Oh boy I went and made another car. This one is a 1970 Porsche 908/3 which is quite possibly the most featureless car ever made. It was not as fast as the big Porsche 917 but it was much faster on the twisty tracks considering that it wieghed only 1200 pounds. What do you bois think of this thing?

I travel to Germany frequently and Intertoys does ship to my country but my guess is, even if I bought something on them, the shipping taxes would be more high than the figure itself regardless. In other news, today was a very good day. Besides picking up Nick and Allegra, I went to a garage sale this morning and found a bunch of klocki. All of the sets pictured are complete with instructions and most boxes, and some of the bags are still sealed. That box of windows and doors is sealed and was $1. All this plus a 48x48 bley baseplate, two 32x32 blue baseplates, and about 200 Duplo bricks including many in black and sand blue, as well as Duplo versions of Tow Mater and the hippie van from Cars. Also some Duplo bricks with metal target patterns that might have been from the Cars line as well.

All for $25. I offered the kids $20 for the opened stuff and baseplates and they were very happy to take it. Pretty sure they would have taken a lot less but I already felt bad about lowballing them.

Yeah, but I felt bad because they were practically giving away the rest of it. Like that sealed 6117 Doors and Windows that was $1. The cheapest price for a sealed box on cracklink right now is thirty bucks.

I had an idea once for a game using larger figs after anon showed me that these two lines can swap heads, and wanted to bring Galidor in as well, but I don't know if I want to open my Galidor stuff since that one weirdo designer bought up all the others on cracklink.

I feel absolutely nothing looking at new SW lego sets.
The new cantina set is so disappointing and lacking compared to the previous one and the ones from the new movies are just garbage.

Wanted to do a quick inventory on my new Duplos before I started cleaning them. Turns out there are more black and medium blue pieces than I had realized. Also a few trans-light blue pieces, which is awesome.

Getting cheap Duplos in non-classic colors via cracklink is sometimes a pain in the butt because Duplos aren't in very high demand so sellers don't carry usually many of them, and they take up a lot of space so shipping them adds up quickly. Really thrilled that I got all this for a buck, but now I'm realizing that I need to g̶e̶t̶ ̶r̶i̶d̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶i̶t̶ get some more storage.

I did some digging and found this. I think if I swapped the arms out for the orginal pit droid's arms, used a black T bar, and then some modified tiles on some plates for the legs I could manage to make it work. I saw that bit but the gray torso piece would ruin it imo.

Sooo I started building the Ninjago City and have a blast. First set in like 15 years.

I enjoy the minifigs very much but can't care less about the actual Ninjago world/Characters. For me it is simply the nearly Ghost in the Shell like asia cyberpunk theme that captured me.

Now like I said I wasn't around for a looong time. What minifigs would be good to populate the city? Do you get those on ebay or what sides are good for searching?

I saw in a few MOC pictures for example a girl with blue pink pastel like twintail hair. From what set would she be for example?

TL;DR: Need cyberpunk, but I am overwhelmed by the huge numbers of Legos

I've always liked Lego, but I stayed away because they seemed expensive. Recently, a friend told me about pic related while we were talking about Star Wars the other day, and I realized I'd have to surrender and buy some Lego.

It's on Amazon and eBay it's $150+, and bricklink is $100+, so I was wondering if there was a website that would let me buy all the pieces individually for a lower price? I don't necessarily care for the minifigs.

Go for it. It's generally just a fun set, plus I love the Companion Cube build. I got it on a whim ages ago, back before I even had the game but was just collecting sets I liked for when I did get the game. Turns out the Companion Cube is the only dead weight object in the entire LD game. And you need that to get all the minikits in the Simpsons level in the main game. But the handle of the portal gun is flexible for some reason so I suggest once you get it in Chell's hand you don't plan on removing it again. I guess you could always take the whole hand out and attach it to any other minifig you want to see holding the gun.

By "lighting setup", I meant the lighting in the room where you photographed it. And yes, 1x2 clear bricks would work better for basement windows because they are usually squat and wide, not tall and narrow. You could also use transparent 1x2 tiles with ridge.

complete newfag here (yes I've read the FAQ) altho i did have a few Rubbermaid bins full of bricks when i was a kid:

got the Town Forestry Tractor because I like logging stuff and was thinking about getting pic related, but I see it's now OOP and tripled in price. Would parting it out on Brickshelf be somewhat cheaper than paying 130 leaf fiatdollars for one, or should i just go ahead and part out a better-looking logging truck (maybe one with a hood) from someone's personal design if I'm going to do that?

That price is kind of bonkers, it's a nice truck but guaranteed you can build a better one for about half the price if you're willing to wait for several bricklink orders.

have you tried LDD? you could build one in that, then assemble a shopping list for the real parts.

Aesthetically I like the Old Repiblic sets, but fair warning - playability and interior design is extremely lack luster for the two larger sets. They're mainly display models. I've found they both fall apart easy.

Although most likely only a few of the best known "international" series would get produced. Or some in-house series with prints and accessories that'll hopefully make customizing anime stuff easier. I'm just dreaming here but would definitely be nice to no longer have to pay say $39 US for a decent Miku fig I'm about to order.

Now that you asked, I'd test how the grabber/beam gun arm looked with less fingers, maybe 4. Also now they're spread pretty wide open, and the impression as a whole is more "goofy-evil" than menacing. I'd try to shorten the arm just a bit, and then pose the fingers more tightly to make it look more predatory. The flexcable as I mentioned is neat and the transneon green looks interesting because it's used sparingly. Even still I'd say there could powerplants in the robot's back, or maybe some exhaust pipes etc. in the arms, in the same color. But anyway "less is more" is the key here, and it works.

I have had this theme in my head for some time, might at some point try making some stuff for it.

Only some of my vehicles boast licensplates, only some of those have ones with actual legible lettering. I did order specific licenseplates for my modified Mystery Machine van, wich starts with the initals MM with then a long number. I still haven't figured out the rear on that thing though, 7-wide is tricky and i often forget about it.
Currently revamping an old policecar for your car advice and challenge too!

This. I'm sick of car, plane, bike, tank, boat, and helicopter crashing into each other in front of a facade. I want actual fortresses, HQs and maybe even dungeons. Absolutely agree, and because of the vast number of specialized parts in loads of different colors it's really expensive to get a collection of solid building bricks. Even the classic lego brick sets are made useless by the inclusion of too many different colors.

I agree with the many colours thing. The increased pallette from when i was a kid was one of the biggest hurdles when i came out of my darkage. The little colour themed boxes were a step in the right direction though. But I'd love even more concentrated colour selections in a larger and more diverse part types baggies from time to time.
I'd love to support Lego directly more for regular stuff, but their bricks and pieces and customer service websystem is pretty darn awful lol. I now always make screencaps of all the parts i order or browse because i just know i'm gonna time out once or twice and lose my cart with one billion pieces that i will then forget half of.

I was very pleasantly surprised that the new ninjago weapons' blades all come in a separate bag with 2 of each, like the super hero "blast" pieces. Hopefully we will get them in more colors. It would be kind of weird for everyone in a set to all have gold weapons, but even if they only do silver it's better than dozens of more katanas.

I really love the terrain pieces with displays/shrines for the dragon armor. They seem like something from an RPG, or maybe even a quest thread. I'm tempted to the the $20 plane set mostly for the sword display. It's amazing how simple these are and how much playabilty it must add for kids over just including one armor piece in each set to force you to buy them all.
