>>6977916Sorry, but i was there. I was already an adult when TPM came out and Episode 1 shit did shelf warm hardcore, but it wasn't the main characters and army builders were rare as fuck to find.
To claim otherwise is like you saying that the Pursuit of Cobra toys outside of Winter Destros and the rest of wave 1 and 2 were easy to find. I believe it because bumfuck nowheres were reporting about how easy it was to get Firefly, Stalker, Law and Order, Shock Troopers, and Alley Vipers.
In modern civilized cities, PoC was hard as fuck to buy outside of Desert Troopers and Winter Destros, just like Amidalas, Anakins, Mauls, Obi Wans, Qui Gon, and almost all droids. This continued on with AotC and RotS, where droids were still hard buys, main characters were hard finds, and only the most gimmicky, job specific Clone Troopers were easy to find.
And as stated in my posts, the prequels were disliked and hated for various things, but people still loved the ideas and designs, hence the most well liked stuff selling out. IT's pretty much the same way Space Fern Gully was hated. Majority of people liked it and a lot of the hate was mostly just sidelined.... of course, Avatar didn't sell well as a licensing thing.
As stated in previous posts I've made, RLM created a disportionate amount of hate, where suddenly everyone was an intellectual who always disliked TPM... despite just quoting RLM. I was online back then, part of tightknit communities, and people who i knew their opinions were suddenly saying shit about the movie they had never stated or even hinted at. Even people who said they liked TPM.
RLM created a lot of me toos, across every forum and chat room i belonged to.
