My daughter has now taken up interest in legos with me, so I mixed some of my early 90's sets I got as a kid and added some newer ones in. Here we are camping next to some baja racers. Just wait until she finds my star wars collection and the massive 90's collection of space stuff.

The challenge is to build a kickass automobile of any sort. From a road legal pickup truck to a track prepared race car, it does not matter, just make an auto to the best of your abilities. Here are the rules.

>must be minifig scale (4-8 studs wide)
>must post with email and timestamp
>can be any type of automobile (i.e. tow-truck, golf cart, F1 car, etc.)
>only LEGO bricks must be used, no chink knock-offs
>Reply to this post with a picture of your build

Winner gets all the stuff pictured with this post. Contest ends March 8th.

Mardensfag here. Just snatched this up for $8 and no water damage this time! Seems like all of the sets are gone now. All they have now are star wars buildable figures with fucked boxes and some overpriced ($100+) bionicles. If you have a mardens near you I recommend checking it out.

Got a few panda heads, the green backpack and the mystery clown head.
Also they had this long dark brown hair that I think was only ever in the big Ewok Village set

The Rescue Rocket set. One of the little yellow pieces needed for the engine thing in the back.
I managed to substitute it with a black one from one of my tubs but its still annoying when i have to stop building something and spend several minutes trying to find a piece to replace it with because some dumb robot miscounted.

Starwars isn't modern or present day, it actually takes place in a [fictional] galaxy far, far away. Starwars also isn't large or human-scale weapons. They do sell foam rubber child-scale weapons, but that is different from a brick built set and mostly harmless.

I can't tell you for what reason they didn't accept it. If I had to guess I'd say it probably has to do with Metal Gear (as far as I'm aware, not having played it) having a relatively modern military design (ignoring the giant robots) and deals a lot with shit like PTSD and the emotional horrors of war.
Not that they really need a reason, considering it's their business and their "competition". If they decided that it's not something they want to even think about pursing, then that's their choice. I'm sure if we went though the terms and conditions there would be something about the Lego Group reserving the right to deny any submission they want for whatever reason.

My issue, is that you were too much of a retard to read what was actually written and splurged out about how Lego are hypocrites because they make Star Wars sets that have (minifigure scaled) weapons, when the rule in question is about HUMAN SCALE weapons. There aren't any 'artificially rare' figues like 1 per box classic cop, but I've noticed it is really easy to get the pop singer wild style, and grass skirt. Same old bullshit with people feeling them and buying up the desirable ones, despite the bag within a bag for some of them.

I personally wouldn't pay $75 for this set, but if I wanted the set I would rather pay the $75 than spend my time hunting down missing ones and feeling them up.

It is honestly quite comfy. I very rarely see her so hyper focussed. You barely get a word out of her, and she's just so in her element. Just think of it, have each kinda part in their own container with a custom "Department" number, then start dumping parts into your sorting machine dump parts into containers while it tells your POS/Inventory system how many parts you have. After you complete your stud.io design you can take all those parts out and have your system updated with the correct amount of parts.

You pick color, then the kind of piece you're looking for.
In this case I was looking for a reddish brown minifigure head, of which there are only 63, easy enough to look through them. It also helps a lot to learn common keywords, for example I could've searched for "female" to narrow it down to only female reddish brown minifigure heads.
This works for other pieces too, but is most useful for minifigure parts and some printed pieces.

I actually entered my dark age the year gems were introduced, even though I wanted at least one of the red gems the mummy had, so the first time I got pieces form the pick a brick wall, I loaded the cup up with a ton of them. They still feel special to me probably because of that nostalgic feeling.

There is an overlap in time, and the colours used are basically the same with a few minor differences (old style have an extra blue and two variants of orange, new style has an extra green).

Local store is clearing out their final Infinity sets. Got this one for 10 euros, which was nice. They also have similar deals for the female Ghostbusters and Powerpuff Girls sets, but I'm not sure if I should pick those up too, or not?

It's about having fun with a childrens toy anon, it's healthy not to be too elitist about it.
Some fag having misb starwars and miles of baseplates with clonetroopers is not my cup of tea, but some more mainstream nerd who is happy with a bttf delorean on his shelf is fine.
I have most in common with nostalgiafags for older sets who enjoy building them and people who build their own stuff.
Only real shit tier lego 'hobbyists' are some of the scalper tier resellers. (especially bad if there's this one rare head or torso piece in an exclusive set that sells for 999999 euros that i want for a custom project, but what can you do it happens) People who have a fair priced bricklink store as a business/fun are also a godsend for people who moc so even that can be more than fine

One a more personal note, what got you back into it? We're always curious about what you want to build and happy to help or advice you on stuff.

I think it was the first Lego Movie and also the Batman one, because I loved those. But even back then I was still on the fence. However, once the Overwatch sets were announced, I knew I'd be getting them at some point, so I started to look into lego more seriously.

Currently I'm building my collection, and trying to clear out some permanent building space. I also need to get a container of some sort.

Looking at photos like that make me wonder what happened to my old legos. Because I'm 100% certain I had those spacedudes, but at the same time some of the pieces (like the jetpack) don't seem familiar at all, which means that they were either lost (or stolen?) very early on...
