I would be okay if current vehicleshit did wacky stuff like this once in a while. The 2-in-1 Lego Movie sets did this with great results, and the piranha mech from that ninjago movie set also has it's charm.

Can someone explain what the fuck this theme was about? I used to see it on sale and never figured out what the fuck is going on.

Are they supposed to be rescuing frozen neon green and neon orange spiders and scorpions? Why are there frozen arachnids in the arctic? why are they neon colored? why are they gathering/saving them?

Ice Planet anon here. Since the mech had me pumped for more, So I've begun working on an Ice Planet base. Here is the first room of the base, a communication room which will be on the roof of the base. Anything you would like to see added here ? The base will also contain a bay for two mechs, and quarters for six minifigures with a living room. the mech bay will have a platform moving up and down to unload the mech outside of the base.

What is the best castle in the history of Lego?

There are many more young kids that buy Lego whose favourite movie is Elsa than people that like Aristocats. So it isn't likely to happen outside maybe an ideas type set. I always figured Time Cruisers was supposed to be something like LEGO Dimensions. A medium that gave an excuse for pirates, knights, and space to cross over with each other. It simply didn't bring anything new or exciting besides a plethora of hats. Maybe if Time Cruisers had included things like a pirate based moon landing or space age pirate galleons it might have done better.

I think this is actually the reason behind it. Lego probably had a whole bunch of new-old stock in over-produced pieces they wanted to sell, so they'd make parts lists and have designers make something out of what was left. A way to get rid of the last of the old castle, pirate, aquazone, space, etc parts they had laying around.

From an unbiased point of view, it's probably the Disney Castle. At 4,000+ parts it's hard to compare it to others.

My personal favorite is Trolls' Mountain Fortress with Vladek's Dark Fortress and Black Knight's Castle being close behind.

Probably the Disney Castle.

For castle theme, I would say pic related or whichever one was the last one (I think from 2006) to use a nice base plate. You could also argue that the 2013 castle theme and kingdoms is the best because of the modular implementation. However, because these sets are not 10,000 pieces, the baseplate really adds to the overall display of the castle I think.

If you count Lord of the Rings as castle theme, Helms Deep seems to be the best medieval castle. So Helms Deep and Disney Castle. Disney Castle is inspired by Neuschwanstein Castle which wasn't built until 1869.

That is the cheapest you can get brickarms, printed torsos at less than 6 dollars, and custom tank treads at less than 11 cents per cent which is a better deal than the actual Lego links on bricklink atm

Counting only the standard consumer sets, I'd vote for the Helm's Deep, but among Lego's in-house castles, I think the Goblin King's Fortress is my favorite. It's actually quite a small set compared to most Lego castles, but it feels much larger. The color scheme is unique as well, and even though the castle's just a facade, there's some great detail on it, like the tree roots that spread across the structure. It has a lot of character for a building.

I had an idea for a Battlestar Galactica UCS like set.
It would be based on the a Vipers.
But instead of it being a single over sized/large Viper, it would be a set of ViperS.
It would contain minifig scaled versions of different Vipers from the franchise's history, along with little Plaques for each one and maybe a corresponding minifig.

The best part of the sets as parts packs are the collection of "regular" bricks and small parts for details. You get a handful of larger stuff that you miss out on in most polybags. 2x2 bricks, 1x4 bricks, 6x6 plates, the 2x1x2 snot bricks, etc. The small parts are useful for making patters or whatever. Salazar's forehead comes to mind when I think of useful prints. It's like just a 2x4 white tile with cracks printed.

Lepin can use peoples mocs as their own sets because if they figure out how to solve the instructions on their own they didn't steal anyone's intellectual property. I got the Battle for Asgard set the other day (it was on sale).
I liked the Fenris Wolf a fair, but there were a few issues I did have with it.
So I fixed them.

I got the spider guy minifig, but the neck is a little crooked so the spider backing floats away from the body. I don't think it's supposed to be this way so I used a tiny hairband to secure the spider backing to the body, I hope this will fix it.

What's up with the Robin minifig. Were the lenses too difficult to manufacture. I really hate the missing details the movie minifigs had. President Business is another example for having some grey missing on his hair. I know it's common that a toy in a movie might be pretty inaccurate irl, but with Lego I think it's inexcusable.

thanks for the comments. i can post a few more pics if anons are interested. this is the ground floor to both buildings, lobby for the sanctum on one side and pizzeria on the other. like i said earlier, i kept the monster from the original retail sanctum set, and i also kept the "action" feature on the pizzeria side. and of course like a fucking genius i placed the chairs against the wall where no one can sit on them

If it doesn't work, i'd try to very carefully use a hairdryer for a few seconds so it warms up and becomes a bit more plyable, then try to carefully but firmly bend it back in place.
