This year we get 1 Aquaman set which contains Aquaman,Mera and Black Manta with his submarine and a scenery.

More or less, yeah. Slizers were Lego's first attempt at an action figure line after a bit of development. Same with Roboriders. Bionicle was the first time they really tried for a big multimedia presence.

If you can, pick up some of the more Technic-based Bionicle or any CCBS set. The parts are a bit awkward to get used to but they are flexible.

I still have Jet in one piece. He was my first and my favorite. The lore they made for these guys wasn't as in depth as Bionicle, but it was pretty rad. I think had them all. I wasn't a fan of the Roboriders though. I had maybe three at most.

It's actually recommended by Lego to work your pieces a little when you first get them. Ideally you should build the set, take it apart, and build it again, because the ABS plastic can become more rigid if it isn't flexed a little bit after coming from the factory. If you get a set and don't touch it for a year after you build it, it's normal for the pieces to have more friction.

The best defense against your parts cracking is ironically making heavy use of them.

That and some brick built animals are a bit too small to actually look presentable.

The only old animal I actually like better are these old green dragons, but that's because I am biased against the current designs.

This could also be due to dust buildup. Even if the figure doesnt look dusty if any settles in the joints it my potentially make the joints stiffer. If they're creaking on top of them being hard to move than it's most likely dust. Be weary. Moving dust filled joints can damage them and make them looser down the road

Although I will admit, legitimately getting the original Alpha Team characters again would be choice. The two "spiritual successor" lines didn't do it for me. The villains were too zany imo and the theme really needed some mooks like the zombies from Alpha Team.

Voldemort's snake is NOT rubber. It's some kind of in-between material, not squishy like the rubber hairs, but not hard plastic like lego blocks or minifigs.

The downside: It is too big to click in between studs, and can only be held by minifigs through the special, tapered tail tip.

Imo Bionicle did the bulk of the saving at the beginning in 2001 but over time SW helped out more over the years while Bionicle kind of tapered down in sales as the theme lost it's steam.

Yeah, the City Space line has a ton of astronaut figs. I also like this guy from the Creator shuttle who uses the standard astronaut torso from the 2015 City Space line but has a fun double-sided head printing that's not advertised anywhere on the box.

At that point just make two minifigs. Which still could have been a pretty cool set, do a lab thing with a tube/closet build that spins and opens to reveals the alternate figure, like the star wars line did.

Don't know anything about the Ninjago story, but I absolutely love these marine animal themed mecha from the movie line. Definitely getting the shark mech, and debating getting the Lightning Jet for that adorable little fiddler crab mech. How stable is it? I was messing around with those brackets earlier, and I found that the sideways studs are slightly closer to the top of the brick than the bottom, so trying to connect with the bottoms touching leaves them under constant stress and prone to explode apart

yeah, i't's a twist on the classic SHIP frame like the one in pic related from the great Mike Yoder.

Basically I noticed that 2 and a half (angle bracket offset) plates out is the same as one brick over so you can use the new brickheadz brackets really easily to keep your side SNOT going even over technic beam joints

I have the Cinema and Pet Shop and desu, they're just ok. The facades are nice, but the interiors are lacking, especially on the Cinema. Assembly Square is good for 280, especially if you're into self-referential Lego, but like other anons have mentioned, Ninjago City blows it out of the water for just 20 bucks (and 800 pieces) more

Well fuck.
Just got my group certificate/yearly payment summery/tax thingy for the last financial year.
I made AU$40700 before tax. Tax withheld was a bit less then AU$6000. That means that over the last 12 months, AU$34700 has passed through my bank account. That's a bit of a surprise, because I currently only have a bit over $300 in my bank. That means I've spent $34400 over the last 12 months.
So I sat down and tried to roughly work out where all that money went. I worked out that I've spent about $10k on 'necessities' like council rates, car registrations, fuel, utility bills and what little credit repayments I have.
Not sure how much I've spent on food, but given that I'm a fat fuck and eat too much, too often, I've probably spent too much on food.

Then I looked up my records for how much I've spent on Lego. I keep a fairly autistic record of all my spendings on Lego, right down to the cost of individual pieces from each BL store I buy from. I also keep track of shipping costs as well and count that towards the total.
So in the last 12 months I've spent AU$10473.46 on Lego. Over $10k on Lego over the last year. That works out to an average of about $873 a month.

Tell me that's not bad. Tell me that it's normal that I've spent about 1/4 of my total yearly income on Lego, instead of saving it, or at least saving some of it.

Hi all,I got my hands on the 2019 catalog but I can't post pictures of the sets because I'm afraid I could put my source's job in danger so I will describe what I saw.
First we get sets based on a new Star Wars cartoon. It's a small number around 3.
Star Wars will have 2 Solo sets and 1 TLJ set. We also get more PT and OT sets with some anniversary sets of 20 years of the license.
We get moee Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts sets.
Ninjago has a Ying Yang theme. The villains are a new race of snakes. brand new molds.
We get a new pirates theme! It's more fantasy based with sea monsters like Pirates of the Carribean.
We get MiB sets and Toy Story 4 Juniors sets.
TLM2 has 15 sets.
City will have firefighters with a new molded headpiece? Mask thing. And we get farm sets again.
We also get night police sets and more great vehicles.
There is a new action and adventure theme called Master Force(?) I think. It's wild west set in space from the look of the sets. I will have to take a look at the catalog again. This is all for now.

Kids have wanted that since at least the 90s. Recognizable brand toys of characters from movies, cartoons and comics. They wanted Leoric of the Spectral Knights or the HISS Tank, and they wanted to play war with them. No kid wanted to play with some anthropomorphic animal from china or the soviet union, and at least no boy wanted to play peacetime with it. Our boomer parents didn't understand why we wanted named toys and didn't like that we liked "monsters" and "violence" either.

I had this iead for 3 years alreasy. The name of the theme is Astro Racers.
Set in the Milky Way Galaxy different species across the cosmos race to win the galactic key. An ancient key that can activate different machines of mass destruction used by the ancient Blacktron empire. Every set would come with small keys that activate some gimmick on every vehicle. The keys would have different colors.
A multitude of different aliens and astrounats would be in the sets. The antagonistic faction would be a race of robots similar to Borg,they are named Spyrius.

LEGO is expensive, what else is new. This is one of the reasons why MBfags are laughing at legofags so much. LEGO makes a minifig of a character people are crazy about (like Deadpool or Stone Clay) and then packages it in expensive sets. Meanwhile MB sells characters people are crazy about alone and cheaply, like Master Chief or the Destiny armories.

92 semi youngfag here, as a kid i went out of my way to stop using printed logos so i could make my own stuff and factions since the readymade ones left too little to the imagination for me to make. Hell, i used sticks garbage and rocks on the playground to play adventures that weren't completely murdertime too. Lots of toycar offroading to top it off.

Now i love monsters and stuff, but recogniscable brands and characters that are 100% set in stone is limiting even by a lot of kids standards. Mel Birnkrant went out of his way to keep the outerspacemen backgrounds a bit open ended and nebulous because of it.

Berserker Bomber was $30, I got a 2nd one on sale for $24. Even at 30 it was one of the best value for cost sets I've gotten in a long while. I probably would have gotten one for $40 but felt it was a bit much. I have not played around with Lego in about 7 years or so... But two days ago I decided to have a crack at making some custom Sci-fi ships out of a whole box of spare bricks. Got a better camera around but as its 4am, I don't really want to go and find it. Got another ship and 3 land speeders to show of so I'll post again when I can assed to find the camera in the morning/afternoon. I'll do some close up shots when I get the chance.
