Did /lg/ liked the lego movie 2?
I still didn't watch it. Nothing that was shown, interested me. All i saw in trailers is some "lolsorandom adventure! cute stuff!". It looked like a very weak second part where characters do stupid shit and dance.
Also dumb memes about movie being feministic or Rex being the main villain didnt help me get hyped for the movie either.
Now it's middle of June and i still didn't see the movie

I just watched it for the first time the other day. I thought I'd hate it but I actually ended up liking it a lot. I still think making Rex the irredeemable evil villain was dumb. Especially when they wrote his backstory to be sympathetic and relatable. The songs were the best part of the movie though.

I thought it was pretty bad. The first one was cute and funny, this one felt cringy; they missed the humor that made the first one great, sprinkled on garbage politics, and did a pretty shit job with the good guys/bad guys.

Alright so opinions wanted, got an optimistic plan to try to make a lego lamp thing. I'd originally considered making a lighthouse in stud.io and ordering pieces, but after struggling with it a bit I'm considering buying pic related and making something out of that instead, like a cozy apartment block with the bulb sitting in the window of one of the top ones.

Thoughts?

Honestly, no.
It was more or less everything I feared the first one would be and the only time I remember actually laughing was when the Abe Lincoln fig gets sucked into the vortex and says "nooo, I had tickets for the theater today!" or something like that.

If you have complete sets in good condition is better to try and sell each one separately through cracklink. Even if you no longer have the box and/or instructions you might get a decent deal with the people there. Depends on what you got in your collection and "valuable" minifigs, if any.

You can also try selling it in lots on ebay but you won't get as much money in exchange.
Of course the average collector might find a goldmine if you do that.

Not that much. My problem was with all the new and unnecessary characters. First movie did a good job at bringing together a ragtag group of friends, representing how wacky can you go when developing your own universe in klocki. Second movie did a bad job at giving us more interaction with the characters we already know, instead giving us a bunch of irredeemable assholes who turned out to have good intentions, but I was still unable to like them even after the shitty twist.
At the very least they could have given us an actual duplo war scenario.

Hmm someone is selling this for a big discount. I thought this might have some cool pieces for me to start building my own mechs. But I can't imagine ever using the sand green and pearl gold and printed pieces.

I just don't know how to approach the whole learning to build process. I find it very hard to design something purely digitally but at the same time how do I know which parts to get before I start building? A bit of a paradox.

It's probably best to have a bunch of random physical bricks, both to get a feel for the different kinds bricks there are first and just to play around with them and discover neat little "subsections", that you can then combine digitally for one big build.
At least that's how I approach it (for small builds I even skip the digital aspect). Lego is after all a very physical and haptic hobby and I think it's best to first approach it as such

Stolen package anon from last thread here.

Well, i called the delivery company to ask where my package is. They said they would check with the driver and never called me back. I called again 3 hours later and they said the driver confirmed the address was correct and they told me to call walmart for a refund.

Got $200 refunded for the sets. This was on thursday. Well today someone came to my door with the package, said it was dropped off at his house. Driver took it to the wrong address, and the two addresses werent even close to similar, same number but completely different street names.

So what do you guys think? Guilt free lego? Or should i call walmart and tell then i got my package - i could see them not even doing anything about it.

Went to a Lego store a couple times this week. The first time the clerk gave me a free box of the famous plant pieces made from plants. The second time, the clerk offered me a choice of polybags, build day bags with printed-out instructions and loose parts in ziploc bags, and SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY han solo minifigs, so I grabbed this jet polybag because it has a big fin and five of the new 1x3 Plate With Two Studs.

A Target in my area had a bunch of Pokemon Fossil boosters on sale for the same reason, for just a couple bucks each. They're worth a lot more than that, so I snatched them up!

Anyways, I think an employee scanned it and said that Wampa Cave set was like 80-something dollars. The price tag on the shelf (obviously for something else) was for 30 something, and when I scanned it on my phone earlier, it said 100-something.

I think it's kind of a boring set, and certainly not worth that price, but it was a very interesting find!

Aside from that overlay being a little too small, it's a pretty damn good job. It still has to be stable and pass quality standards to work as a model that can be mass produced and bought.

At the end of the day, it's Lego. You can always alter the design yourself.

I had to rebuild my childhood collection after a fire, and I bought a whole bunch of lots off ebay.
Some lots are bought up by sellers, and then the better or more rare parts are sorted out and resold on bricklink, but you can sometimes tell whether or not that's the case.
Most of the time though, it's just moms or whatever selling off their kid's old shit.
A good tip is to specifically look for incomplete set lots. Great way to get specific cool parts, and bulk out your collection.

That set isn't that great, imo. All open backs on buildings. Not a lot of space, save for the blacksmith's hut. Plus a big empty space in the middle of it, I know that's supposed to be water, but I wish they'd put some trans-blue bricks around, aside from just the cyan triangular plates.

Pretty strong, it doesn't flop around at all like it used to before I rebuilt it. Some places you can't just grab it like a hammer like you can with official sets nowadays obviously. I suppose it's swooshable. The only trouble with picking it up is getting purchase on it as there are parts of the surface that aren't structural, they'll just be some tiles attached at an angle onto the core inside for example

This is what annoys me the most from the D2C set. They're using around 2000 bricks to make a giant dino, but "hey let's make another T-Rex, even when there is already a good mold, instead of a giant brachiosaurus which will never get a proper mold".

I like these sets a lot. The spaceship looks great, I just hope it has seating for three and isn't specialised for the star piece. Getting more Unikitty faces is always great, plus Disco Benny and Metalbeard look great. Smallest set is definitely the weakest but comes with some nice colours.

I think this is the last wave of TLM2 sets. Good Morning Sparkle Babies was the $10 set that everyone was hoping would contain the missing CS dudes

I'm probably just going to order the sparklebabyfigs, two piano tiles and Benny's sunglasses and MAYBE purchase the ship if I catch it on clearance
