That they did. Still waiting for the reverse side of the pamphlet to leak, but I suspect the eye patch head that leaked a while back might be one of the regional figures. I guess it's possible that they hatched this before the change in policy? Just have to wait and see.

DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP BUT there is a new theme that got leaked,we don't which theme are these set numbers from,it could be Troll or Minions though 14 sets seems a lot for both of those themes. Leaf is a code name,people speculated they could be plant accesories but those get different numbers and these are set number. No idea what it could be.

Btw,Hidden Side gets 10 sets next year so we still have original themes.

2016 Bionicle ended at 71300-71316 , but then we got some 2017 Dimension sets from 71340-71349.

I am just guessing here based on set numbers what those 14 sets might be , Bionicle and Dimensions set numbers are just very similar for 2016.

I can't find any other set numbers used from 713xx-72000 however (72001-72006 is the small 2018 Nexo Knights wave)

Might be the DOTS theme that was cancelled last year. It was supposed to be mostly made of smaller sets which would fit in the 71xxx-73xxx range.

bought mine a bit under 1 year ago, and i love it, lots of detail and cool building techniques. so many special parts, but also normal bricks, so it makes for a great parts pack too. havent had any bricks cracking like some anons have reported. minifigs are cool too, usable parts for custom characters too

Came back from three (3) Walmarts.
Two had 50% clearance on big sets. Naturally, all Starwars except for the lame ones were gone, and Ninjago was all picked clean.
Lots of mid-sized Friends and Movie sets sitting around, despite the clearance. 70838 was $50 but all sets were still available. Almost got the Friends set with the cat ears but I don't like Friends sets. I can probably add it in a bricklink order.

Grabbed a creator set I was eyeing and Christmas shopping is now done at least.

This seems suspiciously true. My Walmart had a bunch of those yellow clearance tags with most of the isle picked clean. Picked up Hanzo vs genji (inb4 overfaggotry) and the 20th anniversary imperial drop ship. This is the first time I've seen the Lego isle that clean. I also got a package from TLG which had my Clutch Powers minifig set and the new repair shuttle. I think next time around I'm going to get at least 3 of the Oni sets.

All the mining sets anon was talking about were gone but the various city sets with the same plane/helicopter nose and ice sets still weren't going anywhere. Okay the printing issue isn't great. I don't really care much about the torsos but for the faces it can be pretty glaring. It would be nice if Lego would figure out how to effectively fix that shit. Literally all that needs to be done about this is never to print a light color like flesh on top of black or otherwise dark plastic.

As a miniature painted this is one of the super basic first things you learn. Always basecoat with a lighter color.

I looked at an old set from 1995, Shuttle Launchpad. It has stickers on the shuttle main tank, cargo bay doors, vertical stabilizer, holographic stickers as solar panels, stickers on the windows of the control center and on a large signboard for the space agency. Most of the stickers go over multiple pieces, which I found particularly annoying back then as it hampers reusability of those parts. The stickers still look great today though. No peeling or color changes. The yellowing of white bricks even proceeded to the same degree everywhere irrespective of being covered by a transparent sticker or not. But, as you see, the rampancy of stickers isn't a recent development.

One of my first sets was 375, the original yellow Castle. It has a sticker sheet of something like 35 stickers on it, some of which go over multiple elements and some of which go onto the minifigs.

I think it would be even better because LEGO, maybe, could produce the sticker sets indefinitely. So we'd always have access to minifugres faces and old sets printed pieces.

Yes; different parts made in different factories with different types of ABS. If they're big parts I recommend taking them out if they seem "done" because they'll just be blocking the sunlight for other pieces.

Went to a Walmart yesterday. Shelves were pretty cleaned out and lots of stuff was on clearance in anticipation of the new wave of sets, but the only thing that appealed to me was the Minecraft "BigFig" (that's what they call it on the box) skeleton for all the 1x6 white tiles, but at $9 it still wasn't worth it.

Did happen to find a loose CMF baseplate and Hula Lulu skirt, as well as a Mega Bloks elbow plate.

I was able to get a Graveyard and Laboratory in the Saturn, also saw some in some Toys'R'us kind of store. Though they don't have the whole range of sets - in the first one they didn't have the Train and School and in the second one, they didn't have the Fortnite Bus

The Megablocks pieces are actually better designed than the LEGO one, because you can use a SNOT technic that's considered illegal by LEGO now, which is to lock a plate in perpendicular position between the studs...

That can be done in MOCs, but it's considered illegal because it damages the LEGO logo.

I've been thinking about that, a simple solution would be to do something like that injection point of the Megablocks piece, and write the LEGO logo "inside" the stud. Or maybe carve the LEGO logo inside the stud.

I believe something like pic related would solve the case, notice how the logo is actually "inside" the stud. That wouldn't break the visual identity either.

In another subject, I remember I had a piece with the sausage LEGO logo, that piece logo was pretty cool, I believe it's a very old piece.

Do you know which piece was that? That was definitely LEGO, it was too high quality.

That's not a very stable connection, though. The studs aren't very tall, so it's easy to snap the pieces apart just by pressing on the side of the part that's stuck inside the studs.

It's a lot easier to engrave a logo into the tool steel, which creates the raised logo in the finished pieces, than it is to cut an area around the letters while maintaining sharp corners. Stamping the logo afterwards is no good either, as it adds to the cycle time and may not produce consistent results due to how plastic cures.

But it's kinda silly to me how the logo interference is enough that certain SNOT techniques only 'legally' works with hollow studs.

Greetings LG!

Recently I've noticed a lot of fighting and lack of MOCs in the thread so I've decided to post something that I've been working on.

While primarily a space builder I've recently begun my foray into Lego Castle. The only problem is I'm not very good at it - and the skills and techniques used for ships and space bases don't translate very well to building medieval structures.

Still, this is my first attempt at a MOC castle - it's supposed to be a Black Knights small/medium scale outpost.
I've chosen this faction since it's the one I'm probably going to complete in the coming years.
The interior of the castle is somewhat empty as you'll see in the next shots as I'm not sure what to put inside.

I'd appreciate any sort of input, advice or feedback.

I'm also not sure how to make the surrounding terrain seem a little less "artificial". I've added some trees for vegetation to the right of the castle but they still feel off.

What am I doing wrong?

very cute and really captures the classic style
for terrain a bit of variation in height does a lot. Add some green plates for little natural bumps, maybe even a hill in the back right with slope bricks. Also a few grey slopes for form rocks and then add a path in front of the door with brown and grey parts.

There's a lot more you could do for terrain, with tons of specialized plant parts and earthy colours, but I think keeping it simple will help keep the classic look. I'd even avoid tan and dark tan bricks in the terrain for that reason

Isn't it the same? Both wouldn't be made by a CNC machine? It'd have to cut the steel the same way.

They're just what I have on hand and fit the color scheme reasonably well. I want all the clones for this model to be 501st but the trooper and pilot figs aren't especially common. Plus the one with the unique helmet just looks cool.

At the very least, it's another tool changeout to clean up and it would be impossible to smooth the stud "top" since the logo is no longer recessed into tool face. They only need one tool for engraving since the entire logo font is a consistent width shape.
I think edm would lose the engraving detail too quickly unless they switched out to the logo profile after doing most of the cutting.

Would be neat to see their tool-making processes, but don't really need that out in the open even if the Chinese are already stealing that info since they're probably the ones making the tools too.
