I'm excited. A new action them with a spooky focus is right up my alley. Maybe not quite the sweet spot Monster Fighters hit, but the sets and minifigs all look fantastic in their own right. I'd like to see the other sets though, and I'm really hoping Lego doesn't just squander this theme and leave it to die after one or two waves.

absolutely. That looks fucking horrible. Why not attach it to the torso? I can only imagine it's to give better arm articulation, but if that's a factor, then why make the elbows so crap?
The feet are fucking weird as well. With pic related and a few mods you could have mostly kept the look but given toe articulation. Instead it's three separate pieces on three clip connections that will always be misaligned.
Some of the decisions in these mech sets lately are just super weird

Lex Luthor (?) mech is literally the last good mech they made. It's so super solid and has tons of playability. It's literally the solid action figure. Nothing is flimsy. nothing falls off while you smash 2 mechs against each other.
I rebuilt it into Joker Mech.

I have been trying to figure out what it is I like about those tiny builds in the battle packs. I know everyone dumps on them but I genuinely like them. I realized it's probably because I liked He-Man and Thundercats when I was a kid. Both those shows featured a lot of one person vehicles that could fly or at least hover. Maybe that's why I like tiny builds like this.

Pretty excited! I'm almost certainly going to get the graveyard, and I'll probably get the lab too. Not terribly interested in the AR aspect, but I'll play around with it since it's there.

Also: I decided to treat myself a little today! Nabbed the three top bags on clearance at Target, then picked up these minifigs at Barnes & Noble. I was trying to get The Cowardly Lion and Kitty Pop for their tails (I have an idea for a minifig I want to build), but fucked up and got Flashback Lucy and Rex (I felt the Swamp Thing and decided I wanted it, though, so that was a win). I went to take a shit and opened the bags, only to find I had missed both of my marks, so I came back and went for it again. Managed to get both the lion and Kitty Pop in one go! I was so happy.

Then I went to Walmart and found the Aragog's Lair set marked down to 12 dollars and some change. Cool!

Ghost Costume Guy could have a funny ghost-themed t-shirt print on his torso that's not visible in promo images. Originally the Zombie Cowboy was supposed to be a zombified modern-day guy who went to a costume party dressed as a cowboy (this was way before the leaks for the CMF Cowboy Costume Guy), but I think I would like it better if it was a real Old West cowboy that was also a zombie (also decided way before the CMF CCG leaks).

I really hope those ghosthunters sets will be available on regular shelves and online stores in my country.

We hever had
1) Garmadon Mech/Garmadon Shark Mech
2) any of big modulars
3) any of Overwatch sets
in my country. They all being sold in a capital city in an official lego store. And their site dont send sets to small touns.

These sets look like they can be one of those exclusives? No? I hope those will be the regular sets just like lego City sets because this is literally moster Hunters series 2.0

Well,I don't live in Romania but when I visited it they had a lot of lego.Mega Construx isn't selling there but you get every Lego theme and I doubt HS will be a exclusive theme because it's more in line with Ultra Agents and it wasn't exclusive(only the final wave).

Honestly I was the same, once Bionicle died a second time I was already losing it, but there's just not been anything interesting for me in the last year or two.
But holy shit with each new picture of this HS theme, I get more and more excited. Everything looks so freaking cool, it's like Lego is checking off the boxes for cool stuff to sell people on. Really hoping this gets multiple waves, something this manic and fun deserves to last a while.
On a related note, is there a list of the sets and their costs? I don't spend much on Lego nowadays but I really do think I'll pick a few of these up, depending on price.

I have pretty much same problem as you do. We never had Scooby Doo sets, modulars, Penguins Batman movie car or etc. Even bricklink doesn't work here. But I'm pretty sure new theme will arrive here , the real reason to fear is that people won't buy it and would rather stick to city/ninjago they are already familiar with. I was working in store and tried to shill for Nexo Knights as mad, but it simply had no use...

I think a second wave should maintain the ghosts, but expand into different sources and diversify the ghosts into unique figs, bigfigs, etc. Use other locations/settings like a post office or a gas station, one or two more "home base" type sets like the lab, then maybe a a small-scale haunted house full of ghosts as a their source or something.
Wave three could expand into further monsters that have hidden themselves into the world. Even better, make them humorously obvious in their disguises. That said I dig the ideas of >>7398619 and >>7398212 for that as well.

Man, Hidden really misses the mark for me. It's also concerning because you guys all seem to like it, and basically the coolest "things" in all the sets don't actually exist. I've heard talk for a couple of years now how digital collectibles will replace physical toys, and this is really the the first major example Ive seen that looks like it will catch on. Holograms are neat, but only if I could see them in an actual space, not just on my phone screen.

Concerning how? I'm speaking in behalf of myself but I don't give a shit about the digital element of it, but this theme just looks fun. The builds are spooky fun, the minifigs are cool save the two main characters, and they're finally giving us another original theme. Why would I not want an army of slime ghost possessed townsfolk and spooky city-like settings? That's phenomenal.
There's plenty for us to like, Ultra Agents also had the digital element and I didn't give a damn about it, it was just a very fun creative theme and this falls in the same category for me.
Plus if it does well we'll without a doubt see more variety in the ghosts and monsters next time around. I'd say this is a great introduction and I'm happy to have a new original property that isn't just vehicles and robots.

I was recently able to score this treasure on eBay for just under $40. It was only missing a light gray 1x4 brick and two black 2x4 plates that were replaced with two black 2x3 plates. Everything else was 100% complete and in pristine condition, save for the flag missing half of its bottom clip but thankfully it works just fine and the printing is 9.5/10.

This set is one of my childhood grails, mostly because of that black sword. This was the one and only set where you could get a rigid ABS original design black sword and even as a kid I think I understood the value of that sword. I remember I lost it on one tragic day in 1991, when I was outside playing with two mounted knights that were fully decked out in my best Lego Castle gear. They were having an aerial battle and when I clashed them together the black sword flung out of the one knight's hand and disappeared. We had a huge driveway full of gravel and I spent what felt like an hour looking for that sword, to no avail.

Now that I've bought one set from my childhood, I'm very tempted to start getting more of the classic Space and Castle themes I had 30~ years ago. That seems like a long and expensive road, but one I'm excited for. No idea where most of my original stuff is... I had a bin that was specifically minifigures, about 80% castle and 20% pirate, with all their parts and accessories. That bin was probably my most prized Lego possession and I haven't seen it in at least 15 years. I'm hoping it's in storage somewhere and not lost or stolen. It was easily worth hundreds, if not thousands, and that's how much I'll be spending to replace it...

The villain is clearly the two new characters, the bunny and the bird thing. Something is definitely off with Bo Peep though. I expect it'll be another Lego Movie 2 scenario where the female characters does villainous stuff but in the end the male characters apologies instead.

Put simply, the sister is a jerk and as a child rejects the peace offering by destroying it and breaking the father/brothers stuff.

Then repeats the process constantly. Eventually she steals the Justice League figures followed by stealing most the other figures.

Yet the movie wants us to think that this sister is in the right or somewhat justified, that the whole movie is apparently about what is wrong with the brother.

The awesome looking Rexcelsior and the creative apocalyptic Bricksburg are claimed to be representative of a 'lack of imagination' - and the solution is for him to buy or incorporate girly stuff into his builds.

The most likeable character is Rex, he's relatable as he was alone and felt abandoned by his friends which is something most people feel when growing up. Couple this with the idea that he's essentially just Emmett trying to live up to the desire of Wildstyle by doing what she wanted.

Only issue is the dumb phone app aspect and the main characters looking like typical trash - the lack of actually including the ghost minifigures is a downside also - though i would'nt want a bigfig ghost to be honest.

And I see you're a fan of black details as well! They were definitely the rare color for certain parts, like those infamous small black feathers which cost $10 a piece on BL. I remember having two and almost missing them every time I had my stuff dumped out on carpeted floor as a kid. It's funny you should post this guy, because the Camouflaged Outpost is definitely the next Classic Castle set I'm hoping to get.
