variety (aka Goku's orange gi) but is around $100. Also be wary of Chinese sellers on eBay, it's hard to find ones that aren't bootlegs from them.

If you have any other questions this is definitely the place to ask, and I think with 2k you'd easily be able to grab what you listed and probably a good amount more.

You have a couple options, I'd recommend future. Is it the drop down hinge or the ball itself?

Alternatively, you could try popping the leg apart and hitting it with a hairdryer on warm for 60 seconds and then cool, and then pop it back together for something that doesn't involve using super glue or pledge future, but it may loosen again

I would really dig that actually, yeah.Especially if it's the new hair swap tech where you literally just swap the hair and the head and face are separate parts. That would be more likely if it's a 2.0 which I think is unlikely as a whole. If it's just a premium color then they're probably not gonna do that, as the premium colors are always the laziest of releases.

I'm the one he asked and I'm fully aware. The teaser image makes it pretty obvious, especially with those old knees. Sometimes they improve the joints on premium color/sdcc releases but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. I still stand by what I said though, I won't be buying a 1.0 repaint.

Yeah cell is just strange. I have the og release, the face and details look great but it's just too short and because of that, too skinny. Also the midsection is just lanky and affords no extra movement.

I really like the Figure-rise bulk but the face looks off. The chin is way exaggerated and the pupils too small. It could prob look real nice with a paint up and face reshaping, so fuck it I may still grab it just to have a big boy cell

Super/Kid Buu have a chance because they're actually different characters from Majin Buu, rather than different forms. That said, I'd expect the Gohan absorbed prototype and that's it. Doubt they'd go for all Super Buu forms and Kid Buu on top of that

The way the legs bunch up at the knee and then SHOOT out on the lower leg at the knee it clearly a 1.0 body. Any 2.0 would have segmented knees and look a little better proportionately.

Looking at Vegito, he looks quite a bit like the wave 1 Goku, but at the same time the torso seems to looks slightly different than Goku. Regardless though, hopefully they used the new kinds of shoulders and shirt piece as the SSB Goku has. The original design of the shoulders was pretty terrible with too tight a fit resulting paint rub just from lifting the arms.

Dragon Star figures remind me of those PS2 DBZ intros for Tenkaichi. The sculpts are flat and chunky. Despite the lower price point, they already look like dated figures in 2018.

Gee. A toyline that's been around for years, if not decades being a bit more advance than a line that's been around for less than a year? Who would have though that would be possible?

They're still comparable to the average $20 figure. ML has plenty of misses, and reuses tons of parts.

On top of that, anime characters, by design, kind of look flatter when considering american comic aesthetic, and the fact that MLs straight-up have tons of 3D (movie) designs.

The Dragon Stars aren't the greatest things ever, no. And no one in their right mind is saying they're better than the Figuarts. Though the second wave is better than the first, for sure. Base/SS Vegeta is easily the worst figure in the line so far anyway.

Highly agree with this anon, the shodo are great, and despite the Figure-rise being hit and miss(and unpainted, you know how that makes lazy anons fling tendies) their unique offerings are still great things to have. We'll be lucky to see jiren, let alone hit, u6 saiyans and zamasu from tamashii in terms next two years. It seems they're going with buu saga releases finally after jerking the cell stuff for god knows how long. At least we have a well rounded Saiyan saga display.

As you mentioned about the second wave, they're obviously improving very quickly and learning from their mistakes. The better sleeve articulation, the better face sculpts, etc. The leg articulation seems like it may have gone a little awry, but I feel like they are indeed improving, and this 3rd wave is showing it too. I always considered his eyes to be the defining feature of that form. In his base form he has those rounded eyes, but in mystic they're sharper like vegeta's, so I assumed he was fighting in Mystic form during the entire tournament. Not sure why he wouldn't, since it doesn't drain his stamina like SSJ does. And in DBZ he always had that bang anyway no matter what form he was in, so it just didn't occur to me.

But that stopped being relevant and the duality of Kami and Daimao went out the window when it turns out they're just Namekians
And then Toriyama just came up with more and more Gods that outclass Kami in terms of God power and rank

To be fair, it's just an add-on for the hover-seat, like the Scouter Vegeta that comes with the Saiyan Pod. The good news is this gives them some parts that they can reuse for an articulated one down the line
I don't expect one soon though since they haven't even released the Golden and Mecha variants that they showed off some years ago

I only have Krillin and he works pretty well as a SHF stand in. I feel the Figure Rise kits are slightly too big to go with SHFs but Krillin works. They're teaply hit or miss with these guys. I'm probably going to give Krillin a coat of matte top coat. Did that to my Dragon Stars Hit and it makes him look so much better.

They’re supposed to send a payment notice about a week before they get their shipment and you just let it go to autopay when they actually get the figure. That being said when Yamcha was released I didn’t receive a notification I was just randomly charged one day.
