As a tempered voice who won’t argue anything good is the best ever or anything bad is the worst ever, I will say that I like them and am collecting most.
There is better out there of course, but you pay for the quality increase.
Many parts are hollow to save money and the stickers are often shitty in looks, actually staying put, or both. But this is a problem that has existed throughout Generations which I think overall is a fine line for the low cost range.
Many characters who otherwise wouldn’t get a figure are getting their first since the 80’s, and the Combiner gimmick is one of my favorites (and the only one of my favorites I think will ever be seen again sadly, which may be making me overly fond of them).
What I can tell you is the small $10 range PotP figures called Legends class are the best so far. The tiny female addition to the Dinobots may be the best in the line.
The Rodimus is better in hand than in pictures or package. But I got it as an afterthough to Optimus, who is far better.
People seem to absolutely be shitting themselves in joy over the Shattered Glass figures. I don’t care for the concept, but its worth mentioning.
I liked the idea of the Primes, but having half of them its wearing off a bit. They’re just smaller original Pretenders given Prime names to sell better in the US since the Pretenders never caught on here.
Nostalgia over getting a new Abominus is high for me, and I love the Dinobot set.
Starscream is the weakest. The swoll look may work on his retool Elita-1, but fits poorly on Starscream. I’d say skip him unless you want to make a Starscream Combiner. Dreadwing as Duocon was also disappointing, but individually they still look decent.
Overall, I give the line a solid B. If you’re a snob over problems I’d say spend $50 on a superior version of each fig, but for a $20 version who are Combiners they are very nice.
